Chapter 3: Potential: [SSS+]

’’What’s your name?’’ I asked.

The maid answered indifferently.

’’Luna.’’

She barely showed any respect for me, completely lacking politeness or a subordinate attitude. She continued trying to make my wife eat, ignoring me.

But, my wife didn’t even open her mouth even a little.

I walked closer to them and said,

’’Let me do it. You seem to lack the skills of a caregiver.’’

As if being provoked by my words, her eyes flashed with a hint of irritation. But then, she curled her lips. Her face was slightly disdainful toward me.

She nodded politely and handed me a bowl of porridge with one hand, not with both hands. She replied,

’’So, I’d like to see that from you, young master.’’

I took the bowl of porridge and scooped up a spoonful. My eyes carried a faint hint of coldness as I blew on it to cool it down.

Finally, I stepped in front of my wife.

Our eyes met.

Her eyes began to regain color, but not with the happiness of a wife being fed by her handsome husband, but with annoyance as she recalled me.

A useless piece of trash who had harassed her ever since the day we met.

"Fuck off." she mouthed, her lips forming the words coldly.

Luna nearly couldn’t control her chuckle. Then, she said with a full of politeness, yet behind it hidden deeply mocking.

"I think you failed,"

I didn’t get angry with my wife at all. Her reaction made sense.

I just glanced at Luna without showing any emotion, before I transferred my mana into the spoon, sharpening it.

Luna’s pupils widened in shock. I could tell she was already imagining what I was about to do.

Whether I was going to kill my wife or use some absurdly brutal method just to force her to eat.

The sound of fresh flesh being cut echoed through the room. Immediately after, a stream of blood splattered across my wife’s face.

Her eyes widened in visible shock and terror as she stared at me. Her heartbeat pounded violently, the scent of blood filling her nose. Especially when she saw the long, bloody cut across my palm.

"B-Blood... b-blood..." she stammered in horror. Her face grew pale as beads of sweat ran down her forehead, mixing with my blood.

Right, her fear. I remembered it very clearly after seeing it on the system.

I clenched my hand into a fist to hide my wound before bringing the spoon to her trembling lips.

My next word came out completely dead, cold, and frozen.

"Eat."

She didn’t say anything, lowering her gaze completely, not daring to meet my cold eyes. But I knew she was fully obeying me.

I brought the spoon to her lips, and she simply took it into her mouth and swallowed immediately. One spoonful after another, until the bowl of porridge was completely empty.

After finishing my task, I immediately walked toward the door. I wanted to leave this room right now. But I felt a strong grip on my shoulder.

I turned back, only to see Luna’s frozen eyes. She clenched her jaw in anger, confronting me. Her body released the mana of an F-Rank Awakener.

"You think you can leave after doing something like that to My Lady?"

My Lady ?

I thought there was something wrong here, but at that critical moment, I chose to stop thinking about it.

I couldn’t control the monster inside me any longer.

"Take your hand off."

My voice remained completely calm – neither threatening nor hostile – but for some reason, Luna immediately released her grip and let me go.

I didn’t know why, but it worked in my favor.

Three hours later.

In the bathroom, I sat on the floor with my back against the wall, holding my head as I stared at the ceiling for a long time, trying to calm myself.

When I was about to stand up, a familiar sound rang out and virtual texts appeared before my eyes.

Martial Arts:

– Close-Combat Art (SSS+):

Users who use the manual can master any close-combat technique in the world. All attacks are fast and effective, with no unnecessary movements or weaknesses for other techniques to exploit.

– Rapid Sword Technique (B)

Swordsmen possess lightning-fast slashes, able to perform a series of rapid thrusts without showing fatigue. However, there are still a few weaknesses.

Bloodline Skills:

– Basic Regeneration (E+) [Passive]

Your body automatically uses mana to rapidly regenerate wounds over a short time, consuming minimal mana.

I instinctively grinned while staring at the bright text ahead.

What a surprise.

I looked at my palm, which was healing at a fast speed. Soon, there was no sign of any cut anymore.

"Sorry, gods. I always choose my own way to do things."

I stretched my back before returning to my room. The joy of receiving the reward had already overtaken my exhaustion.

I never thought I could gain bloodline skills so easily like that. Moreover, I didn’t even need to learn art manuals, as if my wife’s techniques had merged into one with me.

"Such a broken cheat."

10 minutes later.

I opened my room and saw my wife already lying on the bed, leaving a space for me. Then I glanced at Luna, who was carrying a basin, heading out. She gave me a hostile look before leaving the room.

Now I remembered it again. I could tell she wasn’t an ordinary maid. I thought my father had sent her just to look after my wife, but it wasn’t that simple.

It looked like she had come here to protect her from me.

I didn’t know why, but thinking too much about it wasn’t a big deal. I just needed to ask her.

But I think it would happen soon. If I were in their position, I would act tonight to assassinate. There was no reason for a perverted Henry to stay with a member of the royal Pendragon family.

I could tell for sure after recalling my father’s expression when I signed the marriage paper.

A sense of relief, like he had finally set down a burden.

He needed that paper, not a useless trash like me.
