Chapter 199: I will follow

Two weeks after, which makes it two months in the prison, they moved out towards the direction of Rave. The past week have rolled by in preparation.

Blac trained the warriors. He gave them basic knowledge on how to fight in smaller units and the signals they should send to each other to keep coordinated. The warriors dedicated their time to that while their three Captains focused on their own roles and what’s expected of them.

During that time, Azaroth and the others planned what their next move should be. As much as they’ll like to sweep into other villages and take them, it will only get difficult from here on and what if they meet Acolyte rank Awakeners?

Although they know they are not average Awakeners they also accepted that they are not impressive Acolyte right now. How many Acolyte rank Crypt have they even hunt?

So they all agreed to focus on their personal growth as much as their mission is important. So they asked Blac to provide them with maps and then asked where the monsters are more concentrated.

One of the reasons why Greytown gained so much power is because they killed the monsters for other villages but where did the monsters come from? Probably from break Crypt.

They also asked Blac where wll the crypt are and he answered easily enough. "There are lot of different levels of Crypt locked away in Greytown. But there’s more out there, especially the Duskmire forest that coiled around the prison like a sleeping serpent. It’s where almost all the monsters that attack the villages come from."

Blac had hesitated before he continued. "There’s a rumor that even higher level Crypt are there. It’s avoid by all and forbidden to all but those given permission by Greytown."

They learnt further that Greytown use the crypt at the edge of the crypt to train their Awakeners. No wonder they are strong!

Azaroth made the decision then to visit the Duskmire forest, the east part that’s easy to access.

Blac had been surprised. "You’ll leave all the warriors and go into the Duskmire? But if you leave with the main bulk then the village will be taken over by others! Maybe Rave or sponsored by Greytown!"

Stallus and others had looked at the man as if he’s out of his mind. "Then we’ll just take the village again. It’s not that hard. Also, the warriors need the training. At least they can practice at the edge."

Blac looked at them suspicious then. Are they looking to increase their power? But the enchanted tool is enough! He began to feel doubt about the whole thing. "As you wish." freewebnoveℓ.com

So right now they are moving deeper east after they left Oakhaven behind. The land here is covered in harsh grasses and the occasional trees. But there’s lots of boulders. Small and big. They’ve been marching for one and half days when Blac pointed.

"If we want to continue to Rave then we go forward and we curve here to go to Duskmire."

At the mention of the forest an invisible ripple passed through the warriors. Their fear is bigger than their excitement because this will be the first time they will near the forest.

And it also means direct disobedience to Greytown’s order.

Azaroth turned to Stallus. They are all mounted on the cat monsters except for most of the warriors who are walking on foot and that’s why were slow in the first place. "Give them the order." freewebnøvel.coɱ

She nodded and turned. "Captain Vorn, you will remove yourself and your squad from us. Your job is to patrol this place back to Oakhaven. Don’t get any closer to Rave. Of course the land is too big to be done properly, you just do as you are told."

He saluted from his own mount. He felt equal parts envy and relief. On one hand he’s glad to be free from going to that forest with all the monsters and on the other he wants to get stronger or at least for the experience.

He turned to his men and saw the same expression mirrored on almost all fourty three of them. He quickly detached from the bulk of the main warriors and watched as they slowly go towards the way that’ll lead them to Duskmire.

Vorn turned to his warriors. "Well, let’s start our work!"

Blac nodded at the strategy given by Stallus. Now Rave will feel their presence here and will be cautious to attack. But it just won’t last long as the number of warriors are too small.

"Blac. It will be your decision to follow us deeper into the forest but we will be going. We will drop the warriors at the edge." Azaroth said shortly.

Blac thought it over. He had fight monsters before, even hunt a lot of crypt here and in the distant real world. But going deeper? There’s a rumor that only the First and Second leaders dared go deeper into the forest.

But still his curiosity at what this three wants to do tugs at him and he found himself nodding sharply. "I will follow."

Azaroth nodded once and said no more.

They made good time and by evening they could see the forest in the distance. But with the sun going down they will only sleep outside the forest so they’ll began exploring at new light in the morning.

They set up camp and Catena went to see about their food while Blac went about the warriors too. Leaving Alex, Azaroth and Catena alone.

Azaroth just sit there and meditate while Alex and Stallus gist with each other. With the sun not domination the sky again, the chill in the air began to increase.

Then suddenly the air was split with the sound of a loud twhak! An arrow slammed into a warrior’s head and he fell to the ground without a sound.

Stallus, Azaroth and Alex all stiffened because they saw the speed at which the arrow flew. It’s a proper powerful Initiate rank.
