Chapter 87: Monsters??
Simon and Charlie arrived outside the room where Sean had been keeping Jenny and Wendy. As they approached the door, they could already hear the argument inside.
"Sean, how could you do this?" Wendy sobbed. She had awakened some time ago as well. "I love you so much, yet you’ve never even looked at me properly. But for this bitch, who doesn’t even spare you a glance, you’re willing to go this far?"
Meanwhile, Jenny was glaring at Sean furiously. "You spoiled brat!" she snapped. "I will make sure you rot in jail. Look at the trouble you’ve dragged me and my brother into!"
The moment her restraints were removed, she lunged at Sean. Sean barely managed to hold her back. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
"Listen! I didn’t know anything about this." He shouted. "I didn’t even know you had a brother. Stop this right now and let’s leave immediately, or we’re all going to be in serious trouble." He grabbed Jenny’s wrist and tried to pull her toward the door.
"Wait! Don’t leave me here like this! Save me too!" Wendy cried out hurriedly.
"Shut up, Wendy!" Sean barked. "My father won’t do anything to you. Who told you to interfere when I was bringing Jenny here? You brought this on yourself."
He continued dragging the furious Jenny toward the exit while she desperately tried to scratch his face. The entire situation was a complete mess.
But just as Sean was about to pull Jenny out of the room, the door suddenly swung open.
Or rather, it was pushed open from the other side.
"It’s her." Simon’s voice rang out immediately. Simon and Charlie had barely stepped inside before Simon pointed directly at Jenny.
Sean instinctively moved in front of her like a shield.
But then...
Charlie spoke..His gaze locked onto Sean’s.
"Don’t move."
His voice was calm and simple. Yet the moment those words left his mouth, Sean’s entire body froze. His limbs stopped responding. He tried to shout. He tried to warn Jenny. But even his lips refused to move.
Not even a twitch.
Jenny frowned and was about to shove Sean aside so she could storm out herself. But Simon suddenly grabbed her wrist. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"We have her, Charlie. Let’s go."
Charlie slowly walked toward Sean. Simon’s expression changed.
"No... wait."
But Charlie’s hand shot out.
Thud!
His palm struck the side of Sean’s neck. Sean’s eyes rolled back before his body crumpled to the floor.
Charlie glanced at Simon. "He’s not dead."
Nothing more..No explanation.
Then Charlie slowly turned toward Jenny. Their eyes met. "Stay still." Charlie spoke again.
Jenny’s whole body stiffened. She tried to pull away. She tried to curse at him. But her body no longer obeyed her commands. Her pupils widened in horror. Only now did she understand what had happened to Sean.
"Send your brother a message," Charlie said calmly. "Tell him you’re in danger. He has one hour to get here."
Jenny’s body started moving on its own. She desperately tried to resist as her hand slowly reached toward the bedside table. Her phone was there. She slowly picked it up with trembling hands. Her jaw clenched so hard that her teeth nearly cracked.
She fought with everything she had. But it was useless. It felt as though her limbs no longer belonged to her.
The screen lit up. One word after another appeared as her fingers typed the message against her will.
Moments later, her thumb pressed the send button.
Charlie looked toward Simon. The moment he did, the invisible force controlling Jenny vanished. Her legs gave out beneath her. She collapsed onto the floor like a puppet whose strings had just been severed.
Outside the Bowen Mansion, on the training grounds...
Jasper slowly opened his eyes. At first, his vision was blurry. But it quickly cleared. The surroundings were shrouded in thick fog. Then his gaze landed on a figure.
Or more accurately... a monster.
The creature stood roughly twenty meters away from him. It had long black hair, pale skin, and pointed ears. The moment the creature noticed Jasper, its eyes flashed with killing intent.
It drew its hand with a sword on it and lunged forward.
Meanwhile, Oliver slowly regained consciousness as well. The first thing he saw was two creatures charging toward one another. On one side stood a ghostly elf-like monster wielding a sword.
On the other was a wolf-like beast moving on two legs. Both rushed forward without hesitation.
Zap!
Lightning crackled along the surface of the elf-like creature’s blade as it swung its sword through the air.
The wolf-like beast didn’t retreat. Instead, it lowered its body and dodged the attack. The next moment...
Whoosh!
It swung its right hand, the claws cutting through the air.
The elf-like monster was fast. It leapt back and then shot forward again.
’What the hell...?’ Oliver’s eyes widened. ’Where did these monsters come from? Where am I? Wasn’t I just at the Bowen Estate?’
His mind raced as he tried to make sense of the situation.
Both the monsters moved back and forth and kept attacking each other.
Oliver’s pupils contracted. "Wait..." His voice came out as little more than a whisper. "Those movements..." His eyes narrowed.
"It’s as if..."
Before he could finish...
"Grrrrrrhhhhh!"
Monster growls echoed from every direction.
Oliver’s expression changed.
One after another, creatures began emerging from the thick fog. Some were humanoid.
Others resembled beasts. And all of them were staring at him with hostile eyes. Or at least, that’s what it felt like.
Meanwhile, back inside the gate...
Ten more days had passed since Leon resumed cultivating again. Leon slowly opened his eyes. The sea of flames that had once filled the area was gone. Not a single trace of fire remained. He glanced around before letting out a sigh.
"Looks like this Hell’s Pool is exhausted too. There’s no more fire energy left to absorb." He muttered.
At that moment, the system panel appeared before him.
