Chapter 21: Chapter 21: The Awakening of the King
"Wow, so this is Rosette Castle," said Ryutaro.
As they stepped inside, Ryutaro suddenly stopped, hearing a familiar voice.
"Why is a loser like Ryutaro here?" said an unknown person.
Ryutaro turned around and was shocked to see that the person who spoke to him was none other than his former bully.
"Do you know him, Ryutaro?" asked Alice.
"Of course, I do. They used to bully me all the time," Ryutaro replied.
"Oh, so these are the guys?" said Grace.
"They look so weak," Aurelia added.
The bullies immediately wanted to lash out at Aurelia, but Ryutaro stopped them before they could.
"They have nothing to do with you. Now, tell me why you are here."
Shohei, the leader of the group, stepped forward and spoke.
"We should be the ones asking that. Why is a loser like you here, surrounded by beautiful women?" Shohei sneered, glancing at Ryutaro’s female companions.
Ryutaro responded in a cold tone, "That’s none of your business."
Shohei’s group became visibly angry, especially Shohei himself.
"How dare you speak to us like that?!" Shohei exclaimed.
The three women immediately fired back.
"Of course, he dares! You’re nothing but weaklings compared to our man," said Grace.
"That’s right. You don’t even deserve to stand before him," Aurelia added.
Shohei’s group grew even more furious, but then Shohei’s gaze landed on Charlotte, who had remained silent the entire time.
"By the way, who is this woman? She’s quite stunning," Shohei said with admiration.
However, Charlotte responded with brutal honesty.
"Stay away from me, you piece of trash," she said coldly.
Everyone was shocked to hear such words from Charlotte, while Shohei looked furious.
"Trash, you say?" Shohei gritted his teeth.
"Yes, you are trash compared to Ryutaro," Charlotte stated firmly.
"So, this is because of Ryutaro, huh?" Shohei growled.
Filled with rage, Shohei threw down a handkerchief in front of Ryutaro.
"I challenge you to a duel, Ryutaro! The winner gets the girl. What do you say?" Shohei declared.
"Look! Shohei is challenging Ryutaro!"
"Makes sense. He’s been insulted over and over again."
"Ryutaro is doomed!"
However, Ryutaro rejected the challenge immediately.
"Sorry, but I don’t have time to play with you," Ryutaro said indifferently.
"Look, he refused the duel!"
"Isn’t that just adding more humiliation to Shohei?"
"Shohei must be absolutely livid!" freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"You dare reject my duel?" Shohei shouted angrily.
"Yes, I do. My women are not objects to be gambled," Ryutaro replied.
Hearing that, the three women blushed deeply with embarrassment.
"Fine! I will get my revenge another time, Ryutaro!" Shohei growled before storming off with his group.
"Boss, are you just going to let this slide?" one of Shohei’s followers asked.
"Of course not. I will make him pay for this humiliation later," Shohei muttered angrily.
Ryutaro and the others proceeded into the castle.
"By the way, Alice, why are they here?" Ryutaro asked.
"It’s because my father wants them to become heroes of this kingdom and protect it from danger," Alice explained.
"Oh, I see. But why were they summoned in such numbers? When I was summoned to Celestia, I was the only one," Ryutaro questioned.
"I don’t know the reason myself," Alice admitted.
"Do you two know anything about it?" Ryutaro asked Grace and Aurelia.
"No idea. Before I was sealed away, our kingdom never conducted hero summoning rituals," Grace replied.
"Same here. Before the Ashen Fang destroyed my kingdom, we never performed such a ritual," Aurelia added.
"I see. What about you, Charlotte? Since you used to work for the church, do you know the reason?" Ryutaro asked.
"No, I don’t. I didn’t have the authority to access that kind of information," Charlotte responded.
"I see. For now, let’s just focus on what’s ahead."
Not long after, they arrived at the king’s chamber.
"This is my father’s room," said Alice.
"Wow, it’s huge," Ryutaro commented.
"Wait here. I’ll go in first," Alice said before entering.
Inside the room, Alice’s father lay weakly on the bed, with her mother by his side and several physicians trying to treat him.
"Mother, I’m home," Alice said.
Her mother immediately greeted her.
"Oh, you’re back? Did you find the woman with the mask?" she asked.
"Yes, I did," Alice answered.
"Where are they?" her mother inquired.
Alice motioned for Ryutaro and the others to enter.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ryutaro, Your Majesty," Ryutaro said respectfully.
"Oh, so you’re the one. And who are they?" Alice’s mother asked.
"They are my wives, Your Majesty. That is Grace, beside her is Aurelia, and at the far end is Charlotte," Ryutaro introduced.
"I see. Then, can you heal my husband?" she asked.
"I will do my best," Ryutaro replied.
As Ryutaro approached the king, one of the physicians stopped him.
"Stop! If you make even the slightest mistake, the king’s life will be at risk!" the physician warned.
"At least let me try. If something happens, I will pay with my own life," Ryutaro insisted.
Just as he was about to activate his healing skill, the system, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly appeared with a different voice than before.
Beep! The king is afflicted with multiple poisons. It is recommended to use the spell ’Purifying Dew.’
"It’s been a while, System. So, you suggest using Purifying Dew?" Ryutaro asked.
Yes. If you use regular healing, the king will only survive for another year.
"Why is that?" Ryutaro questioned.
Because Divine Revitalization can only heal wounds and the soul but cannot remove the poison’s source. However, Purifying Dew can cure all poisons and purify the surrounding environment.
"I see," Ryutaro acknowledged before activating the spell.
"PURIFYING DEW!"
The sky above Rosette Kingdom darkened.
"No way... that spell?!" the physician gasped.
"Do you recognize it?" Alice’s mother asked.
"Yes, Your Majesty. That spell was thought to be lost long ago. It is said that it not only heals the target but also purifies the surrounding environment," the physician explained.
"Then does that mean my husband will recover?" Alice’s mother asked anxiously.
"With that spell, the king’s recovery is 100% guaranteed," the physician confirmed.
As the spell took effect, water droplets surrounded the king, purifying not only him but the entire environment. The skies cleared, and slowly, the king opened his eyes.
"Father, you’re awake!" Alice cried with tears of joy.
"Yes, I am. I’m sorry for worrying you all," the king said, wiping Alice’s tears.
They embraced, overjoyed by his recovery. However, from the shadows, someone watched, displeased. ƒrēewebnovel.com
