Chapter 650: Paren Bargained For Dahlia
Dahlia froze for a second after hearing that Garion was rejecting the offer.
And that only meant one thing.
Dahlia pointed at herself. "Master, you mean I’m going to become a Star Realm being too?"
Garion looked at her and nodded casually. "Yeah. From what I can see, you’re already at Peak Awakening Realm."
Dahlia’s breathing paused.
Garion continued, "Your foundation is solid, and your body has already been pushed to the limit. So, yeah, you can try to break into Star Realm."
For a moment, Dahlia did not speak.
Then soon after, her grin stretched wider and wider. "Finally. I’m going to become Star Realm too. I’ve been waiting for this for so damn long."
Meanwhile, inside the communication projection, Paren’s expression looked worse and worse. "Garion."
Garion looked at him. "Yeah?"
Paren pressed his fingers against his forehead. "Can’t it wait?"
Garion blinked. "Wait?"
Paren took a deep breath. "Yes. Wait. Just let her stay at Peak Awakening Realm for now. The Decennial Grand Tournament is still coming, and Dahlia is currently your best candidate."
Dahlia’s grin stiffened slightly. "Wait, what?"
Garion shook his head. "No can do."
Paren frowned. "Why not?"
Garion pointed at Dahlia. "The better she becomes, the better God Gym becomes. If she can reach Star Realm, then she should reach Star Realm. That’s the whole point of training."
Paren’s face twitched.
Garion then smiled. "Besides, don’t we have some other Star Realm tournament?"
Paren stared at him.
Alira slowly turned her head toward Garion.
Dahlia also looked at him.
Garion blinked. "What?"
Paren’s voice became tired. "Goddamn it, Garion."
Garion frowned. "What did I say?"
Paren looked at him like he was speaking to the most troublesome person in the universe. "Becoming Star Realm is not easy."
Garion nodded. "I know."
"No, you clearly do not," Paren said immediately. "Most Peak Awakening Realm cultivators spend years, decades, or even longer preparing. Some fail forever."
Rovak, who was still sitting nearby, laughed loudly. "Hahaha! I did it in one day!"
Paren looked at him sharply. "You are not helping."
Rovak grinned. "I know."
Paren sighed heavily. "Even for my position as a terminal manager, one of the requirements is being Star Realm."
Garion raised an eyebrow. "Is there a Star Realm tournament here or not?"
Paren became silent.
Garion’s grin widened. "There is, right?"
Paren clicked his tongue. "Yes, there is."
Dahlia’s eyes lit up again.
Garion smiled. "Good."
Paren immediately added, "But it is still far away. It is not like the Decennial Grand Tournament. The Star Realm tournament is held only once every century."
Both Garion and Dahlia paused.
Garion frowned. "Once every century?"
Paren nodded. "Yes. And the next one is still a long time away."
Garion stared at him. "Damn."
Paren stared at Garion for a long moment, then slowly exhaled. "Garion... can’t she wait just for this tournament?"
Garion raised an eyebrow.
Paren continued, "The Decennial Grand Tournament is not a small event. It only happens once every ten years, and every Astral Cosmic Terminal will be watching. If Dahlia joins as your representative and wins again, God Gym’s reputation will explode even further."
Dahlia’s eyes immediately lit up.
Garion rubbed his chin.
Paren saw that and quickly continued, "You wanted customers, right? You wanted God Gym to become famous. This is a perfect chance. You can let Dahlia break through after the tournament."
Dahlia’s expression stiffened again. "Wait, why are we discussing delaying my breakthrough like I’m not standing right here?"
Rovak laughed. "Hahaha! Little dragon, looks like your boss wants to sell your fame first."
Dahlia glared at him. "Shut up, big idiot."
Paren ignored them and looked at Garion seriously. "Just this once. Let her wait." freewebnoveℓ.com
Garion thought for a moment.
Then he shook his head. "Still no."
Paren’s face fell. "Why?"
Garion smiled casually. "Because training comes first. If Dahlia can step forward, I won’t hold her back just for advertising."
Dahlia blinked.
Then her grin slowly returned.
Garion then added, "But don’t worry. I still have other disciples."
Both Paren and Alira froze.
Alira slowly turned her head toward him. "Other disciples?"
Paren narrowed his eyes. "You mean... disciples from your old world?"
Garion nodded. "Yeah."
Alira’s face twitched. "So you are saying that you’re depending on your luck to meet them again in this vast Cosmic Universe?"
Garion smiled.
Paren stared at him.
Alira stared at him.
Dahlia looked away.
Rachel quietly smiled in the distance.
Even Rovak, who did not understand the whole situation, could feel something strange in the air.
Paren’s expression became flat. "Garion."
Garion blinked. "Yeah?"
"Tell me the truth." Paren’s eyes narrowed. "You actually did not just happen to encounter them by luck, right?"
Garion’s smile became slightly weaker. "Hehe..."
Paren closed his eyes.
Alira covered her face with one hand.
Dahlia muttered, "Master, that laugh makes you look guilty."
Garion looked at her. "Traitor."
Paren took a deep breath, then finally waved his hand. "Fine. I don’t care about that."
Garion’s eyes brightened. "Really?"
Paren opened his eyes and stared at him. "As long as you help me."
Garion grinned. "That’s more like it."
Paren pointed at him through the projection. "And these other disciples of yours. They are strong, right?"
Garion’s grin widened with confidence. "Of course. Don’t worry about that."
Paren stared at him for a few seconds, then sighed heavily.
For some reason, that confidence did not make him feel reassured.
It made him more nervous.
Alira glanced at Paren. "So what should I do?"
Paren looked at her. "Give him all the tournament information, and basically anything important."
Alira nodded. "Understood."
Paren then looked toward Rachel and Giselle. "Also, register those two new people properly. If they are staying in the Cosmic Universe, they need official identities."
Alira nodded as she opened her equipment again. "Yes, Manager Paren."
Paren then looked at the entire group through the projection again and suddenly felt a headache coming.
"Why do I feel like God Gym is going to become my biggest achievement and my biggest disaster at the same time?"
Garion grinned brightly. "Because you have good eyes."
Paren stared at him. "I hate that you might be right."
