Following Bai Liu’s instructions, Mu Shicheng took the Siren’s Amulet and headed to the very first carriage—the one farthest from the mirror.
According to Bai Liu, this was to avoid the God-level NPC’s area attack if its range turned out to be too large. Otherwise, Mu Shicheng might “dog-die” before he even had time to use the item. It was better to stay as far away as possible from the place where the mirror would shatter.
Before leaving, Mu Shicheng looked back at Bai Liu one last time.
A player with only 1 HP left. A God-level NPC about to emerge.
If this had been any other player, Mu Shicheng would have already assumed they were dead.
But if that player was Bai Liu...
Mu Shicheng took a deep breath, exhaled heavily, then turned around. He felt like he was worrying for nothing. He also felt that maybe Bai Liu’s nonsense had driven him insane, because he actually believed Bai Liu would survive.
This guy, who had left all the items and chances of survival to him, would definitely live.
After all, Bai Liu had just spent a hundred thousand yuan on him.
If Bai Liu died before squeezing that value back out of Mu Shicheng, that unbelievably stingy bastard probably wouldn’t let him go even as a ghost.
Mu Shicheng shook his head with a laugh, tightened his grip on the Siren’s Amulet, took a deep breath, and walked away.
After confirming that Mu Shicheng had left, Bai Liu—who had just put on a “pitiful” act of having no items and used fake brotherly sentiment to coax Mu Shicheng into selling him his soul—opened the system panel without the slightest hesitation.
[System Notification: Player Bai Liu is logging into player Mu Ke’s system panel... Login successful.]
Bai Liu’s expression was calm.
[Retrieve item: Siren’s Amulet.]
(T/N: LOL, Bai Liu!)
A white stone siren sculpture fell into Bai Liu’s hand.
Mu Ke’s Siren’s Amulet had not been bound yet, so Bai Liu could use it without any issue.
Holding the white Siren’s Bone whip in one hand and the sculpture in the other, Bai Liu took a deep breath, slowly exhaled, and looked at the mirror.
“Tawil,” he murmured, “I hope you really are what I suspect you are—a sentient, roaming-type intelligent NPC.”
“And I hope that, as a mirror, your memory lasts longer than seven seconds, and that you still remember the promise you made me when you were a merman.”
That was right. freewebnovёl.ƈom
Bai Liu had investigated this God-level NPC before.
In Siren Town, the God-level NPC—the Siren King—had told Bai Liu that his name was Tawil.
However, the original NPC, Siren Banshee, was named Merde. Yet when the Siren King appeared, he had given Bai Liu a completely unrelated name. Moreover, the previous Siren Banshee had never mentioned anything about granting players a wish.
The situation resembled new data overwriting old data.
Combined with this God-level NPC’s series of highly self-aware behaviors, Bai Liu defined him as a [Sentient Roaming-type NPC].
He had his own name and thoughts, like a powerful “alternative player” taking on the role of a horror game boss while wandering between different games.
Bai Liu believed that the other party retained his memories.
That was the reason Bai Liu dared to take the risk of breaking the mirror himself.
First, Bai Liu also had a Siren’s Amulet, so in essence, there was no major difference between Mu Shicheng breaking the mirror and him doing it.
Second, the God-level NPC—Tawil—had once promised to grant Bai Liu a wish. Judging from the way he had repeatedly emphasized it last time, this [wish] clearly carried some weight.
Provided, of course, that Tawil had not forgotten.
Bai Liu closed his eyes.
He slowly adjusted his breathing, then opened them again.
Gripping the bone whip in his hand, he looked straight at his own reflection in the mirror and lashed down without mercy.
The instant the whip struck, the train exploded.
Flames surged from the end of the train like a tidal wave.
Bai Liu’s reflection shattered into countless fragments.
The train roared forward, letting out a long, trembling whistle. The glass shards scattered across the floor vibrated, then reassembled themselves into a broken mirror.
Inside the mirror appeared a naked man.
He had a pale, somber, yet richly beautiful face, and a flawless body with perfectly defined muscle lines. Fine mirror shards clung to his face, glittering beneath his eyes and across his bare, perfect body like crushed diamonds.
His long, curling hair fell to his waist, bright silver like liquid mercury.
Framed within the cracked mirror, he looked like a priceless work of art.
As if awakened by the noise, he slowly opened his eyes beneath long lashes. His pupils resembled flowing mirror surfaces, reflecting the world-destroying explosion and raging fire without the slightest emotion.
The moment he—or rather, it—fully opened his eyes, every window on the train shattered outward.
The crowd screamed and fled in terror, but many of them died almost instantly. Mirror shards slit through their throats, and blood sprayed everywhere within seconds.
At the far end of the carriage, Mu Shicheng was wounded by a swarm of flying shards. At the final moment before his health hit zero, he looked forward, gritted his teeth, crushed the amulet, and left the game.

Du Sanying crawled dizzily out of a carriage filled with water.
He stared at the train, which had suddenly braked to a stop. Before he could even react, the scene before him abruptly shattered like a broken mirror, collapsing in a chaotic clatter.

Tawil extended one cold, pale, well-defined finger and touched the mirror’s surface.
He lowered his eyes with a faint trace of annoyance, as though being woken from deep sleep had left him somewhat displeased.
His low voice carried a slight hint of waking temper.
“So noisy.”
The roaring explosion froze in an instant.
Flying metal fragments and the screaming, fleeing crowd all hung suspended in midair.
Behind Bai Liu, a wave of fire that would have swallowed him in the next second hovered motionless.
All around him were trembling mirror shards, nearly enveloping him completely. Yet although their sharp ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) tips were aimed directly at him, they only hovered in the air, quivering faintly without attacking.
The [Siren’s Amulet] clenched tightly in Bai Liu’s hand turned to powder the moment Tawil opened his eyes, slipping through his fingers like white sand.
Looking at Tawil in the mirror, Bai Liu let out a long, long breath.
Then, for once, he smiled with genuine emotion.
“Long time no see, Tawil.”
Seeing that he still had not been attacked, Bai Liu’s smile deepened.
“It seems you still remember me?”
Tawil gazed calmly back at Bai Liu from within the mirror. His long hair rippled faintly, like waves of silver.
“It has not been that long, Bai Liu.”
“The last person I saw when I woke was also you. In such a short time, it would be difficult for me to forget you.”
“Is that so?”
Bai Liu laughed softly.
“Then do you still remember the wish you promised to grant me last time?”
Tawil gave a quiet hum of acknowledgment.
He looked at Bai Liu calmly.
“Have you decided what wish you want to make?”
“Yes.”
Bai Liu smiled.
“Attack me.”
“Attack me in a way that won’t kill me.”
“Tawil, that is my wish.”
Tawil fell into a subtle silence for two seconds.
“I rarely encounter humans like you.”
He paused.
“You ask me to attack you every time.”
His gaze lingered on Bai Liu.
“Do you enjoy it very much?”
If Bai Liu had known that his answer here would lead to Tawil’s misunderstandings deepening in the future, he would have answered seriously.
But now, standing at the moment of victory and facing Tawil—a game NPC whose character model he greatly admired—Bai Liu’s nerves finally relaxed.
With a faint smile, he could not resist teasing him.
“Maybe I only like it because it’s you hitting me?”
He tilted his head slightly.
“Maybe we’re especially fated. That’s why I’m like this.”
A trace of faint confusion appeared on Tawil’s expressionless face, but it vanished almost immediately.
He scanned Bai Liu from head to toe with an inorganic gaze.
“You only have 1 HP left.”
“Any form of my attack will kill you.”
Bai Liu was utterly shameless.
“That’s for you to figure out.”
He smiled. freewёbnoνel.com
“That is my wish.”
Tawil stared at Bai Liu for a very, very long time.
Then, somewhat slowly and tentatively, he leaned his head out of the mirror.
Lowering his pale lashes, he parted his lips and bit the stunned Bai Liu’s lower lip very, very lightly.
[System Notification: Player Bai Liu has been attacked by the God-level NPC, Lord of the Ghost Mirror!]
[System Notification: Player Bai Liu’s health -0.5. Remaining health: 0.5. Please exit the game immediately!]
“Is this acceptable?”
Tawil’s eyelashes trembled slightly as he asked beside Bai Liu’s ear, his voice barely above a whisper.
Bai Liu turned his head a little uncomfortably.
He raised a hand and wiped the faint teeth marks Tawil had left on his lip. For a moment, he didn’t quite know what to say, so he simply nodded.
“...That works. Thank you.”
Last time...
Tawil seemed to have kissed the exact same spot.
Did this NPC have some kind of fixation on his lips?
It had to be an illusion.

Bai Liu turned into points of light, like shattered mirror fragments, and vanished before Tawil’s eyes.
Before disappearing, he waved and smiled in farewell.
“Thanks, Tawil.”
“If we’re fated, see you next time.”
Inside the mirror, Tawil lowered his eyes and touched the lip he had bitten.
He murmured softly:
“...It’s still warm.”
A body temperature completely different from cold mirrors and low-temperature mermen.
And Bai Liu was not afraid of him at all.
This was the first [human] he had ever seen who did not avoid him, but instead actively asked to be attacked.
After being touched and attacked, Bai Liu did not become a cold corpse lying on the ground, staring at him with unclosed eyes full of fear and resentment.
Nor did he become a monster like himself, cowering in dependence while avoiding his existence.
Instead, Bai Liu still carried warmth.
His eyes curved as he smiled at him and said:
“See you next time, Tawil.”
How strange.
And how warm.
See you next time...
What kind of being did Bai Liu think he was?
This aggregate of monsters.
If Bai Liu knew exactly what kind of existence he was, would he still be able to say something like that so casually?
“See you next time, Bai Liu,” Tawil whispered to the place where Bai Liu had disappeared.
Then he closed his eyes.
In an instant, the mirror shattered completely.
The train was swallowed by a violent explosion of flames, and the crowd let out piercing screams.
The monster that brought calamity was not disturbed.
It closed its eyes and slept among the cold mirror fragments that had been lightly kissed by someone, waiting for their next reunion.
On his lips lingered a warmth that did not belong to him.
(T/N: Tawil is so cute... for a murderous, probably divine being who kills people.)

Author’s Note:
The next instance will begin moving into the main storyline, and the ML will get a little more screen time.
Just a little.
Because right now, 6 still doesn’t dare face Tawil head-on. He would die a very miserable death.
My close friend complained that it feels like 6 is playing Miracle Tawil, unlocking a brand-new Tawil outfit in every instance.
Also, the ML’s name is Tawil!
I can understand people calling him Tarwei. I can even understand Weita, Xieerta, or Xiewei’er.
But what is going on with the people calling him Sergey?!
He’s turned into a Russian, hey!
