Chapter 155: Chapter 155 Proving Them Wrong
Sylvia’s POV
The morning light filtered through the curtains as I slowly opened my eyes. Caesar was still asleep beside me, his powerful form relaxed in slumber. I took a moment to admire his strong jawline and those thick dark lashes that any woman would envy. The events of the previous night flashed through my mind, sending a delicious shiver down my spine.
I traced a finger lightly along his cheekbone, satisfied with my choice. My wolf purred contentedly within me, finally at peace after denying her true nature for so long.
Caesar’s eyes fluttered open, those piercing blue orbs immediately focusing on me with an intensity that made my heart race. A slow, predatory smile spread across his face.
"Morning, little mate," he rumbled, his voice husky with sleep. "Enjoying the view?"
I matched his smile with one of my own. "Just checking if last night was as good as I remember."
In one fluid motion, he rolled me beneath him, pinning my hands above my head. "And your verdict?" He nipped at my earlobe, sending sparks of pleasure through me.
"Not bad," I teased, enjoying the flash of challenge in his eyes. "Though I might need a reminder."
His low growl vibrated against my throat as he pressed his hips against mine, letting me feel exactly how ready he was for that reminder. "Careful what you ask for, Sivi. You’re already walking with a limp."
"Is that concern I hear from the big bad Wolf King?" I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling him closer.
"Consider it professional pride." His lips found mine in a searing kiss that threatened to melt my resolve. "I want you able to walk into your office and handle whatever challenges await you today."
Reality crashed back as I remembered Frostline Enterprises. With reluctance, I placed my hands against his chest. "Speaking of which..."
Caesar groaned but rolled off me. "Business before pleasure, I suppose." His fingers traced lazy patterns on my bare stomach. "Though I much prefer you in this boardroom."
"Save that thought for tonight," I promised, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before slipping out of bed.

The office was buzzing with nervous energy when I arrived. Whispers followed me through the corridors, employees huddling together like scared rabbits.
"Have you heard about the international project? It’s in trouble!"
"How is that possible? The CEO just finalized everything with John at the gala!"
"What exactly happened? I thought the deal was secured..."
I ignored the chatter, making my way to my office with measured steps that betrayed none of my concern. Davidson was already pacing when I entered, looking like he might wear a path in my expensive carpet.
"How can you be so calm?" he burst out the moment I settled behind my desk. His eyes were wide with panic, hands gesturing wildly. "The LC Group contract is falling apart!"
I raised an eyebrow, taking my time preparing tea from the pot on my desk. "And how would you suggest I react, Davidson? Should I pull my hair out? Have a public meltdown?"
He stopped pacing, momentarily struck silent.
I took a deliberate sip of my tea, letting the warmth slide down my throat. "Business deals fall through sometimes. It’s hardly the apocalypse."
"But John completely reversed course! After all that smiling and handshaking at the gala!" Davidson resumed his frantic pacing. "This isn’t just any deal—it’s the cornerstone of our expansion strategy!"
Standing, I moved to the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the city—my territory, both as a businesswoman and as the future Alpha of Frostfang. "Do you know what separates successful leaders from failures, Davidson? The ability to maintain composure when everything seems to be falling apart."
"Even if I spent the entire day panicking, would that magically fix our contract?" I turned to face him. "Sometimes the best strategy is to wait and observe. Understand your opponent’s motives before making your move."
Davidson’s shoulders dropped slightly as my words sank in. "So what’s our next step?"
"Contact John. Schedule a meeting—tell him I want to speak with him personally." I straightened my blazer, my wolf stirring restlessly beneath the surface. "And do something about those rumors circulating. The last thing we need is a pack of nervous employees spreading panic."
"Consider it done," Davidson nodded, newfound determination in his eyes.
After he left, I let my perfectly composed facade slip just slightly. The LC Group contract was crucial—not just for Frostline’s bottom line, but for my position as CEO. Too many people were waiting for me to fail, eager to prove that a wolf like me couldn’t handle both pack leadership and business success.
My phone buzzed with a message from Caesar: "Missing you already. Dinner tonight?"
A smile touched my lips as I typed back a confirmation.

Davidson returned looking defeated, his earlier confidence completely deflated. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"They wouldn’t even see me," he reported, anger evident in his tight voice. "John’s assistant was completely different from before—arrogant, dismissive. Said if Alpha Astra’s heiress wants a meeting, she should come herself rather than sending ’minor characters.’"
I leaned back in my chair, fingers steepled under my chin. "Those were his exact words? ’Alpha Astra’s heiress’?"
Davidson nodded vigorously. "He acted like I was beneath notice! Said John would only speak with you directly."
"Interesting." Very interesting, actually. The deliberate mention of my mother suggested this wasn’t just about business—it was about pack politics.
"Should I be offended on your behalf?" Davidson asked, clearly still bristling. "That assistant was completely out of line!"
I waved a dismissive hand. "He’s just following orders. No assistant would dare speak that way without explicit permission from their boss."
Davidson seemed to deflate further. "So what now? Do we just give in and go to them? Doesn’t that make us look weak?"
"Pride is expensive, Davidson." I rose from my chair, smoothing down my skirt. "Remember this—face means nothing if your pockets are empty. We need this contract."
"But—"
"The strongest wolves know when to bare their teeth and when to lower their heads." I gathered my portfolio and phone. "Let’s pay John a visit. I’m curious to see what game he’s playing."
