Chapter 247: Chapter 207: Everyone Awakens! The Overwhelming Fury of the Second Generation
Hearing this, many of the newly awakened students looked at each other. After checking themselves and finding no external injuries, the fury in their eyes wavered for a moment.
"Protection?"
Han Feng suddenly laughed.
It was a scornful laugh, as if he had just heard the biggest joke in the world.
"You two, do you really think it’s not murder as long as the knife doesn’t go in?"
Han Feng swiped a hand across the large screen.
A glaring red warning diagram filled everyone’s vision.
It was an energy simulation of the Weaver’s descent, along with the remaining time on the hibernation pods’ power supply system—the red "04:59" was particularly jarring.
"Come and see your so-called protection."
Han Feng pointed at the screen, his tone icy:
"They’re summoning a Tier Three high-dimensional energy consciousness that they can’t control at all."
"The moment it gets out of control, or if the Summoning Ceremony requires more ’fuel’..."
"...all of your several hundred hibernation pods will become ready-made ’canned goods.’"
"You won’t even have a chance to run. Your souls will be sucked dry in your sleep, turning you into rations for that monster."
Han Feng looked down at the ashen-faced Sun Changhe.
"Using several hundred of East Sea City’s future elites as backup batteries."
"President Sun, your scheming is so loud I could hear it all the way from the Outer City."
The temperature in the hall seemed to plummet to freezing.
Wei Chen’s hand froze halfway through adjusting his glasses, a cold killing intent gleaming from behind the lenses.
Su Yunxi’s nails dug so deep into her palm that blood began to seep out.
Everyone present was intelligent.
They didn’t need much of an explanation to instantly grasp the stakes.
To have their fates placed in someone else’s hands—and worse, in the hands of two madmen who would stop at nothing to achieve their ambitions.
This in itself was the ultimate humiliation, not to mention a blatant case of attempted mass murder.
"Sun Changhe..."
Lu Yunxiao gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his neck. The Wind Element around him surged violently, whipping his messy hair into a frenzy.
"If your plan had succeeded, the Sun Family and Star Sea Technology would have soared to new heights."
"And if it failed, we were supposed to be the sacrifice for your ambition?"
"Using us as bargaining chips? As consumables?!"
BOOM!
The fury that erupted simultaneously from several hundred Meridian Passage Realm elites made the very air in the underground base feel thick and heavy.
If looks could kill, Sun Changhe would have already been sentenced to death by a thousand cuts tens of thousands of times over.
Han Feng watched this scene unfold without any intention of stopping it. Instead, he added fuel to the fire:
"You know, I’m quite curious about something."
Han Feng leaned against the control console, a mocking look on his face as he scanned the crowd.
"All of you are usually so arrogant, looking down on everyone. Even when you go out without a Guardian, you’re still loaded with life-saving trump cards, aren’t you?"
"So how did all of you end up captured so neatly?"
"These two clowns only had a few dozen guards with them. Were they really able to take down over five hundred elites armed to the teeth?"
As soon as he said this, the murderous crowd instantly looked as if they were being choked.
One by one, they flushed red, averted their gazes, and stammered, unable to speak.
It was too humiliating.
This was like having their intelligence ground into the dirt.
"Well..." Lu Yunxiao scratched his head awkwardly, his gaze wandering. "Ahem..."
"It was the wine."
A clear, cold voice spoke up.
Su Yunxi stepped forward. Though her expression was grim, she spoke frankly:
"We ran into the Sun Family’s ’Safe Supply Station’ in the core area."
"Sun Changhe greeted us personally, under the guise of providing a sanctuary for Trial Takers."
"They had specially-provided Spirit Wine... We let our guard down. After all, the Sun Family is a Core Member of the council. Who would have thought..."
Su Yunxi bit her lip, not finishing her sentence.
Trust.
It was a trust built on the delicate balance between the major powers of East Sea City.
And the Sun Family had exploited it so cheaply.
"So basically, you all got taken out by a single meal."
Han Feng rolled his eyes mercilessly. "The most expensive things are the ones you get for free. You don’t even get that?"
The elites were so overcome with shame they wished they could find a hole to crawl into.
And that shame immediately transformed into a fiercer, purer hatred for Sun Changhe and Mo Sen.
If before they were furious because their lives were threatened...
...now, it was an overwhelming hatred born from having their intelligence insulted and their trust trampled.
"Alright, that’s enough reminiscing."
Han Feng clapped his hands, interrupting the crowd’s spiraling emotions before they lost control.
"The situation is bad."
"These two artificially extended the gray period. The descent of the High-dimensional Creatures is now irreversible, and this place is about to turn into a meat grinder."
"I tried to contact the outside world earlier, but the signal was blocked. In other words, we’re like fish in a barrel."
Han Feng looked at Su Yunxi. "Do any of you have a way to contact your families? Call for backup, now. We need someone to clean up this mess."
Lu Yunxiao cursed under his breath and pulled out two pieces of shattered jade. "They broke a while ago. The magnetic field interference is too strong."
The others also shook their heads.
"I do."
Su Yunxi retrieved a palm-sized Bronze Disc from an inner layer of her clothing.
It was covered in complex Space Runes and faintly emanated an ancient aura.
"It’s a Void Waymark. It can ignore the Secret Realm’s interference and forcibly open a one-way communication channel."
She paused, her expression turning sour.
"But activating it requires an enormous instantaneous burst of energy—at least a Tier Three Middle Grade Pure Energy Source. They took my Storage Ring."
Tier Three Middle Grade.
In a barren wasteland of a Secret Realm like this, where were they supposed to find a treasure of that level?
The hope in everyone’s eyes instantly dimmed.
"Tier Three Middle Grade?"
Han Feng raised an eyebrow. "Is that all?"
With a flick of his wrist, he casually tossed something over.
"Catch."
Su Yunxi reflexively reached out.
It was heavy in her hand, and an overwhelmingly dense surge of Star Power instantly exploded in her palm.
It was a fist-sized ore, its entire surface swirling with the light of a purple galaxy.
"This is..."
Su Yunxi’s pupils contracted, and her voice cracked. "A Top Grade Star Sand Ore?! This purity... you might not even find this in the core of a main vein!"
Nearby, Wei Chen, Lu Yunxiao, and the others looked as if their eyes were about to pop out of their sockets.
’Just where does this guy get his stuff?’
"Is it enough?"
Han Feng asked, a little impatiently.
"Enough... It’s more than enough!"
Su Yunxi took a deep breath, suppressing the shock in her heart.
Without another word, she quickly embedded the ore into the center of the disc.
BZZZZZ—!!!
A blinding pillar of cyan light instantly pierced through the thick layers of rock, ignoring all Force Field interference as it shot toward the heavens.
Seeing the signal sent, Han Feng dusted off his hands and turned to leave.
"Alright, the signal’s out. People from the outside will be here soon."
He pointed to the trembling Sun Changhe and Mo Sen on the ground.
"I’ll leave these two to you."
"They nearly got several hundred ordinary students killed in the Trading Hall. We still haven’t settled that score."
"I’m sure you young masters and misses can give them a ’fair’ trial, right?"
It was an overt scheme.
Han Feng didn’t want to get his own hands dirty, nor did he want to clash head-on with the Sun Family.
Handing these two culprits over to this infuriated Crown Prince Faction was both a way to kill with a borrowed knife and an easy way to curry favor.
"Han Feng!"
Lu Yunxiao suddenly yelled, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.
He stared intently at Han Feng’s back, his expression complex.
"I, Lu Yunxiao, will remember this favor!"
"From this day forward, the Lu Family owes you one!
You don’t need to dirty your hands with these two bastards. I’ll show them what true Hell is!"
Wei Chen pushed up his glasses, the lenses glinting.
"The Celestial Craft Group’s security department hasn’t had to work overtime in a long while."
Su Yunxi put away the disc and gave Han Feng a solemn nod.
"Thank you. I owe you my life."
Han Feng didn’t look back, merely giving a casual wave.
"Senior Han, where are you going?"
Su Yunxi couldn’t help but ask. "The Secret Realm is about to descend into chaos!"
"There’s still one more rat to clean up."
Han Feng’s voice echoed from deep within the passageway, carrying a reassuring sense of calm.
"Several hundred people at Wind Eye Market are waiting for me to come back and save them."
"I’m leaving this place to you. Don’t let those two old bastards get away."
BOOM!
Outside the base, dust and dirt flew into the air.
A massive Fusion Beast let out a low roar, and with a single beat of its wings, it carried that proud, solitary figure soaring into the sky.
Its destination: Wind Eye Market.
Left behind in the base were only the desperate screams of Sun Changhe and Mo Sen, about to be drowned by the crowd’s fury.
"AHHH—!!!"
"Young Master Lu! Not the face! Not the face!!!"
