Chapter 990: Chapter 27: Scouring the Enemy’s Lair (Part 2)

Duncan handed the lance to the attendant beside him, then walked towards Prince Yasang.

Wherever he went, warriors around him actively greeted him, and even members of the Purple Dragon Knight Order couldn’t help but bow their heads in respect.

"Lord Duncan." Prince Yasang was equally astonished.

He dismounted to greet him proactively.

Because he asked himself truthfully, he only had a fifty percent chance of withstanding Duncan’s previous lance charge.

"How many Orc strongholds are there nearby?" Duncan said in a low voice.

Prince Yasang thought for a moment, then looked up and said, "There are probably three Orc bunkers left, and the other roaming Orc raiders are not a threat."

That won’t allow us to kill too many creatures.

Duncan seemed slightly disappointed and said slowly, "I can’t stay in Tevinter too long. Tomorrow, we’ll deal with them in one go."

It still requires major events to have strong creatures to battle.

If it was the time when the Slaughter Divine Son was active, you could encounter high-tier or even legendary Orc warriors in the wild. However, Duncan was not worried, because a branch event of the Saint’s Calamity was coming soon. Rescuing Lady of Wealth Waukeen requires battling through one of the Three Giants of the Abyss’s demon lairs.

Night fell.

When Duncan returned, attendants from the Pleasure sect had already set up the tent. His personal attendants, regardless of gender, were quite skilled in serving others. Because enjoyment naturally requires service, many started as joyous attendants before advancing to the mid-high levels of the church.

A lavish meal was set, but there was no wine; Lord Duncan seldom drank when outside.

Lianna Flameheart was also making the bed, helping two attendants lay a velvet carpet from the storage bag inside the tent. An attendant took out a crystal lamp blessed with the Ever-Burning Flame, then tidied the tent’s corners, bowed, and exited.

These were all people from the Mother of Great Bliss’s side, and even when traveling, she indulged in luxury.

At this moment, Sharella, who had evidently freshened and dressed up, arrived. This was a desolate area with scarce water, but thanks to a priest’s water-creating spell, her damp golden hair hung down, exuding a lazy allure as she casually knelt beside Duncan. At some point, her fair legs now sported something akin to leggings. The civilization level in the Ferren realm allowed for the creation of stockings, but only the priests of the Goddess of Love fancied them, made of ice silk from subterranean spiders raised by the Zor Elves, and they were very pricey.

They are quite fond of beauty.

Not far from Duncan’s tent, Prince Yasang ate and stayed with the soldiers, occasionally glancing over with a sense of wonder at the Wealth Church’s formidable resources.

Duncan doesn’t indulge in such; he preferred to lead soldiers to victory and spoils rather than endure hardships with them.

He glanced at Sharella beside him, put down the desert roast meat in his hand, and said softly, "Any news?"

Sharella slightly lifted her long, drooping hair and said with a charming smile, "There’s a piece of news."

"You’ll definitely find it interesting."

Duncan noticed a magic pet appear, belonging to Sharella’s hired mage.

He looked up and said, "Let’s hear it."

Sharella picked up a silver cup, poured herself a glass of water, and unintentionally moved closer to Duncan, saying softly, "There’s news that Tyr’s church intends to forge an unprecedentedly powerful divine artifact."

"They are searching around the world for Tyra’s lost eye."

The Eye of Tyr?

Holy Avenger?!

Duncan indeed showed a glimmer of interest.

The Holy Avenger has already appeared by now, but not in its complete form. The strongest state of the Holy Avenger is when it’s embedded with the Eye of the God of Justice, Tyr; that’s when it becomes the mightiest tool against demons and evil.

This thing is specifically effective against demons and evil. If Duncan had it in hand, he could even vanquish demon lords directly.

"Have they found it?" Duncan said in a low voice.

Sharella shook her head and said, "It’s not that easy. Other forces wouldn’t easily allow such a powerful divine artifact to be born."

"Moreover, they already possess the Pale Justice."

At this, Sharella paused for a moment, observing Duncan’s expression, and seeing his apparent interest, she said, "Tyr’s church also asked for our help."

"Five-on-Gold provided some financial support and intelligence."

Duncan paused for a moment, then said in a low voice, "Find a way to help them, and seize the chance to borrow it."

"Maybe it can be used in the future when we find the Lady."

Holy Avenger.

This sword is almost impossible to monopolize, at best borrowed, because ultimately it belongs to the Paladin.

For Duncan to battle through the Bottomless Abyss, no weapon is more suitable than the Holy Avenger.

When Sharella heard Duncan’s words, her breath quickened. It seemed she associated it with something but remained silent, just staring at Duncan with a look of astonishment.

Could it be that this man already knows the whereabouts of the Goddess of Wealth?

She dared not ask.

But eventually, she took a deep breath and said, "Okay. I’ll do my best to handle it."

Duncan nodded in satisfaction, his gaze appreciative.

He even proactively offered Sharella some food, and this gesture of closeness made the bishop in front of him delighted, her smile even more captivating.

"The Dragon Spear you requested is almost forged."

"It will be delivered at the latest by the day after tomorrow."

Sharella put down the plate and said seriously, "If you’re going to use it, you’d better find a dragon as a mount."

"A celestial horse might not be suitable."

Duncan calmly replied, "I know."

"It’s okay."

"I’ll figure something out."

Currently, Duncan needs a dragon, preferably one capable of frontal combat. He has two options: one is the silver dragon of the Cormanthor Forest, though uncertain; the other is a local dragon, but Sun Embracer Oren might be difficult, as gold dragons are quite proud.
