Chapter 395: Chapter 395: The Spear and Shield of Space Magic
When Li Wei saw the Space Mage smile, his heart skipped a beat. He knew he was in danger.
His Spiritual Power keenly detected a faint spatial fluctuation forming around him.
The spatial fluctuation rapidly intensified.
The Space Mage’s eyes narrowed as he unleashed his full Mana.
"Space Lock!"
CLANG! CLICK! CLICK!
The space around Li Wei froze. He was completely unable to move, locked in place.
He suddenly understood.
His opponent had used Dimension Slash intentionally to force him to dodge.
The Space Mage had already set a Space Lock trap in the area.
And he had just walked right into it.
"Dimension Slash!"
This time, Li Wei couldn’t dodge.
The pitch-black Dimension Slash tore through space as it closed in on Li Wei.
The Space Mage advised, "You still have time to surrender. If you get hit by that Dimension Slash, the Elder monitoring this Secret Realm might not be able to save you."
Li Wei just smiled. "Thanks for the warning."
"Since you were kind enough to warn me, let me return the favor. Watch your back."
Stunned, the Space Mage instinctively glanced behind him.
A black shadow lunged at him.
The Shadow Attendant was attacking the Space Mage from behind.
The Space Mage sneered. "Is that all you’ve got?"
"Can your servant possibly break my Space Shield?"
He was filled with contempt.
Li Wei smiled. "I wouldn’t be so sure."
The Shadow Attendant lunged at the Space Mage, passing directly through the incredibly sturdy Space Shield.
It bored straight into the Space Mage’s body.
The Shadow Attendant was a Nightmare.
He had always been a Nightmare.
A Space Shield could only block tangible physical and Magic Attacks.
It was useless against intangible assaults like spiritual or curse attacks.
It also couldn’t stop a Nightmare’s possession attempt.
Given Li Wei’s current status and power, he no longer needed to hide the fact that his Shadow Attendant was a Nightmare.
The Shadow Attendant bored into the Space Mage’s body and began fighting him for control.
Caught completely off guard, the Space Mage was careless for just a moment, allowing the Shadow Attendant to seize control.
A single moment was all Li Wei needed to regain his mobility.
"Flame Lord!"
Li Wei underwent Fire Elementalization. The Dimension Slash sliced his body in two right down the middle.
The central part of his body was completely devoured.
Li Wei felt nearly thirty percent of his Mana vanish into thin air.
The power of the Dimension Slash was truly terrifying.
But it could no longer deal him a fatal blow.
"Unleash the Flame Domain!"
FWOOSH!
The Flame Domain enveloped the entire fighting ring.
The Space Mage stood frozen on the spot, his expression shifting constantly as he fought the Shadow Attendant for control of his body.
PFFT!
A cloud of black mist erupted from the Space Mage’s body.
The Shadow Attendant had lost.
After a brief struggle, the Space Mage had successfully regained control of his body.
His own Spiritual Power was formidable, giving him the upper hand.
It was only due to a moment of carelessness that the Shadow Attendant had managed to affect his mind and seize his body.
Once he came to his senses, he quickly expelled the Shadow Attendant and reclaimed control.
But by the time he recovered, he found himself being roasted alive.
The entire ring was engulfed in flames, and Li Wei’s figure was nowhere to be seen.
He had merged with the flames.
The Space Mage glanced around and shouted, "It’s useless! Your flames can’t possibly break my Space Shield."
"If we drag this out, you’ll be the first one to run out of Mana."
The surrounding flames looked intimidating, but they posed no real threat to his Space Shield.
The Space Shield utilized the Power of Space, making it far sturdier than an ordinary Magic Shield.
Without some special method, there were only two ways to break a Space Shield.
The first was to possess the ability to shatter space itself.
The second was to use relentless attacks to deplete the wielder’s Mana.
Once their Mana was gone, the Space Shield would shatter on its own.
The ability to shatter space was something that not even a Tier Six Mage necessarily possessed.
Unless it was a very specific, special ability.
"Space Ripping Skill!"
RRRIP!
The Space Shield was torn open, a jagged crack spreading across it like a centipede.
The Space Mage looked shocked. "How do you know the Space Ripping Skill?"
Li Wei let out a laugh. "Go ask your own people."
He shoved an azure Fireball through the crack in the Space Shield and turned to leave.
BOOM!
The explosive flames poured out from the only opening in the Space Shield.
A green firework shot out from the sea of fire.
CRACK!
"I admit you’ve got some skills, but if you think you can beat me that easily, you’re dreaming."
Li Wei turned his head to look.
The Space Mage had appeared on the other side of the ring.
He had already escaped the blast zone when the explosion occurred.
’Teleportation?’
Li Wei’s eyes narrowed.
’With his power level, he shouldn’t have been able to escape the instant the explosion went off.’
’Unless he set something up in advance.’
’That’s the only way he could have activated it in the split second before the blast.’
A void surrounded the Space Mage, and the flames could not get near him.
He stared at Li Wei, his eyes glowing with a silver-white light.
"Dimensional Killing Array!"
VMMMM!
Space began to vibrate, and four spatial orbs materialized around them.
RRRIP!
Countless microscopic spatial rifts, like fine threads, appeared within the attack range of the Dimensional Killing Array.
These spatial threads possessed unparalleled cutting power.
Nothing could block them.
In the blink of an eye, Li Wei’s body was sliced to pieces.
The pieces scattered across the ground, dissolving into flowing flames that then dispersed.
"It’s useless! You can’t hide inside the Dimensional Killing Array!" the Space Mage declared with absolute confidence.
VMMMM.
The four spatial orbs vibrated. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Causing the surrounding space to vibrate along with them.
Li Wei was forcibly shaken out of the sea of fire.
Even though he had transformed into the Flame Lord and could merge with the sea of fire...
...in essence, the sea of fire was just camouflage.
He wasn’t true fire.
The Flame Lord Body was an aggregate of Elemental Energy.
Fire, on the other hand, was the dissipation of that energy.
Seeing that he could no longer hide, Li Wei didn’t hesitate.
He fixed his gaze on the Space Mage.
The Space Mage felt the flames around him begin to warp.
He froze for a moment before realizing that he himself was on fire.
"Teleportation!"
The Space Mage hastily used Teleportation to change his position.
This time, Li Wei saw how he was able to use Teleportation so quickly.
The Space Mage was using the spatial orbs of his Dimensional Killing Array to teleport.
During the Teleportation, Li Wei detected a distinct spatial fluctuation emanating from one of the orbs.
Then, a figure emerged from it.
The Space Mage had just landed and was about to breathe a sigh of relief...
...when he realized the flames on his body were still burning, not extinguished at all.
The attack was coming from within, not without.
Li Wei had directly ignited his Space Mage Robe.
The flames would not go out until the Space Mage Robe had burned to ash.
The Space Mage frowned at Li Wei. "What kind of attack is this?"
The flames seared his body.
He tried everything he could to extinguish the fire, but nothing worked.
"Fine, you win," the Space Mage conceded.
Li Wei extinguished the flames on him and chuckled. "What do you mean, ’fine, you win’? I *did* win."
"Hmph. Don’t get cocky. Once I figure out a way to deal with you, I’ll be back."
The Space Mage turned and left the ring.
This was the Space Tower’s home turf, after all, and Li Wei didn’t want to make an enemy of them.
So he let him go.
Besides, he wouldn’t be able to challenge Li Wei again for another twelve hours.
