Chapter 38: Chapter 37: Hong Ya

"Haven’t I been ready from the start?" Tang Yi replied with a carefree smile.

"Heh! In that case, don’t blame us for being ruthless. I don’t know who you are or how someone so young has such a high Cultivation, but opposing our Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps is a dead end!" Zhangg Yuxi said coldly.

With that, he pointed at Tang Yi and ordered his gray-robed Martial Artists and Li Kuang, "Get him. Kill him!"

"Yes," the gray-robed Martial Artists and Li Kuang replied in unison.

Four Battle Grandmasters moved in, surrounding Tang Yi.

Aside from Li Kuang, who was a One-star Battle Grandmaster, the other gray-robed Martial Artists were all Two-star Battle Grandmasters or higher. One of them was even a Four-star Battle Grandmaster.

This was an undeniably powerful force.

The four advanced on Tang Yi in unison. Their immense combined momentum was like a great mountain, heavy enough to suffocate a man.

Had their target been an ordinary person, he would have likely pissed himself in terror and collapsed to his knees long ago.

Unfortunately for them, Tang Yi was no ordinary person.

Facing the combined pressure of four Battle Grandmasters, his expression never wavered. A faint smile played on his lips, as if he were completely unconcerned by the scene before him.

"Hmph!" Seeing Tang Yi’s calm and composed demeanor, one of the gray-robed Martial Artists snorted coldly.

This gray-robed Martial Artist was named Hong Ya. His Martial Arts Cultivation was the highest among the group, second only to Zhangg Yuxi’s, having reached the level of a Four-star Battle Grandmaster.

Moreover, he was still young, only in his twenties. To become a Four-star Battle Grandmaster at that age meant his future was boundless; he was considered something of a prodigy.

His immense power made Hong Ya exceptionally confident. He could hold his head high even among Martial Artists of the same rank, looking down on them all.

But...

The Tang Yi before him was even more confident, even more arrogant than he was!

’To face four Battle Grandmaster Level Martial Artists and remain completely unfazed, without a hint of nervousness... Instead, he has this look of disdain, as if he looks down on us.’

This infuriated Hong Ya, and his heart seethed with indignation.

’He’s just a boy!’ he thought. ’How could his Talent possibly be greater than mine? How could he be stronger than me?’

’He must have used a sneak attack, or some special method, to kill Zhao Wu with a single palm strike. That couldn’t possibly be his real power.’

’And it takes four Battle Grandmasters to deal with him?’

’No, I alone am more than enough!’

At this thought, the immensely prideful Hong Ya stepped out from the group, moving ahead of the others and charging toward Tang Yi.

"Your life is mine!"

"Moon Ring Leg!"

Hong Ya barked. As he charged Tang Yi, he launched himself into the air, his right leg lashing out in a kick.

His leg bent slightly into a crescent arc, his heel shrouded in a hazy, iridescent glow that pulsed with incredible power.

He unleashed the kick while still five meters away from Tang Yi, his body soaring across the gap.

Hong Ya’s momentum amplified the power of his kick. As he soared through the air, a series of terrifying cracks echoed around him.

"Heh."

"Celestial Star Palm!"

Seeing the leg flying toward him, Tang Yi showed no sign of alarm. He remained as calm and unruffled as ever, casually raising a hand and striking out with his palm.

Tang Yi used even less power in this palm strike than he had against Zhao Wu, yet its might was significantly greater.

After all, when Tang Yi had exchanged that palm strike with Zhao Wu, he was only a Six-star Battle Grandmaster. Now, he was a genuine Seven-star Battle Grandmaster. The gap of a single star was a world of difference in power.

BAM!

As expected, Hong Ya’s leg collided with Tang Yi’s palm. A moment later, Hong Ya’s body was sent flying backward, blasted away by an immense force.

His legs instantly bent at an unnatural ninety-degree angle, appearing completely limp. As a gentle breeze blew, they swayed in the air like cotton candy.

At that moment, anyone could see that Hong Ya’s legs were broken.

Not only that, but when Hong Ya landed on the ground several meters away, he immediately pushed himself up into a sitting position and spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

"This is impossible!"

Hong Ya roared in disbelief. Then, his eyes rolled back in his head, and he collapsed onto the ground, motionless.

One strike. With just a single strike, a Four-star Battle Grandmaster had died at Tang Yi’s hand.

The might of that single palm was on full display.

Only then did everyone realize that while the palm strike that killed Zhao Wu might have been a sneak attack, Tang Yi’s actual power had been the decisive factor.

The young man before them absolutely possessed the strength to crush Zhao Wu!

The other three, who had been about to rush forward and kill Tang Yi, froze in their tracks upon seeing Hong Ya killed with a single palm. They no longer dared to advance, their eyes filled with terror as they stared at Tang Yi.

It was unclear who took the first step back, but with trembling legs, the three began to slowly retreat. Their faces were etched with fear, terrified that Tang Yi would suddenly erupt and slaughter them.

"Worthless!" Zhangg Yuxi roared, turning to size up Tang Yi anew.

’This boy... what a formidable Palm Technique!’

’From that last palm strike,’ Zhangg Yuxi mused, ’I can tell Tang Yi’s power is only around the Seven-star Battle Grandmaster Level, a notch below my own. The reason he can unleash such explosive strength must be because he possesses a High Level Martial Technique.’

’That palm strike was incredibly profound. It carried a hint of starlight’s power, with all its force concentrated into his five fingers. When unleashed, its might was vast... simply terrifying.’

’If I could get my hands on that Palm Technique...’

"Young friend Tang Yi, I have to admit, you’re quite powerful," Zhangg Yuxi threatened. "But if you insist on opposing my Wolf Heaven Mercenary Corps, you’re on a path to certain death. Still, I’m not an unreasonable man. You’ve killed two of my subordinates. If you’re willing to hand over that Palm Technique of yours, I will let bygones be bygones and allow you to leave."

"Heh. Enough with the nonsense. If you want the Palm Technique, come and take it yourself!" Tang Yi scoffed.

"Fine!" Zhangg Yuxi nodded, then said to Li Kuang and the others, "His Cultivation is only at the Seven-star Battle Grandmaster level. He’s still weaker than me. He’s only able to display such terrifying power because he relies on a High Level Martial Technique. If we all attack together, we can definitely bury him here."

"Right!" Li Kuang and the two remaining gray-robed Martial Artists nodded. Hearing Zhangg Yuxi’s words had lessened their fear of Tang Yi considerably.

Besides, with Zhangg Yuxi, a Nine-star Battle Grandmaster, backing them up, they had nothing left to fear.

SWISH!

Li Kuang drew his short blade, and the two gray-robed Martial Artists also drew their Weapons. They charged toward Tang Yi once more.

Zhangg Yuxi also drew a Longsword, following close behind them as he rushed toward Tang Yi.

Four men, four Battle Grandmasters, all attacked at once. This time, no one dared to underestimate Tang Yi. No one was foolish enough to face him alone out of some ridiculous sense of pride. They knew this young man was immensely powerful. The slightest mistake, and their entire group could be wiped out here.

"Oh? Ganging up on me, are we?"

Tang Yi smiled slightly. Facing the simultaneous attack of four Battle Grandmasters, he didn’t dodge. Instead, with a flick of his wrist, a white Wind Blade appeared in his hand.
