Chapter 1742: Chapter 951: Demon Prince Demogorgon
Twelfth Floor of the Endless Abyss, [Twelve Trees]
Lis looked at Stephens, who was trapped not far away, and was preparing to go over directly.
However, a sudden voice next to him made Lis’s hair stand on end.
To guard against any traps Demogorgon might have prepared, Lis had been constantly vigilant of his surroundings.
Yet, whether it was his dispersed spiritual power or the pre-cast reconnaissance magic, there was no feedback at all.
Who could evade his detection, even to the point of already being by his side?
This was certainly a rather dangerous situation for Lis.
Lis slowly turned to look, only to see a figure now standing by a rock about ten meters away.
It seemed like a seemingly normal young man.
He was bare-chested, with a bronzed and robust chest gleaming faintly in the dim light.
His lower body was simply wrapped in a black robe.
The robe was coarse in texture, casually tied around his waist, and billowed slightly with his subtle movements.
However, his skin was gray.
This gray was not the dull, lifeless kind, but possessed a unique texture.
On this gray skin were imprinted black patterns as dark as ink.
These patterns were strange in shape, like snakes or vines, winding and crawling over his body.
From the shoulder extending to the arm, then to the chest and abdomen, they seemed like the embodiment of some ancient spell, faintly emanating a dangerous aura.
His appearance was youthful, so handsome it was nearly perfect.
His thin, sensual lips curved slightly upwards, with an expression of curiosity or inquiry, quietly observing Lis.
In those eyes were a desire to explore the unknown, and an assessment of the person before him.
As if trying to see through Lis’s exterior to uncover the secrets deep within his heart.
Lis quietly watched the young man before him without speaking but furrowed his brows.
Though the presence in front of him gave off no aura, Lis had an impulse to turn and run.
It felt as if before him was an extremely terrifying existence.
"No need to rush away; my avatar doesn’t have any strength."
The young man smiled slightly, looking at Lis as he spoke:
"In fact, just a wave of your hand might cause this avatar to dissipate."
"Demon Prince Demogorgon?"
Lis was silent for a moment, then asked affirmatively.
"Looks like you’ve guessed."
The young man smiled slightly, his pure black eyes looking at Lis as he spoke.
Lis’s heart tightened a little.
Though he could sense that the avatar before him truly lacked strength, the divine nature still gave him a needle-like piercing pain.
On the surface, Demogorgon showed no hostility.
He stood there quietly, in a relaxed posture, without the slightest sign of an attack.
Yet, Lis felt a deep terror.
This terror emanated tangibly from Demogorgon’s body, permeating the surrounding air.
It was as if beneath that face lay extreme chaos and madness.
That chaos, like a raging tide, could devour everything at any moment.
That madness, like a rampant storm, capable of destroying all order in the world.
Lis seemed to see that behind the handsome face was a twisted and dark shell, filled with pain, despair, and endless evil.
Unconsciously tensing his body, he readied himself for battle.
His heartbeat too quickened, and he worked hard to calm himself down.
Yet that terrible feeling clung to him like a shadow, tightly entangling him.
Though now a demigod, in the face of Demogorgon, he still seemed so miserable.
Lis couldn’t help but lament for a moment.
Demogorgon’s appearance here must not be for a simple purpose.
It was well known that previously, whenever there was a chance, Demogorgon would personally attempt to kill him.
And now, he actually appeared here, looking as if he wanted to communicate something.
This was not considered a safe situation for Lis.
Even if this avatar of Demogorgon indeed had no strength, the Demon Prince’s means were rather frightening.
Lis didn’t want to fall into Demogorgon’s conspiracy due to his own carelessness.
"Is this the first time we’ve communicated?"
Demogorgon looked at Lis, smiling slightly as he said:
"In fact, I am quite curious about you."
"Although you and your teacher Stephens have caused me a lot of trouble."
"From the heart, I am still interested in you Arcanists."
"Especially you..."
Demogorgon’s eyes were deep black, as if wanting to see through all of Lis’s secrets.
"As a World Tree Favored, you actually chose the path of an Arcanist."
"More importantly, you actually became a demigod?"
Stephens remarked while looking at Lis, as if genuinely impressed.
Hearing this, Lis became even more cautious.
He didn’t expect Demogorgon to see through part of his power.
But judging by the situation, it seemed Demogorgon hadn’t sensed the more important things.
Like the [Wisdom] rule mastered by Lis.
"A bit of luck."
"It’s not just luck."
Demogorgon shook his head, speaking in a relaxed tone:
"For an Arcanist, this is something that can only be coveted and not touched."
"Since my existence, even those Magic Empires haven’t reached your level."
