Chapter 333: Chapter 276: Trade: Resurrection Seed

...

Eastern Capital Military Academy, dormitory.

Gao Neng actually knew that once he evolved Tyrant Blade, he would definitely attract Li Tiannan’s attention. But what choice did he have?

He couldn’t just sit on his money and not spend it just because he was afraid of Li Tiannan finding out, could he?

That wasn’t his style.

"DING! Congratulations, Host. You have obtained ’New Tyrant Blade,’" a mechanical voice announced.

The name hadn’t changed much.

But the content inside had undergone a world-shattering transformation. The original nine blade strikes had become three, a reduction of six.

Of course, the price wasn’t cheap.

million was gone just like that.

’So expensive!’

’At this rate, even billions will be gone in a flash. I need to find some new sources of income!’ Gao Neng thought as he opened the new manual.

After a quick look, he saw that the first strike of ’New Tyrant Blade’ was actually a combination of the first three strikes from the original.

’One blade, three slashes?’

’This is going to be a little difficult to practice, isn’t it?’

He then looked at the second strike of New Tyrant Blade...

’Even harder!’

It combined the fourth through the ninth strikes.

The equivalent of one blade, six slashes!

As for the final strike of New Tyrant Blade, it linked all nine of the original strikes together, forming an unbelievable one blade, nine slashes!

’It’s a progressive build-up!’

Gao Neng felt that even with his talent, it would still take him some time to master all three strikes. At the very least, he couldn’t do it right now.

He would aim to master the first strike within three days.

’The pressure is immense... I still have to practice Ghostly Stealth, Blood Blade Art, and Thunder God!’ Gao Neng felt like he was running out of time.

However, overthinking it was useless.

Ultimately, the path to becoming strong was like rowing a boat upstream; if you didn’t advance, you would fall behind. You couldn’t just sit around and wait to get stronger. He had to seize every moment to practice.

Just as he was thinking this, his phone rang.

Gao Neng glanced at it and was surprised to see it was a call from Fang Yuan.

"Grandpa Fang, hello." Gao Neng answered the call. He was a bit surprised, after all, that Fang Yuan was calling him personally.

"Haha, Gao Neng, my boy, congratulations. We have you to thank for Tangtang getting an S-rank evaluation this time," Fang Yuan’s voice soon came through the phone.

"You’re too kind, Grandpa Fang. Tangtang earned her S-rank through her own strength," Gao Neng replied modestly.

"There’s no need for such pleasantries between us. I’m well aware of Tangtang’s abilities. Are you free tonight? How about we grab dinner together?"

"I’m not free."

"..." Fang Yuan was speechless.

"Really, I’m not free," Gao Neng added after a moment’s thought.

"Alright, no problem. What about tomorrow?" Fang Yuan asked again.

"I’m not free tomorrow either."

"..." Fang Yuan was speechless again.

"Okay, I’m not free the day after tomorrow, and I have an examination the day after that. Grandpa Fang, if you have something to discuss, you can just tell me over the phone," Gao Neng said, cutting straight to the chase.

"Well, to be honest, it’s not anything too important. I know you’re heading to the Underground City, so I was thinking of having someone manage the studio’s affairs. Of course, the profits will still be settled according to our agreed shares." Fang Yuan was a little frustrated. He, the chairman of the mighty Celestial King Group, had personally invited someone to dinner, only to be rejected. Twice in a row, no less.

All he could say was that the youth of today really had no respect for their elders.

"I see. In that case, thank you, Grandpa Fang." Gao Neng naturally understood that this was Fang Yuan’s indirect, and very clever, way of sending money his way.

He had just been thinking about how even billions wouldn’t last long, and now someone was already offering him money. He couldn’t bring himself to refuse such a good person.

He hung up the phone.

Gao Neng thought for a moment, then called Gui Zian.

When the call connected, Gao Neng didn’t bother with pleasantries and got straight to the point.

"Teacher Gui, can you help me practice my blade techniques for the next three days?"

"Blade practice? Hmm... alright." Gui Zian was taken aback for a second. ’This kid’s gotten bold enough to ask me to practice with him?’ Despite his surprise, he quickly agreed.

...

The nights grew cold as winter approached.

In the City of Hope, inside a dilapidated factory, several thousand stray cats were perched on top of rusted machines, their eyes gleaming in the dark.

And directly in front of them, a silver-haired girl sat with her legs crossed on a comfortable chair, her two deep-blue eyes twinkling.

A black cat leaped from a machine and landed before the girl.

It was followed by a second, a third, a fourth...

Soon, more than a hundred cats had gathered in front of her.

These cats were very different from the others, not because they were more robust in build, but because their eyes held a distinct ’emotion.’

"Reporting to Xiaomeng Queen, we have conquered the West District and the South District. All that remains is half of the North District’s territory," the first black cat to jump down spoke.

It was speaking human words!

And yet, the other stray cats showed no surprise at all, as if this were a perfectly ordinary occurrence.

"I’ll give you three more days. Can you do it?" the girl asked.

"We will definitely do it!" the black cat replied.

"Good. What is the current size of our army?"

"Reporting to Xiaomeng Queen!" a calico cat stepped forward. "The total number of soldiers in our army is now 15,890. Among them, 536 have completed their evolution, 2,689 are semi-evolved, and the rest have all had their intelligence awakened!"

"Only 536?" The girl’s brow furrowed slightly.

"We will continue to work hard! MEOW!" the hundred-plus cats declared in unison.

The other stray cats all prostrated themselves on the ground, their eyes filled with reverence. Not a single one dared to meow or make a sound.

"Xiaomeng Queen, our army is growing larger and larger, and the humans have taken notice. A dozen of our brothers have been captured and are now being held in a research institute. Should we go rescue them?" The black cat that had spoken first lifted its head, a green light flashing in its eyes.

"No, let them study. However, we do need to find a new place," the girl said, shaking her head as she gazed out the factory window.

"MEOW!!!" all the cats cried out in unison.

"Have you found that Dark Night Elf I had you look for?" The girl thought for a moment, then changed the subject.

"We found her. The Dark Night Elf named Ye Ying is hiding in a tea house two li away," a white cat stepped forward and replied.

"Good. Take me to her," the girl nodded.

"Yes!"

...

Eastern District, Kaiyun Tea House.

Ye Ying, dressed in a waitress’s uniform, shrank into a corner. All around her, couples whispered to each other, and their voices fell clearly into her ears.

"Lin Ying from Eastern Capital Military Academy defeated Yi Qingge? And took the last S-rank spot on the Dragon List? This Lin Ying... is someone to watch!"

’Gao Neng is entering the Underground City in three days. It’s a shame my strength isn’t enough to get in.’ Ye Ying shook her head and took a cup from the cabinet.

And just then, Fatty walked over.

When his gaze fell on Ye Ying’s chest, he subconsciously swallowed. Then, he stealthily moved up behind her.

"Supervisor, is something wrong?" Ye Ying turned around.

Fatty’s hand, which had been about to touch Ye Ying’s butt, froze instantly. His face flushed slightly, but he quickly returned to normal.

"Table nine has customers. What are you still doing here?" Fatty’s tone was clearly tinged with anger. As he spoke, he surreptitiously tugged on Ye Ying’s arm.

"I’m sorry, I’ll go right now." Ye Ying retreated in alarm and hurried toward table nine. As she walked away, however, her lips curled into a cold sneer. ’Humans! Filthy humans!’

From the Forgotten Land to the City of Hope.

Ye Ying had seen too much—a dark world, dark dealings, and countless selfish, hypocritical faces.

"Do you find humans filthy?" a soft voice asked from behind Ye Ying.

Ye Ying was startled.

When she turned around, she saw that a young girl had appeared behind her at some point.

She only knew that the person before her was a young girl.

The lighting in the tea house was dim.

Furthermore, the girl wore a large hat that covered her hair and eyes, revealing only a delicate nose and small, cherry-red lips.

"Hello, would you like some tea?" Ye Ying asked immediately.

"I want to discuss a deal with you," the girl said, ignoring Ye Ying’s question.

"A deal?"

"That’s right."

"What kind of deal?" Ye Ying took a small step back. She remembered that not far behind her, there was a small door leading outside.

"Don’t be nervous. I only want one thing from you," the girl continued.

"What are you talking about? I don’t understand. I have work to do." After saying this, Ye Ying didn’t give the girl another chance to speak and turned to run.

But she didn’t get far.

The girl was much faster than her. After just three steps, she had already blocked Ye Ying’s path, one hand clamped tightly around her throat.

"Nghh!!!" Ye Ying struggled.

The commotion drew attention in the tea house.

The first to rush over was Fatty.

"Hey, what do you think you’re doing? Looking for trouble?! Let her go!" As Fatty spoke, he reached out to grab the girl.

But he failed to grab her.

A white cat at the girl’s feet leaped up, pouncing on Fatty. With a swipe of its two claws, it left his face dripping with blood.

"Agh, where did this stray cat come from?! AHHH!!!" Fatty screamed in pain.

The men and women in the tea house were startled awake. A middle-aged man in a white casual suit was the first to approach, holding a short alloy baton in his hand.

"Let her go!" The middle-aged man pointed his baton. A badge was visible on his chest, bearing three words: Public Security Bureau.

However, his baton also failed to reach the girl.

An immense psychic pressure, heavy as a mountain, bore down on him, forcing his tall frame directly to its knees.

"A high... high-rank?!" the middle-aged man’s face filled with astonishment.

Meanwhile, Ye Ying’s eyes went wide. The girl choking her had just lifted her head, and Ye Ying found herself staring right into a pair of deep-blue eyes.

Most importantly, those eyes seemed to hold a powerful, devouring force, like black holes connecting to another world.

"Give me the seed you carry. I can make it take root and sprout once more!" The girl’s lips curved into a brilliant smile.
