She glanced back and noticed Mu Yeli keeping a steady pace, always staying behind her and watching her closely. She turned around and huffed, "Move faster; we’re almost at ten kilometers."
"Just keep running," he retorted.
Ye Ning once again hopped ahead.
Mu Yeli had to admit Ye Ning’s stamina was beyond what he had imagined.
Not many girls had such excellent physical stamina.
To her, ten kilometers was really not that big of a deal.
That’s why she ran and jumped so easily and tirelessly.
If it were anyone else running without pause like this, they would probably be panting heavily by now.
Just as she was close to the finish line, Mu Yeli, who was behind her, suddenly tugged at her collar.
Startled, Ye Ning turned and yelled, "Mu Yeli, what are you doing?!"
"Isn’t this a race?" he replied.

"Okay, the ten-kilometer run has ended," Mu Yeli turned around and stopped fully for the first time.
Ye Ning was struck silent.
She had been swooping around all this time and had forgotten to check the distance on her phone.
She looked down and saw that they had indeed run exactly ten kilometers.
That Mu Yeli, he had planned this all along!
Ye Ning seethed with anger, "You, you cheated!"
"Isn’t strategy part of the competition?" Mu Yeli replied.
"Ugh, what do you mean strategy?! This is cheating!"
"Okay, we can race again next time. If you’re upset, I’ll let you win," he offered.

With a huff, she poked out her tongue at him and started walking back with him.
They were greeted by the morning sun. After their run, they did feel incredibly refreshed.
When they reached the door of their home, they found someone waiting for them – Gu Xingzhi of the Presidential Palace.
He had come earlier and was surprised when the Mu’s servant informed him that the couple had gone for a run.
It was indeed rare to see Mu Yeli and Ye Ning going out to exercise together.
However, when he saw them return, it was even more of a surprise.
Mu Yeli and Ye Ning looked like a couple in love, wearing matching sportswear, looking keen and working hard. Even though their clothes were soaked with sweat, they still didn’t look the least bit disheveled.
Ordinarily, people drenched in sweat would look greasy and unattractive
However, Ye Ning, with strands of hair stuck to her forehead and her face full of vitality, looked utterly charming. It conjured up the word ’vivacious,’ with no negative connotations whatsoever.
Looking at Gu Xingzhi, Mu Yeli asked, "What brings you here?"
Gu Xingzhi said, "We’re having a banquet at home, so I came to deliver the invitation."
He gave the couple a once-over and laughed, "You two certainly keep healthy."
Mu Yeli nodded, "We just ran ten kilometers with Ye Ning."
Ten kilometers?
The two of them had run ten kilometers?
Gu Xingzhi turned to Ye Ning, truly surprised.
Who would have guessed, she had such impressive stamina.
Ten kilometers of jogging would take at least forty minutes. Most girls would have given up long before.
Mu Yeli asked, "When’s the banquet?"
"Tomorrow night. My sister is returning from abroad. It’s been two years since you last saw each other."
"Your sister? Gu Minzhi?"
"Yeah," he confirmed.
As she listened to their conversation, Ye Ning had no impression of this person called Gu Minzhi.
