Chapter 6: Chapter 5: Wind Moon Forest

"Lian’Er is indeed virtuous and beautiful, but..." Tang Haotian praised, gazing in the direction Tang Lian had gone. Then he turned his head and said seriously, "Yi’Er, if you really want to be with Lian’Er, you’ll have to work much harder. Otherwise, it would be best to give up early."

"Why?" Tang Yi frowned slightly, not understanding.

"She... In any case, just listen to me." Tang Haotian hesitated, not offering an explanation.

Tang Yi was unconvinced but didn’t press the matter. ’Whatever the reason, once I reach a high enough level, no reason will be a problem.’ He nodded and said, "I understand."

Seemingly feeling the atmosphere had become too somber, Tang Haotian changed the subject. "Alright, let’s not talk about that for now. An honored guest will be visiting tomorrow. I came to tell you this so you can prepare. Don’t be too rude tomorrow."

"An honored guest? Who?" Tang Yi asked.

"You’ll find out tomorrow. It’s getting late, you should get some rest." Tang Haotian gave a mysterious smile, patted Tang Yi’s shoulder lightly, and then turned to leave, leaving Tang Yi looking helpless.

Tang Yi frowned. His father Tang Haotian’s visit this time felt a little strange.

News of Tang Yi’s injury this morning should have already spread throughout the Tang Family. Since Tang Haotian cared for him, it was odd that he didn’t ask about his wounds. Seeing Tang Yi standing here completely unscathed, he showed no hint of confusion or surprise. It was all incredibly strange.

Moreover, Tang Haotian had appeared right after he had killed Tang Jiuzhe and seen Tang Lian off. This made Tang Yi suspect that his father had witnessed everything that had just happened but was simply not saying anything...

’Forget it. I can’t be bothered to think about it so much. Although I don’t know what this so-called father of mine is plotting, I didn’t see any intent to harm me in his eyes. I am his biological son, after all, right?’

’As for...’

’Meeting an honored guest?’

Tang Yi curled his lip.

’What’s so great about meeting an honored guest compared to the thrill of killing monsters and leveling up?’

’Go to sleep early?’

’Sleep my ass!’

’Time to go wild!’

Having just obtained the system tonight, Tang Yi was incredibly excited and full of energy. He was in no mood to sleep.

He wasn’t planning on sleeping tonight. He was going to find a place to grind monsters and level up.

After a moment of thought, Tang Yi came up with the perfect place to grind.

The Wind Moon Forest!

With a flicker of his figure, Tang Yi left the Tang Family estate.

Time to go wild!!!

However, just as Tang Yi left, Tang Haotian’s figure flickered back into view from out of nowhere.

Tang Haotian watched Tang Yi’s receding back, shook his head, and muttered, "It seems Yi’Er has had an unimaginable fortuitous encounter. The power he unleashed when he killed Tang Jiuzhe should have reached the level of a Nine-Star Battle Disciple, right? Not bad, not bad at all."

"But what was that purplish-black flame? Could it be... an Exotic Fire?"

"Perhaps... he might actually be able to reach a level where he can pursue Lian’Er. But who knows? The younger generation will make their own way."

Tang Haotian chuckled to himself for a moment before leaving in the opposite direction, not following after Tang Yi...

...

「Wind Moon Forest.」

The night was as cool as water, and dark clouds roiled across the sky, blanketing the land.

Moonlight pierced through the dark clouds, revealing a winding path that flickered in and out of view. An eerie, sinister wind howled through the forest, punctuated by the sharp, terrifying cries of beasts that made one’s blood run cold.

The Wind Moon Forest was known as the Land of Death for adventurers. It was teeming with countless Demon Beasts, and the slightest mistake could get you torn to pieces.

It was said that there were even Beast Venerable Level Demon Beasts in the Wind Moon Forest, which were terrifyingly powerful.

On the Saint Martial Continent, the leveling system for Demon Beasts was the same as for humans.

There were ten levels in total.

Level 1 to Level 7 Demon Beasts had no special titles and corresponded to the human Martial Artist ranks of: Battle Disciple, Battle Master, Battle Grandmaster, Battle Spirit, Battle King, Battle Emperor, and Battle Supreme Master.

Level 8 to Level 10 Demon Beasts were called: Beast Venerable, Beast Emperor, and Beast God.

These corresponded to the human ranks of: Battle Lord, Battle Dominator, and War God.

Demon Beasts were Thick-Skinned and incredibly fast, generally stronger than humans. At the same level, a human was no match for a Demon Beast.

To obtain Heavenly and Earthly Treasures and increase their strength, humans had to venture into the wilderness to search for them. Demon Beasts, on the other hand, already lived in the wilderness. As the saying goes, those in a favorable position get the first advantage. Demon Beasts were born alongside these treasures, nourished by them year-round, and naturally grew to be incredibly formidable.

Generally speaking, it might take five or six human Battle Lords working together to subdue a single Beast Venerable, and even then, they might not succeed.

After a Demon Beast reached the Venerable Level, it would also gain sentience, becoming extremely cunning. It could even speak human language, making it exceptionally difficult to deal with.

However, such High Level Demon Beasts were not usually found in the outer areas. The outer parts were home to Low Level Demon Beasts; the deeper one went, the higher their levels became.

Therefore, the most powerful Demon Beasts generally occupied the Central District of the Wind Moon Forest.

Of course, Tang Yi hadn’t come here to challenge that kind of monster right away. That would be suicide. Leveling up had to be done step by step; he would just kill his way there slowly.

Tang Yi planned to hunt for one night, then rush back to the Tang Family estate the next day.

The Wind Moon Forest was located outside Fengyue City, just a little over ten *li* from the Tang Family estate. Traveling at top speed, it only took Tang Yi about a double hour to get there, which was quite convenient.

He plunged into the forest. The dense woods emanated all sorts of dangerous auras. Faintly, he could see Black Shadows flashing past, and the wild wind made the branches creak and groan.

For an ordinary adventurer, the Wind Moon Forest was most dangerous at night. In the pitch-black darkness, you never knew how many Demon Beasts were lying in ambush.

Of course, Tang Yi was no ordinary person.

Celestial Eye Technique!

With this Skill, the Wind Moon Forest looked no different to Tang Yi than it did in broad daylight. The darkness could not obstruct his sharp eyes.

’A dark and windy night is the perfect time for murder...’

’Pah, why do I keep messing up the line? Let’s try that again...’

’A dark and windy night is the perfect time for grinding monsters and leveling up!’

’That’s more like it!’

Tang Yi hadn’t gone far into the Wind Moon Forest when he spotted a Gale Wolf hiding in the grass, using the cover of night to prepare a sneak attack on him.

"Hmph. ’Thinking I can’t see you, how ridiculous. We’ll see who’s ambushing whom.’"

He cast the Celestial Eye Technique on it.

"Ding!"

Name: Gale Wolf

Level: Level 1 Demon Beast

Description: A pack animal, skilled in ambushes, very fast. Can shoot a small Wind Blade.

Assessment: Low threat. (Relative to the Player)

After reading its Attributes, Tang Yi’s lips curled into a disdainful smile as he looked at the Gale Wolf in the grass.

"My leveling journey starts with you!"

His figure flashed, and he leaped directly toward the Gale Wolf to attack!

"Basic Martial Technique!"

Tang Yi’s speed was immense. The Gale Wolf, hidden in the grass, thought it was undiscovered, only to be met with a massive fist!

BANG!

The punch landed squarely on the Gale Wolf’s head!

Blood splattered as the Gale Wolf’s head exploded like a watermelon.

Simple and clean!

A one-hit kill!

"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for killing a Level 1 Demon Beast, the Gale Wolf. You have received 50 Experience Value."

With a faint smile, he thought, ’Where there’s a first, there’s a second.’ Tang Yi ventured deeper into the forest, beginning his journey to level up. The mad slaughter had begun.

"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for killing a Level 1 Demon Beast, the Flower-Skinned Snake. You have received 50 Experience Value."

"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for killing a Level 1 Demon Beast, the Gale Wolf. You have received 50 Experience Value."
