Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Divine Forging Technique
Jiang Xu had plenty of time on his hands now. Free from the pressing dangers of a Secret Realm, he could afford to study the book in detail.
Jiang Xu immediately opened the *Divine Forging Technique* and began to flip through it.
After reading for a long while, Jiang Xu closed the book, lost in thought.
This Cultivation Technique was no exaggeration; it could indeed enhance one’s Spiritual Power and ultimately allow for the early formation of Divine Sense.
However, Jiang Xu discovered a problem.
This Divine Forging Technique was actually just something the Ancient Yan Family had prepared for children who were just beginning their cultivation journey.
As a result, the entire book wasn’t profound. It was simple and easy to understand, merely a crude, beginner-level Cultivation Technique. It didn’t even include methods for further cultivation beyond Foundation Establishment.
Clearly, the real substance was in the subsequent Foundation Establishment Chapter.
’What a pity,’ Jiang Xu thought, a bit insatiably. ’If I could get my hands on the Foundation Establishment Chapter, I’d quickly join the ranks of the experts after I break through.’
But Jiang Xu knew that was just wishful thinking.
Even in Ancient Times, a Cultivation Technique like this would have been a treasured item. It certainly wouldn’t be left casually in a place that so closely resembled a family study.
If it were here, it would surely be protected by a Tier Three Array, a place Jiang Xu couldn’t just waltz into.
After returning the *Divine Forging Technique* to his Storage Bag, Jiang Xu pulled up his status panel.
[Divine Forging Technique (Beginner): 0/100]
It had already appeared on the panel.
’As I thought, I can improve the Divine Forging Technique by grinding its Skill Level.’
Ecstatic, Jiang Xu immediately sat cross-legged. He straightened his head and back, gently closed his mouth, touched his tongue to the roof of his mouth, and lowered his eyelids until his eyes were nearly shut. Sinking his qi to his Dantian and relaxing his entire body, he began to enter a state of Meditation.
He was ready to start his Cultivation right away, not wanting to waste a single minute.
...
The human body has three Dantians, corresponding to the "Three Upper Grade Medicines": Essence, Qi, and Spirit.
The Lower Dantian is located three inches below the navel, at the Guan Yuan Acupoint. Also known as the Qi Sea, it is where qi is stored.
The Middle Dantian is located at the solar plexus between the nipples, at the Chest Acupoint. It is where Essence is stored.
The Upper Dantian is entered from between the eyebrows. One inch in is the "Bright Hall," two inches in is the "Wedding Chamber," and three inches in is the Upper Dantian itself, also known as the Sea of Consciousness. It is where the spirit is stored.
The Upper Dantian develops wisdom, preserves life and one’s nature, and integrates with the Primordial Chaos. The Middle Dantian absorbs energy, generates Essence, and nourishes the Postnatal body. The Lower Dantian cultivates Magical Power, Nourishing the Pill and Breaking Through barriers, and returns one to the Innate state.
When a Qi Cultivation Great Perfection Cultivator begins breaking through to the Foundation Establishment Realm, the final step is to condense and manifest Divine Sense within the Sea of Consciousness.
Divine Sense is, in essence, the product of highly concentrated Spiritual Power.
However, at this stage, when Divine Sense is born and released to perceive the surroundings, it is not a case of Spiritual Power actually leaving the body and entering the void. A Cultivator’s Spiritual Power is not yet strong enough to withstand the corrosive nature of the outside world.
Once a Cultivator reaches the Golden Core Realm, the viscous Magical Power in their Lower Dantian will condense, solidifying from a liquid into a solid to form the Golden Core.
Simultaneously, the Upper Dantian will open a Purple Mansion within the Sea of Consciousness for the Divine Sense to inhabit. This mansion will also nourish the Divine Sense. Ultimately, one must await the "Three Flowers Gathering at the Top," where Essence, Qi, and Spirit finally merge into one to gestate a Nascent Soul, thereby achieving the Nascent Soul Realm.
Jiang Xu was still at the most elementary stage.
The Spiritual Power in his Sea of Consciousness was still far too weak. To form Divine Sense, his entire focus had to be on enhancing his Spiritual Power.
Once his Spiritual Power was strong enough, his Divine Sense would naturally gestate, condense, and manifest.
As he began cultivating the Divine Forging Technique for the first time, he sat with his eyes closed. He first guided his imagination to picture the Sea of Consciousness above his head as a vast, boundless galaxy—a symbol of his own deep and unknown, yet-to-be-developed spiritual world.
Then, he shifted his focus inward, meticulously sensing and mobilizing the Life Force from every inch of his flesh, bone, and even internal organs. He visualized this Life Force as streams of pure, flawless Primordial Qi, like brilliant stars, slowly converging in the "galaxy" above his head.
This process involved using his own essence, qi, and Magical Power to nourish and illuminate that vast spiritual cosmos, thereby gradually coming to understand and unearth the body’s inner potential.
During this continuous cultivation, Jiang Xu could feel the energy being drawn from his body bit by bit. He felt increasingly light, yet also slightly drained.
He deeply understood that to forge his Spiritual Power, he needed a sufficiently powerful physique to back him up. Only then could he withstand the immense drain caused by spiritual cultivation.
The body is the vessel for the soul. Once the physical form is lost, the soul becomes like rootless water, unable to exist for long. The physical body is the foundation of everything.
When the physical body is strong, it nourishes the soul in return, increasing the soul’s strength as well.
Fortunately, Jiang Xu had already raised his physique to a level equivalent to the Body Refining Early Stage, allowing him to endure for much longer than an ordinary person.
As his cultivation deepened, the galaxy above his head, symbolizing his spiritual world, began to brighten. In its depths, hazy and ancient chains flickered in and out of view.
These chains were as numerous as hairs on an ox, as intricate as a neural network. Each one represented both a shackle on his Spiritual Power and its latent potential.
Jiang Xu instantly understood. These were the metaphorical constructs described in the *Divine Forging Technique*—the manifested form of the bottleneck in converting Spiritual Power into Divine Sense.
He took a deep breath and transformed the Primordial Qi gathered in his Sea of Consciousness’s galaxy into dazzling beams of light. Like the breaking dawn, they illuminated and struck at the chains.
Every impact was an attempt to break a seal, releasing a sliver of the powerful energy hidden within his spiritual world.
The cultivation process was far from easy. Jiang Xu had to maintain extreme focus and constantly adjust the balance of his Essence, Qi, and Spirit to prevent his body from collapsing due to over-exertion.
Cultivating Spiritual Power was not something that could be accomplished overnight. It required constant accumulation over time, a gradual breaking of one’s own limits to finally achieve a qualitative transformation.
As his cultivation progressed, the galaxy above his head grew ever more brilliant. The once-hazy chains began to clarify under the starlight and even started to show signs of loosening.
Just then, Jiang Xu felt waves of emptiness wrack his body, as if it were sounding an alarm. He snapped back to his senses and hurriedly withdrew from his meditative state.
As his consciousness returned to the real world, Jiang Xu felt refreshed and clear-headed. It was as if he had always been living in a hazy fog and had now broken through it, returning to a world of clarity.
Jiang Xu knew this was merely an illusion caused by the sudden increase in his Spiritual Power after cultivating the *Divine Forging Technique*.
RUMBLE!
Just then, a strange noise echoed through the shop.
Startled, Jiang Xu was instantly on alert, but a moment later, he realized what the sound was and felt a little embarrassed.
It was his stomach rumbling.
He was hungry.
His stomach was completely empty. Though his mind was clear, he was so hungry it felt like his stomach was stuck to his spine, and his body was incredibly weak.
’Good heavens,’ he thought. ’The toll this Divine Forging Technique takes on the body is immense. If it can drain even my physique to this extent, how could the children of Ancient Times have possibly endured it?’
The answer to that question simply came down to Jiang Xu’s own ignorance.
