Chapter 24: Chapter 23: Mountain Collapse Displays Its Might

"I was too careless!"

Tang Yi climbed up from the ground, a fiery, stinging pain flaring up in his right hand.

He hadn’t expected that even though they were both Yellow Tier Martial Techniques, the Three Roar Fist would be so much more powerful than the Star Palm.

Tang Yi had miscalculated. He knew Tang Fangzhou had two Yellow Tier Martial Techniques. He had previously clashed with one of them, the Star Palm, and they had been evenly matched. He’d assumed he could block the other with just his fists, but who would have thought the second technique would be so much more powerful.

Of course, Tang Yi couldn’t really be blamed. He had only just arrived in this Otherworld, and his combat experience was extremely limited. Most of his fights had been against Demon Beasts in the wilderness, so he wouldn’t have suffered such a major loss otherwise.

After this setback, Tang Yi thought to himself, ’I must find a good sparring partner in the future and properly hone my combat experience.’

"What do you think? You think you can fight me? You’re still far too green. So what if you’ve reached the Battle Master’s level of cultivation? You still ended up losing to me."

Having sent Tang Yi flying and inflicted a serious injury with a single punch, a smug look flashed in Tang Fangzhou’s eyes. He couldn’t help but taunt him.

"The Seventh Young Master is mighty!"

Down below the arena, the Tang Family disciples who supported Tang Fangzhou all began to cheer. The more pathetic Tang Yi looked, the happier they became.

"The Seventh Young Master is so handsome! That heroic bearing, that powerful aura... I want to marry him so badly," a female Tang Family clan member said, completely infatuated.

"For our Tang Family to have geniuses like Young Master Mingtian and the Seventh Young Master is a blessing earned over three lifetimes. With them around, the Tang Family will surely prosper for hundreds of years," a Tang Family disciple declared proudly, as if he were Tang Fangzhou himself.

"That’s right! The Seventh Young Master is such a genius. How could a piece of trash like Tang Yi possibly compare to him?" another disciple added, making sure to kick Tang Yi while he was down.

"Heh. Have I lost? I don’t think so. Tang Fangzhou, you’re the one who forced my hand. Don’t you dare blame me for what happens next." Tang Yi shot Tang Fangzhou a cold glance, then clenched his fists and lowered his body into a slight crouch.

Seeing Tang Yi’s strange posture, Tang Fangzhou felt a sense of foreboding. He tensed his legs, ready to dodge at a moment’s notice. Despite his unease, his words were unyielding. "So what if I forced you, Tang Yi? What are you going to do about it? With your level of strength, you’re not even worthy of polishing my boots."

"HAHAHAHA."

Hearing Tang Fangzhou’s words, the crowd below the arena burst into a roar of laughter.

In contrast, a look of astonishment flashed in Tang Mingtian’s eyes from within the crowd. His gaze fixed on Tang Yi as if he were looking at a monster, and he muttered repeatedly, "Impossible... Absolutely impossible."

"What is it, Brother Mingtian?" Tang Fanghua looked at Tang Mingtian, confused. She couldn’t understand why he was reacting so strongly when all Tang Yi had done was take a strange stance.

"This is... this is the aura of a High-level Martial Technique," Tang Mingtian said distractedly, his eyes glued to Tang Yi.

"A High-level Martial Technique? That strange stance is a High-level Martial Technique? What grade is it?" Tang Fanghua still didn’t understand why Tang Mingtian was so shocked.

"How could Tang Yi possibly know a High-level Martial Technique? That’s absolutely impossible," Tang Mingtian mused, looking down in thought. "Judging from the aura radiating from him, this Martial Technique has to be at least Profound Tier Middle Grade, maybe even higher. Could the Clan Leader have given him the cultivation method for Amber Nine Palms? But the aura doesn’t feel like Amber Nine Palms."

"Profound Tier Middle Grade! How is that possible?!"

Tang Fanghua couldn’t believe her ears. ’How could Tang Yi possibly know a Profound Tier Middle Grade Martial Technique?’

A Profound Tier Middle Grade Martial Technique was immensely powerful, but it was also far more difficult to cultivate than any Yellow Tier Martial Technique. If it took a month to master a Yellow Tier Upper Grade technique, mastering a Profound Tier Lower Grade one would take half a year, perhaps even a full year. A Profound Tier Middle Grade technique would require at least a year or more.

And that was all dependent on a Martial Artist’s natural talent. With poor talent, it was entirely possible to practice for a lifetime and achieve nothing.

Typically, Tang Family disciples were forbidden from cultivating Profound Tier Martial Techniques until they reached the rank of Battle Grandmaster, let alone a Profound Tier Middle Grade technique.

Setting aside the question of whether one could even succeed, cultivating Profound Tier Martial Techniques was an enormous waste of time. In the same amount of time, one’s Martial Arts Cultivation could be raised significantly.

That was why the Tang Family had a rule: no one below the rank of Battle Grandmaster was to cultivate Profound Tier Martial Techniques. It was also why only the Elders had mastered such techniques—and even then, their techniques were only Profound Tier Lower Grade!

So how could Tang Fanghua not be shocked to hear that Tang Yi was about to unleash a Martial Technique that was Profound Tier Middle Grade or even higher?

’Whether it’s true or not, a Profound Tier Middle Grade Martial Technique is incredibly powerful. My brother won’t be able to resist it at all!’

After a moment’s thought, Tang Fanghua shouted toward the arena, "Brother, watch out! Tang Yi is about to use a Profound Tier Martial Technique!"

"What?!"

Hearing Tang Fanghua’s warning, Tang Fangzhou froze, his face a mask of bewilderment. He couldn’t quite believe it, yet Tang Yi was indeed exuding an unparalleled aura. The possibility that he was about to use a Profound Tier Martial Technique was alarmingly high!

But...

’How could Tang Yi possibly know a Martial Technique of the Profound Tier or higher?’

’Did the Clan Leader secretly teach him?’

’What a brilliant scheme!’

Tang Fangzhou seethed with fury, feeling as if he’d been set up by both the Clan Leader and Tang Yi.

Of course, Tang Mingtian had only guessed that Tang Yi was about to use a High-level Martial Technique. As for its grade, the highest he had guessed was Profound Tier Upper Grade. He could never have imagined that the technique Tang Yi was unleashing was not merely Profound Tier, but Earth Tier!

Mountain Collapse, Earth Tier Lower Grade.

Tang Yi possessed two Earth Tier Martial Techniques: Mountain Collapse and Gale Blade.

Gale Blade involved unleashing Wind Blades to slice an opponent to pieces. The skill was far too lethal, and Tang Yi didn’t dare use it within the Tang Family. If he casually killed someone in plain sight of everyone, what would happen if he were accused of murder?

After all, the Tang Family was his own. He had no desire to become its enemy. Doing so would also put Clan Leader Tang Haotian in an incredibly difficult position. That was why Tang Yi chose Mountain Collapse.

In Tang Yi’s mind, this skill was not only immensely powerful, but it could also create the illusion that a death was accidental.

’I have to kill Tang Fangzhou. It’s my mission, and it must be completed.’

"Mountain Collapse!"

With a thunderous roar, Tang Yi leaped into the air, flying toward Tang Fangzhou.

In midair, Tang Yi turned his body slightly to the side. He braced his right bicep with his left hand, pointed his right elbow downward, and coiled his legs to generate force before hammering his elbow down with sudden, explosive power.

Tang Fangzhou was already prepared. Seeing Tang Yi’s attack, he hastily retreated backward.

BOOM!!

Tang Yi’s elbow didn’t strike Tang Fangzhou directly; instead, it smashed into the floor of the arena.

The floor of the Martial Arts Arena was paved with extremely hard marble, yet under Tang Yi’s single blow, it cracked like a spiderweb and caved in. Rubble flew through the air as thick dust billowed out, and a powerful shockwave erupted from the point of impact.
