"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for killing a Six-star Battle Master. You have gained 10,000 Experience Value and 10 Battle God Value."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for obtaining five Power Pills."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for leveling up. Current rank: Six-star Battle Master."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for completing the quest. You have gained 30,000 Experience Value and 30 Battle God Value."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for obtaining the Earth Tier Lower Grade Martial Technique, ’Celestial Star Palm’."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for leveling up. Current rank: Seven-star Battle Master."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for leveling up. Current rank: Eight-star Battle Master."
"Ding! Congratulations to Player Tang Yi for leveling up. Current rank: Nine-star Battle Master."
Listening to the series of notifications, Tang Yi was ecstatic. He never expected the quest rewards to be so generous.
This was so much faster than grinding monsters!
He had fought monsters all last night just to go from a One-star Battle Master to a Five-star Battle Master. But now, after completing a single quest, he had instantly jumped four levels. That was faster than a rocket.
Now, Tang Yi was just one step away from breaking into the ranks of the Battle Grandmasters.
"Tang Yi! How dare you kill my grandson! You deserve to die!"
Just then, a heaven-shocking roar erupted from below the stage. Immediately after, an old man radiating a towering rage leaped onto the Martial Arts Arena.
This old man was the Seventh Elder.
Seeing his grandson dead, the Seventh Elder was overcome with fury. He paid no mind to anything else as he got on the arena, extending his five fingers in a clawing motion toward Tang Yi.
"WHOOSH!"
The vicious strike tore through the air with a piercing sound.
The Seventh Elder was a Two-star Battle Grandmaster, and his strength was truly fearsome.
Tang Yi cried out in alarm. Even though he had just gained several levels, he was still in the Battle Master stage. Facing the suppressive aura of a Battle Grandmaster, the pressure on him was immense.
Not daring to be careless, his figure flashed. He pushed the Phantom Step Technique to its absolute limit, creating four faint, blurry afterimages as he dodged the Seventh Elder’s fierce attack. He then took several steps back to a safe distance and watched the Seventh Elder coldly.
"Hmm?"
The Seventh Elder grunted in surprise. He hadn’t expected his claw attack, which he had infused with eight layers of his power, to miss completely.
Just as he was about to strike again, another figure with a powerful aura leaped onto the Martial Arts Arena, landing in front of him.
"Uncle Yinge, this was a match between juniors, and a death waiver was signed. No one can be blamed for a death. For you to rashly jump up here and interfere, isn’t that going a bit too far?" Tang Haotian said coldly.
"Ah, so it’s the Clan Leader." The Seventh Elder glanced at Tang Haotian before turning his gaze back to Tang Yi. "Of course, I wouldn’t interfere in a fight between juniors. However, Tang Yi killed my grandson, Tang Fangzhou! My bloodline depended on Fangzhou to carry on the family name. Now that Tang Yi has killed him, how am I supposed to face his parents? How can I face the ancestors of my lineage?"
"Uncle Yinge, have you ever considered this: if my son had been the weaker one, who would be lying dead right now? If my son had died, should I then seek to settle the score with your grandson, Tang Fangzhou? Or perhaps with you? If so, what is the point of this Martial Arts Arena for resolving disputes? What is the point of a death waiver?"
Tang Haotian stood before Tang Yi like an unmovable mountain. No matter what, he would protect him to the very end.
"It seems the Clan Leader intends to protect Tang Yi no matter what, and let my Fangzhou die for nothing?" The Seventh Elder narrowed his eyes, his voice turning cold and sinister.
"If my son, Tang Yi, were at fault, I would absolutely handle it according to the Tang Family rules and would not protect him. But Tang Yi did nothing wrong. Tang Fangzhou was simply not as skilled, and no one can be blamed for a death on the Martial Arts Arena. How can you say he died for nothing? What does this have to do with Tang Yi?" Tang Haotian said.
"Clan Leader, how can you be so protective? A life for a life, a debt for a debt! Tang Yi killed my brother, so he must pay with his own life!"
At that moment, Tang Fanghua also leaped onto the arena. Her face was stained with tears, clearly heartbroken over Tang Fangzhou’s death.
No matter how arrogant or domineering Tang Fangzhou was, he had always been exceptionally good to his younger sister, Tang Fanghua. Because of this, her impression of her brother was a very good one.
Now that Tang Yi had killed Tang Fangzhou, how could Tang Fanghua not be furious? Her only brother was dead—how could she, his sister, not be heartbroken!
"Tang Yi, do you dare to fight me in a match? We’ll sign a death waiver—life and death will be left to fate!" Tang Fanghua declared, looking at Tang Yi.
Tang Fanghua, a Four-star Battle Master. Clearly, her Cultivation was not on par with her brother’s.
Since Tang Yi could kill Tang Fangzhou, he could certainly kill her too. Challenging Tang Yi was extremely unwise.
"You’re no match for me. I won’t fight you," Tang Yi said, rejecting her immediately after a single glance.
According to the information from his Celestial Eye Technique, Tang Fanghua was not his opponent. Tang Yi was also a man of principle. Although killing people could increase his Experience Value, he wouldn’t kill just anyone. He would take revenge for grievances and right the wrongs done to him. If others didn’t provoke him, he wouldn’t kill wantonly.
Otherwise, if he killed indiscriminately, how would that make him any different from a beast?
"Coward! I’ll kill you!" Hearing her challenge rejected, Tang Fanghua drew her personal Treasure Sword and charged at Tang Yi, ready to fight him to the death.
"Sigh...!"
Tang Mingtian sighed, took a step forward, and got onto the Martial Arts Arena, blocking Tang Fanghua.
"Brother Mingtian, get out of my way! I’m going to kill him!" Tang Fanghua said furiously.
"Sister Hua, you are no match for him. Let me take your place," Tang Mingtian said helplessly. He then turned his head to Tang Yi and said, "Tang Yi, she isn’t qualified to be your opponent. What about me? Am I qualified to be your opponent?"
Tang Mingtian originally hadn’t wanted to get involved. Tang Fangzhou was a man of poor character; his death was none of Tang Mingtian’s business. But with Tang Fanghua involved, things were different.
He had special feelings for Tang Fanghua and already saw her as his other half. As a man, how could he allow the woman he loved to fight someone else to the death?
Besides, it seemed Tang Yi’s strength was even greater than Tang Fanghua’s. If they fought, she had no chance of winning.
"Brother Mingtian, you..." A sweet feeling welled up in Tang Fanghua’s heart, and she was overjoyed. With Tang Mingtian stepping forward, Tang Yi’s only fate was death!
As long as Tang Yi dared to agree, the Martial Arts Arena would become his grave!
The Seventh Elder’s gaze toward Tang Mingtian also showed a hint of satisfaction. He hadn’t expected that his arrangement for Tang Fanghua to spend more time with Tang Mingtian would actually prove useful at a critical moment.
Since Tang Mingtian wanted to fight Tang Yi, and with a death waiver signed, Tang Yi’s only path was death. Now, it all depended on whether Tang Yi dared to accept.
