Chapter 13: Chapter 13: The Wolf in the Sheets

Yue-Senn Tokio Kageyama POV

I sat on the small couch in the shadows of the inn, the only sound was the steady thrum of my own heart until I heard it. A scrape of leather against stone. A soft, defiant grunt. Then, a shadow tumbled through my window, landing in a messy, agile heap on the rug.

I flicked the lamp. The gold light spilled over her, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe.

She looked like a goddess, a disheveled secret. She was drowning in an oversized shirt, her silver hair pulled back in a high ponytail with loose strands of red that exposed the line of her neck. She looked small. She looked fragile. But the fire in her eyes told me she was anything but.

"I knew you would be a sneaky little mouse," I said. My voice was a low rasp, thick with a hunger I hadn’t prepared for.

"Did you just compare me to a disgusting rodent?" she snapped.

I stood, my frame unfolding until the top of my head nearly brushed the rafters. I walk toward her closing the space between us. I leaned down, my face inches from hers, watching the way her pupils dilated.

"Did I offend you, Princess? Or was it ’thief’ you preferred?"

She didn’t flinch. She leaned in, her heat radiating through my clothes. "At least a thief is not a pest."

I let out a dark, guttural chuckle that vibrated in the inches between our lips. I watched her bottom lip tremble not with fear, but with the same electric tension that was making my own skin itch.

"Why the window, Princess? Too many guards at the door? Or are you afraid your parents would have a fit if they knew you were here this late?"

I leaned closer, turning my head to position my lips against the shell of her ear.

"Even the walls have ears in this city, I am only here to tell you I accept moving the wedding date up." she responded has she shoved me by my shoulder, I took a few steps back. I couldn’t help but being closer to her so I stepped closer again closing the gap.

"Why not a call, Princess? Did you miss me that much you just had to tell me in person? I’d like to show you exactly what happens when you catch a wolf’s attention"

"I don’t know what delusions you’ve got," she breathed, her voice a ragged whisper that sent a jolt of pure adrenaline straight to my gut.

My heart hammered against my ribs like a battering ram. God, I wanted more than just holding her wrist, it’s driving me insane. I wanted to see if she tasted as sweet as she smelled. But the heavy boom of a fist against the door shattered the air.

"My King! A royal guard from the Vhaelor family! The second Princess is missing."

The world shifted. If her father found us like this, this room would be signed in my blood.

"Shit," we hissed in unison looking at each other with a panic look.

I didn’t think. I acted on raw instinct. "excuse me Princess" I scooped her up. She was so light, so deceptively soft and threw her onto the bed. I ripped my shirt open, the buttons pinging off the floor like hail as I bared my chest to the cold night air. fгeewebnovёl.com

"What the hell are you doing?" her face turning a deep red.

"Be quiet and play along," I growled. I dove under the heavy sheets, dragging her warm body directly beneath mine. The sudden, raw contact was a shock. My bare chest against her thin linen shirt was torture as I could feel her nipples brushing against my chest through her shirt.

"Take off your pants. Now."

"I am not—" freēwēbηovel.c૦m

"Do you want them to find you?" My face so close to hers I could feel the frantic puff of her breath.

"Either you do it, or I do. Choose."

She kicked them off with a panicked groan tossing them onto the floor with one quick motion just as the door burst open. I positioned myself between her legs, hooking one of her thighs over my shoulder to block the guards view of her. The friction was agonizing.

Every time she breathed, her chest pressed against mine. Every time she moved, her bare skin grazed my hips.

Then he spoke "Who are you with under there?" He asked even his voice commanded power.

"My lover," I told the guard, my voice sounding like gravel being crushed. Her moving around was not helping. Hearing the foots steps approaching the bed it was time to sell the lie.

I buried my face in the curve of her neck. I meant for it to be an act, but the moment my lips touched her skin, the performance died. She tasted like a freshly cut and juiced peach with a hint of sugar added. What was this? I kissed the spot below her ear, and she let out a moan a soft, broken sound that went straight to my blood. The foot steps stopped. I want to hear more, I want more of her.

I forgot the guards. I forgot the contract.

I kissed her again lower on her neck, harder this time, my teeth grazing her skin. I suck that shot as though I was drinking from a straw. Her hands found my shoulders, her fingers digging into my muscles, tracing the snake tattoos that wound up my back.

"The lack of respect for the Princess is disgusting." the guard said angrily as they stormed out the room slamming the door behind them.

Then, her hand wandered lower tracing the snake tattoo that wrapped around going down to my hip. She was curious, innocent, and completely unaware of the lethal game she was playing. I pulled back to look at her eyes that were now closed from embarrassment. She was adorable.

It was too late I was already growing hard, I wanted to devour this little lamb laying in my bed for the taking. I watched as her fingers closed around it I was struggling to hide how satisfied I was that she had the courage to touch me like this.

The very physical proof of how much she affected me. She squeezed it gently and then gave it a small pull towards her. I let out a strangled, guttural groan, my forehead dropping against her shoulder as I fought for air.

"Do you... do you have a pet in here?" she asked, her voice small with a hit of shyness which was so unlike her. I almost laughed, even as my body screamed in protest. I enjoy seeing this side of her.

"No! A wolf doesn’t need pets"Then, she squeezed harder.

I snatched her wrist, my breath coming in jagged, uneven gasps. "Hey! I said its not a pet."

The realization hit her like a lightning bolt. Her eyes shoot open and then went wide, and for a second, we just stared at each other, our hearts beating a frantic, shared rhythm. She shoved hard, I didn’t have time to brace myself has I hit the bed post. This the hardest she had shoved me snice we meant. Has she scramble for her clothes, her face a beautiful, chaotic ruin of embarrassment.

I stayed on the bed, collapsed staring up at the ceiling, my body aching and my mind a total wreck. I had come here to win a political game. But as I watched her scramble back out the window, without looking back I realized the truth.

I wasn’t the predator in this room. She was the one who had just trapped me.
