Chapter 30: Reaching the Quota

The thought alone made Richard’s heart beat faster.

He didn’t know what Level 3 would unlock.

Bigger vehicles?

Industrial machinery?

Something even crazier?

Whatever it was, the system had never disappointed him before.

The phone on his desk suddenly vibrated.

Then another notification appeared.

Someone was asking about the remaining BMW X3.

Richard immediately replied.

A few minutes later, the customer called.

The man introduced himself as a real estate developer from Alabang.

Apparently, he had been searching for an X3 for his wife.

He asked all the usual questions.

Mileage.

History.

Service records.

Accident records.

Price.

Then came the sentence Richard had grown to love.

"I’m free tomorrow. Can I visit the dealership?"

Richard smiled.

"Of course, sir."

The following morning, a black Lexus LX600 entered the gates of Phoenix Auto Trading.

A man in his forties stepped out.

His wife followed shortly afterward.

They looked around the lot.

Then both frowned.

Only two vehicles remained.

The BMW X3.

And the Fortuner GR Sport.

The dealership looked strangely empty.

The husband laughed.

"I guess I came at the right time."

Richard smiled.

"You did, sir."

The man pointed toward the BMW.

"That’s the one?"

"Yes, sir."

Just like all previous customers, they inspected everything.

The vehicle.

The papers.

The service history.

The paint.

The test drive.

The mechanic they brought.

Everything.

The inspection lasted almost three hours.

At the end of it, the developer smiled.

"I’ll take it."

Richard blinked.

Just like that?

No negotiation?

Apparently not.

The man looked toward his wife.

She nodded.

Then he looked back at Richard.

"My wife likes it. That’s usually the final decision."

Everyone laughed.

An hour later, the funds reflected in Phoenix Auto Trading’s business account.

The black BMW X3 slowly drove out of the dealership.

Silence followed.

Richard looked at the empty parking slot.

Then at the system screen.

[Ding!]

[Quota Progress Updated.]

[Current Profit Quota Progress: ₱48,780,000 / ₱50,000,000]

Silence filled the office.

He was close.

Very close.

Only ₱1.22 million remained.

One million pesos.

That was it.

The quota that once looked impossible was now practically within arm’s reach.

Richard looked outside.

Only one vehicle remained.

The white Fortuner GR Sport.

The final survivor.

The last piece of inventory.

The last vehicle from the original twenty.

The dealership had gone from looking like a luxury showroom to looking almost abandoned.

The empty spaces seemed ridiculous.

A fifteen-hundred-square-meter lot.

Huge roofing.

Container office.

Security cameras.

Fiber internet.

And one SUV.

One.

Richard couldn’t help but laugh.

At that moment, another message arrived.

Then another.

Then another.

Apparently, the Facebook page had become active again.

Several people were asking if the Fortuner was available.

A few were asking when the next inventory would arrive.

One message, however, stood out.

"Is the Fortuner still available? I can visit today."

Richard immediately replied.

"Yes, sir. It is still available."

The response came almost instantly.

"Okay. I’m thirty minutes away."

Richard sat upright.

Thirty minutes?

That was fast.

Very fast.

Apparently, the customer lived somewhere in Valenzuela.

True to his word, thirty-five minutes later, a gray Land Cruiser entered the dealership.

A man in his fifties stepped out.

He wore a polo shirt and loafers.

A woman, presumably his wife, followed him.

Then came a younger man.

Probably their son.

The customer looked around.

Then stopped.

His expression became strange.

He looked at the dealership.

Then at Richard.

Then back at the dealership.

"Did I come too late?"

Richard laughed.

"Actually, yes."

The man laughed as well.

"I saw your page two weeks ago. I should’ve visited sooner."

He pointed toward the Fortuner.

"So that’s all that’s left?"

"Yes, sir."

The customer sighed.

Then smiled.

"Good thing I like Fortuners."

The inspection began.

This time it was much faster.

The customer already owned several Toyotas.

He knew exactly what to look for.

The son inspected the interior.

The wife loved the condition.

The father checked the documents.

Then came the test drive.

Thirty minutes later, they returned.

The man stepped out.

Then smiled.

"I’ll take it."

Richard’s heartbeat suddenly accelerated.

No negotiation.

No hesitation.

Just like that.

The customer nodded.

"It’s clean. The price is fair. And honestly, my wife already likes it."

The wife smiled.

"Don’t blame me."

Everyone laughed.

An hour later, the money arrived.

The documents were signed.

The turnover was completed.

Then the white Fortuner GR Sport slowly rolled toward the gate.

The family waved goodbye.

Richard waved back.

And then...

The vehicle disappeared.

Silence descended upon Phoenix Auto Trading.

For the first time in months...

The dealership was empty.

Completely empty.

No BMW.

No Lexus.

No Audi.

No Fortuners.

No Camrys.

Nothing.

Only empty parking spaces remained.

The roofing cast long shadows across bare concrete.

The place looked strangely lonely.

Richard stood there for several seconds.

Then his phone vibrated.

[Ding!]

A blue holographic screen appeared before him.

[Quota Progress Updated.]

[Current Profit Quota Progress: ₱50,830,000 / ₱50,000,000]

Silence.

Richard froze.

His breathing stopped.

Then another notification appeared.

[Ding!]

[Profit Quota Completed.]

[Ding!]

[Conditions Satisfied.]

[Ding!]

[Preparing System Upgrade...] frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Richard stared at the glowing blue screen.

Then slowly looked at the empty dealership.

Then back at the screen.

A smile gradually appeared on his face.

Phoenix Auto Trading had no inventory left.

The lot was completely empty.

Yet for some reason...

He had never felt richer.

Because he knew.

Absolutely knew.

That the moment the upgrade finished...

Everything was about to change again.
