Chapter 9: The Sales
Richard waited as the employee of the store appraised the Rolex Submariner he had reconstructed.
And it had already been thirty minutes since they went inside the appraisal room near the back of the store.
Honestly?
The waiting itself was nerve-wracking.
Richard sat quietly on one of the leather chairs while trying his best to maintain a calm expression.
But internally?
His thoughts were running nonstop.
Because this deal would determine whether the system truly worked in the real world.
Not theoretically.
Not visually.
Actually.
If the watch passed professional authentication and sold successfully?
Then everything changed.
The employee earlier already brought the Submariner to a senior appraiser deeper inside the store.
Meaning multiple people were inspecting it now.
A female employee eventually approached him politely carrying bottled water.
"Here you go, sir."
"Thank you."
The employee smiled professionally before leaving afterward.
Several more minutes passed afterward.
The same employee from earlier returned from the back room while carrying the Rolex box carefully.
Richard subtly straightened slightly.
The employee sat across from him afterward.
His expression looked noticeably more serious now.
Well.
Here it comes.
The employee placed the Rolex carefully onto the table first.
Then he spoke.
"Thank you for waiting, sir."
Richard nodded calmly.
"No problem."
The employee exhaled slightly afterward before continuing.
"We had our senior watch specialist inspect the Submariner thoroughly."
Richard silently listened.
"The movement is correct."
"The serials match."
"The bracelet quality is correct."
"The timing performance is excellent."
"The weight and materials are also within expected specifications."
Richard’s heartbeat slowly accelerated.
Then the employee looked directly toward him.
"As far as our evaluation goes..."
He paused briefly.
"...we believe the watch is authentic."
Boom.
For a split second, Richard genuinely felt his mind blank out slightly.
Authenticated.
A reconstructed watch made by the system...
Actually passed professional inspection.
Holy shit.
The system was genuinely terrifying.
Richard forced himself to remain calm externally despite the excitement surging internally.
"I see," he answered casually.
The employee nodded.
"Honestly, the condition is unusually good."
"Especially for a Submariner supposedly circulating in the secondary market."
Richard almost laughed internally.
Of course it was unusually good.
The thing was practically reconstructed molecule by molecule by some absurd supernatural system.
Meanwhile the employee continued.
"Complete box and papers also increase its value significantly."
Then finally came the important part.
"So sir... we’re willing to make an offer if you intend to sell."
Richard calmly leaned back slightly.
"What kind of offer?"
The employee glanced briefly toward the Rolex again before answering.
"Six hundred twenty thousand pesos."
Richard nearly twitched internally.
Six hundred twenty thousand.
That was over half a million pesos.
From a single reconstructed object.
Richard kept his face controlled carefully though.
Because he remembered reading online that negotiation mattered heavily in luxury transactions.
So instead of immediately agreeing, he simply asked:
"That’s your final price?"
The employee smiled slightly afterward.
"As a reseller, we still need margin on our end, sir."
"Of course."
"But considering the condition and complete set, we believe it’s already competitive."
Richard quietly tapped the armrest lightly while pretending to think deeply.
Well in a buy and sell business, you’d need to have a margin on your end so that you make profit. But for Richard, no capital was needed as the value of the watch that he reconstructed into Rolex was simply below 2 USD. So it’s no-brainer for him not to accept the deal.
"Well, if you can give me the cash right now then we have a deal."
The employee smiled immediately afterward.
"That won’t be a problem, sir."
Richard nodded calmly.
"Alright."
The employee then stood up while carefully carrying the Rolex box again.
"I’ll prepare the paperwork and coordinate with accounting."
"Please give us a few minutes."
Richard simply nodded.
After the employee disappeared toward the back room again, Richard finally exhaled slowly.
Holy shit.
This was really happening.
Six hundred twenty thousand pesos.
His mind honestly still struggled to process the amount properly.
That was life-changing money already for someone like him.
Not billionaire rich obviously.
But enough to completely stabilize their family.
The blue holographic interface silently appeared again near the edge of his vision.
[Verified Transaction Pending.]
[Estimated Profit Recognition:₱620,000]
[Current Profit Quota:₱715,000 / ₱5,000,000]
Hmm, so even though he had spent 95,000 from the Iphone sale, the number didn’t decrease. So the system only counts how much he sold it and doesn’t take into account what he’ll do with the money.
Several minutes later, the employee finally returned again.
This time accompanied by an older man wearing glasses and a navy blue suit.
The man smiled politely afterward.
"Good afternoon, sir. I’m Vincent Tan, branch manager."
Richard stood up slightly and shook his hand.
"Richard."
Vincent nodded professionally afterward.
"I personally inspected your watch as well."
His eyes briefly glanced toward the Rolex box.
"Honestly, it’s one of the cleanest Submariners we’ve seen recently."
Richard maintained a calm expression.
"Well, I take care of my inventory."
The manager chuckled lightly.
"I can tell."
Then Vincent gestured toward the documents on the table.
"If everything looks good to you, we can finalize the transaction immediately."
Richard carefully skimmed through the paperwork afterward.
Buy-and-sell transaction forms.
Identification verification.
Transfer acknowledgment.
Standard luxury reseller procedures.
Thankfully, everything looked straightforward enough.
He handed over his ID afterward.
The manager inspected it briefly.
"From Tondo?"
Richard nodded.
"Yes."
Vincent’s eyebrows subtly lifted for just a fraction of a second. He quickly recovered professionally afterward though.
"Well," the manager said politely while smiling again, "you certainly have good taste in watches, Mr. Apostol." fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Richard almost laughed internally.
Funny.
If this conversation happened yesterday while he wore old jeans and slippers, they probably would not even let him stay inside comfortably this long.
Appearance and money really changed everything.
After signing the papers, Vincent eventually asked.
"Cash is your preferred transaction right?"
With a flick of the finger, one of the employee approached with a small black briefcase.
Richard’s eyes subtly paused on it.
The employee carefully placed the briefcase onto the glass table before opening it.
Inside were neatly stacked bundles of cash.
Five-hundred peso bills.
One-thousand peso bills.
Arranged cleanly in banking straps.
For a brief second, Richard genuinely just stared at it silently.
Six hundred twenty thousand pesos.
In physical cash.
"You may count it if you’d like, sir."
Richard immediately shook his head calmly.
"No need. I trust the store."
Vincent smiled slightly afterward.
"Thank you for your trust."
