Chapter 189: Moving Into Star Mansion!

And by selling her soul, she meant collecting an Awakening Syringe from Hakai… Nami didn’t know how Hakai managed to create the product but she wasn’t complaining as long as it brought her closer with Koya.

Nami cleared her throat, shifting her weight on the wooden park bench.

“Hakai…” Nami started, looking down at her hands. “I can call her that, right?”

Koya leaned back against the slats of the bench and shrugged his shoulders casually. “You can.”

Nami took a shallow breath.

“Hakai made a deal,” Nami explained, her voice dropping to a softer volume. “The deal allowed me to use one of her awakened syringes to awaken myself. And as payment for becoming an Awakened, I had to do something.”

She reached down to the hem of her oversized vintage shirt. Her pale fingers gripped the fabric, and she slowly lifted it upward, exposing her bare stomach to the cool park breeze.

Instead of her face, where magical Crests normally nestled and marked an individual’s power, her skin bore a completely different mark.

The glowing crest was burned directly onto her stomach. It formed a thick, straight blue line that started from the underside of her lower right breast and went directly down to her hip.

Koya stared at the vibrant blue light radiating from her skin with his purple eyes narrowing in genuine surprise.

“You hit Blue crest status already?” Koya asked.

Nami smiled, dropping the hem of her shirt back down to cover the glowing mark.

“Yes,” Nami said proudly. “I awakened as a Blue crest… so I didn’t have to go through the whole One to four Black Crest process.”

Koya was happy for her… but a bitter, undeniable sting of jealousy flared in his chest.

After all of the brutal, grueling effort that he had personally put into ranking up, shedding blood and fighting for every inch of power… she just took one single injection and bypassed the entire system in an absolute instant.

Koya pushed the jealousy down and focused on the transaction.

“Right,” Koya said, leaning closer to her. “You were saying that you had to do something for her to give you the Syringe? What did she ask you to do? I hope it wasn’t something weird.”

Nami immediately averted her gaze.

Her cheeks flushed a deep, feverish red, and she stared intensely at the duck pond in front of them. Koya felt a spike of worry. Hakai was unpredictable and ruthless… He genuinely worried that the dark-haired woman had requested her to do something really weird or entirely degrading…

Nami cleared her throat again with her fingers twisting together in her lap.

“Hakai told me this is confidential information,” Nami whispered.

She looked back up at him through her blonde eyelashes. “In exchange for awakening me, I have to submit my womb…”

Koya blinked, processing the raw words.

“Those were the exact words she told me,” Nami continued quickly, trying to justify the biological demand. “But it didn’t sound that weird in theory. She merely wants me to get pregnant for you again and again.”

Nami paused, letting out a small, nervous laugh. “And it is not only me. She told Yuna and Akemi the exact same thing.”

“Why?” Koya asked, his brow furrowing.

“In her words,” Nami explained, mimicking Hakai’s serious tone, “we need to have enough little Koyas running around to be qualified to become a Noble clan.”

It was a whole bunch of high-level clan politics and aggressive expansion tactics, but as long as Nami got Koya, she was completely happy with the terms.

And plus, being an Awakened now meant that she could actively defend herself from Awakened threats without needing to run away like a mundane, helpless human, so it was a highly good deal.

She then turned her body fully back to face Koya on the bench.

“The condition was exactly this,” Nami said. “As long as I stay right where I am.”

Koya nodded slowly with his mind analyzing the parameters of the deal.

‘That doesn’t sound like Hakai,’ Koya thought. ‘But she is changing, so it could have probably happened.’

Nami smiled, clearly relieved to have the heavy secret off her chest.

She picked up her plastic fork, stabbed it into the heavy chocolate cake resting in the cardboard box on her lap, and lifted another large piece up. She opened her mouth and was about to bite it.

However, Koya leaned his upper body down and aggressively bit into the piece of cake right off her fork.

Nami gasped in pure shock, her eyes widening as the fork was left entirely empty.

“Wow,” Koya said, chewing the rich dessert. “This cake tastes really sweet.”

He didn’t stop there.

He reached out, taking the plastic fork directly from her fingers, and took more massive bites straight from the box, fully determined to not be outdone on her own cake.

Nami laughed and she then grabbed a second fork from the paper bag and aggressively ate as well, playfully battling him for the chocolate frosting.

After going through the entire slice of cake, their faces leaned in close. The scent of rich chocolate and vanilla hung in the air between them, and their lips finally met.

It started as a small, sweet kiss tasting entirely of sugar.

Koya reached down, grabbed the empty cardboard box resting on her lap, and pushed it away to the side of the wooden bench.

Free of the obstacle, Nami shifted her weight. She completely climbed atop his lap, straddling his thighs with her tight black leggings, and wrapped her arms around his neck.

She pressed her body flush against his chest and kissed him deeper, parting her lips.

The crunch of hard-soled shoes against gravel broke through their isolated bubble. A mother and child entered the park, walking directly down the paved path.

The small child stopped, pointing a small finger directly at the bench.

“Hey Mom, see that?” the child asked loudly. “They’re kissing like people on Television!”

The woman gasped and she quickly reached down, tightly covering her child’s eyes with her hands.

“Nothing to see there,” the woman scolded. She grabbed her kid by the wrist and rapidly walked off down the path, her pace quickening until they were completely out of sight.

Koya and Nami finally pulled back from each other. A thin, silver strand of saliva joined their lips for a brief second before snapping.

Nami breathed heavily with her chest rising and falling against his. Through the thin fabric of her athletic leggings, she distinctly felt him turning incredibly hard against her trousers.

However, she didn’t escalate the physical intimacy. She leaned her face forward, extended her pink tongue, and smoothly continued by licking the chocolate crumbs directly on the sides of his lips.

“There, all clean…” Nami said with a soft satisfied smile.

She had waited a really long time for them to finally go on this specific, normal date, and she didn’t want to absolutely ruin the pacing by asking him to go somewhere private so they could quickly do the deed.

‘All that can happen later,’ Nami thought as she rested the side of her face gently against his solid chest.

Koya wrapped his arms around her waist and softly patted her back.

‘I want to show him a lot of places…’ Nami continued her internal planning, listening to the steady beat of his heart. ‘And we can taste different kind of sweets and Ice-cream.’

Koya let his hand trail down her spine.

“Shall we continue the date?” Koya asked softly.

Nami lifted her head from his chest.

“Yes…” she agreed.

She reached her slender hand directly down into his trouser pocket, her knuckles brushing against his thigh, and pulled out the heavy push keys of the luxury car then, she slid completely off his lap with her boots hitting the pavement.

She reached over to the bench and took hold of her heavy paper package of leftover pastries.ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

“This time,” Nami announced, dangling the keys from her index finger, “I’ll be the one driving.”

Koya stood up too, brushing the invisible dust off his tailored slacks.

He stepped forward, taking her arm and wrapping it securely around his own as they began walking back down the winding park trail to the parked car.

“What?” Koya asked, raising an eyebrow at her. “You think I can’t drive?”

Nami leaned her weight against his shoulder as they walked.

“Not at all,” she said, offering a teasing grin. “I’m actually surprised that you can. But where we’re going to on our dates, you actually need a Driver’s license, and so far you don’t have one…”

Koya blinked, the strict, boring reality of modern human laws hitting his ancient vampiric brain.

“Oh…” Koya muttered.

He really didn’t have a legal Driver’s license.

For a normal date in the commercial district, getting pulled over by traffic cops would be a massive annoying hassle.

They reached the sleek black car parked by the curb. Nami walked around the hood and entered the driver’s seat, tossing her package onto the back leather cushions.

Koya opened the door and entered the passenger seat, buckling himself in.

Nami pushed the ignition button. The dashboard lit up in a bright display, and she revved the heavy engine on and the powerful machine purred aggressively beneath them.

“Oho~” Nami hummed, her eyes lighting up with excitement. “This car sounds really good.”

Koya grabbed the leather handle above the window. “Just don’t drive too fas—”

Before he could finish the warning, she reached down to the center console. She aggressively adjusted the handbrake, slamming it down with a loud click, and then violently pushed her foot down entirely on the Accelerator.

The heavy luxury car lurched forward with immense, terrifying torque with the tires screeching against the asphalt as it went rocketing down the main road.

“Woooo! I’m driving again!” Nami screamed over the roar of the engine.

A black luxury Limousine pulled away from the curb, its tinted windows reflecting the afternoon sun.

Miyuki’s legs trembled violently beneath her designer skirt. She stood on the paved driveway, both of her hands tightly holding the handle of a heavy bag of luggage.

Standing right next to her was Kaede. The maid used to strictly be her and her brother’s personal maid, serving the main household, however, she was now exclusively Miyuki’s personal maid.

The Aozora clan heiress trembled some more with the sound of heavy gears grinding echoing in her ears as the uniformed maids from the inside of the compound slowly opened the massive, towering iron gate.

‘This is where Koya-kun lives…’ Miyuki thought, her eyes widening at the sheer scale of the estate.

The sprawling grounds, the impeccable landscaping, and the towering architecture of the mansion were breathtaking.

Koya was supposed to be a regular person from a lower standing, so how did he manage to legally live in such a heavily fortified, luxurious mansion?freēwebnovel.com

Regardless of the financial mystery, Kaede stepped forward. She placed a warm, reassuring hand firmly on the trembling girl’s shoulder.

“My lady,” Kaede told her, her voice calm and steady. “We should go in and meet Koya-kun. You have to apologize too.”

Miyuki nodded her head, physically swallowing the hard lump of anxiety forming in her dry throat.

She gripped her luggage handle tighter and began moving forward.

Their heels clicked against the pristine cobblestones as they passed the massive iron gates of Star Mansion and entered inside the compound.

As soon as they crossed the threshold, the maids closed the heavy metal door completely behind them with a loud resounding clang of finality.

Miyuki kept her eyes focused on the massive wooden front doors of the estate.

She had to apologize for exactly how she had completely ignored him after the grueling Impostors Among Us exam.

It was just a brutal, stressful virtual game, and she knew she completely didn’t act the way a regular, supportive Fiancee did after a match.

However, exactly as they reached the front door, it swung open.

A tall woman with straight black hair stepped out onto the marble porch.

She was wearing casual, comfortable indoor clothes, and she immediately raised her hand casually adjusting her wire-rimmed glasses against the bridge of her nose.

Miyuki stopped completely in place with her breath hitching in her throat.

The strange woman had a highly prominent, star-shaped silver crest glowing vibrantly right on her face.

To an untrained eye, the massive magical mark almost looked fake due to the fact it was a star but Miyuki possessed the high-tier magical education of a noble heiress.

She could instantly tell that the mana radiating from the mark was completely real even if she was hiding it.

‘Why is a Silver crest powerhouse even here in the first place?!’ Miyuki thought, her heart hammering against her ribs in terror.

Hakai stood at the top of the marble steps, looking down at the trembling blue haired girl.

“Welcome to Star Mansion, Aozora Miyuki, and you too, Kaede,” Hakai announced with a smile on her face. “I was told that during your engagement, Koya had said that you would actively move in with him and apparently, the time for that is now… so once again, welcome to Star Mansion.”

Miyuki physically trembled, her knuckles turning white around her luggage. She cleared her throat, desperate to maintain some semblance of noble dignity in the presence of an absolute monster.

“If I may ask…” Miyuki stammered with her voice cracking slightly. “Who are you?”

Hakai’s lips curled upward as she smiled kindly as though she was a sweet angel… She needed to have a good impression since they would be living together.

“Who, me?” Hakai asked, adjusting her glasses once more. “I’m just Koya’s first wife. You may refer to me as Amagi Hakai.”
