Chapter 31: He’s a madman!
"Holy fuck! He’s a madman! A fucking madman!" A student almost burst out laughing as he pulled out his phone to record the scene.
Meanwhile, the others could only stammer in bewilderment.
"Is he insane? He killed a student right in front of a professor without the slightest hesitation. Does he think he’s still living in the feudal era, where a noble could kill anyone they wanted?"
...
"Yeah, he’ll spend the rest of his life in prison."
...
"Murderers have no place in society. They’re nothing more than worshippers."
In the arena, the professor couldn’t hide the frustration and anger twisting his expression as he raised a hand.
"The winner is you. However, under the academy’s rules, I have the right to expel you immediately. From this moment on, you’re no longer a student of Dawnreach Academy."
"You’re a criminal."
Then, a number of professors appeared in the arena. Some escorted the students out of the stands, while the others surrounded me.
I managed to control the monster inside me with [Cultivation Art of Soul Stabilization]. Even though it didn’t work as well as meditation, it was still enough for now.
I frowned in disappointment.
"What a disappointment... I didn’t think a professor like you would fail to notice something so obvious. Don’t tell me you got this position through connections instead of your own ability."
The professor grimaced in fury. Veins bulged across his forehead as he clenched his jaw and fists.
He shouted,
"Watch your mouth, brat. You’re a murderer now, so I have every right to kill you where you stand."
Another professor, who had an intelligent-looking face, asked suspiciously,
"What do you mean, Student Henry?"
I lazily pointed my thumb at the corpse.
"Check the corpse. Then you’ll know what I’m talking about."
The intelligent-looking professor walked over to the corpse and began examining it. A few minutes later, confusion and anger spread across his face.
He couldn’t help but click his tongue.
"Student Henry, you’re innocent. Please return to the dormitory. We will conduct a full-scale investigation."
I spoke in a neutral voice.
"My credits? I thought I’d done a good job for the academy."
The intelligent-looking professor sighed before checking his phone.
"I’ve transferred 200 credits to you."
I nodded calmly before returning to my wife.
"Thank you."
...
Some professors walked over to the intelligent-looking professor and asked,
"What happened, Professor Jonathan?"
Jonathan kept a stern expression as he stared at the corpse for a moment before replying,
"He’s a worshipper."
Silence.
"What? Are you kidding me? How could a noble’s child be a worshipper? Besides, I observed the entire fight. There wasn’t any unusual mana between them."
Jonathan clasped his hands behind his back as he explained,
"Because the mana within the corpse has almost completely merged with the [Blood Crystal Stone], it no longer gives off the stone’s unholy aura. I can tell this child has been using the [Blood Crystal Stone] for years to reach this state."
"He’s an addict, even a worshipper.’’
The professors’ expressions twisted with disbelief, but they had no choice but to accept the truth. Jonathan was a professor directly appointed by the Central Government. His authority and expertise were on an entirely different level from the other professors present here.
Then his eyes turned cold.
""Secure the corpse carefully, and send it to the laboratory for a forensic blood analysis report to confirm the presence of the [Blood Crystal Stone] before it evaporates. We need their confirmation as evidence."
"Also, delete every video of this fight from social media and the academy channel. Inform every student who witnessed it that they are forbidden from spreading false information outside the academy. We will not allow the academy’s reputation to be tarnished by a worshipper."
’’Yes, sir.’’ The professor nodded at once. Then, each of them did their job.
Jonathan stared at the corpse with an unpleasant expression. In truth, he knew there was something wrong with it. But he couldn’t explain it in detail. It was as if someone had forcibly infused all the essence from the [Blood Crystal Stone] into the corpse within a short period of time.
However, he quickly dismissed the thought.
"It’s impossible."

I walked over to my wife, looking at her with the same empty eyes as always. She simply stared back at me before swallowing nervously.
A faint smile spread across my soulless face as I asked,
"Did I scare you?"
My wife lowered her gaze, avoiding my eyes.
"Yes, you did."
She added,
"Now I feel like you could kill anyone without facing any consequences."
I shrugged before stepping behind her wheelchair and pushing it back toward our dormitory.
"Nah, I’m not invincible. I’m as weak as you can see."
My wife pouted her lips in a sulk, then after a moment of silence, a hint of anxiety appeared on her face. She asked me,
"Is it fine? I mean... even if you used that stone, nothing guarantees they won’t notice the strangeness in the corpse."
I nodded as I recalled the moment I had forced the stone into Thomas’s mouth with my punch.
"Maybe... but it will be fine the first time. It only starts raising suspicion when I do it a few more times."
"The first reaction of humans when witnessing something beyond their understanding is always denial. Very few people can accept it at first sight, especially something as vague as my stone."
My wife’s expression twitched slightly.
"You talk like an old man."
I didn’t deny it. My experience from my previous life had shaped a deep understanding of the world, especially of humans.
Because he understood that, he was never surprised or angered by their sudden outbursts toward him.
My wife lingered for a moment before asking me again,
"So... don’t tell me you still want to kill someone else?"
I didn’t answer, but there were already a few targets in my mind. I wasn’t sure who the mastermind behind everything was, but my actions today had already sent a clear message to them.
I was not someone you guys could pick a fight with.
If you guys want to, just be ready to die.
