Chapter 1680: Chapter 95: Ji Minghao’s Speculation
Eighth Prince Mansion.
In the treasury.
The gentle glow of night pearls illuminated the three-foot squared treasury.
The air carried a faint musty scent due to long-term lack of ventilation.
Jiang Ning’s silhouette slowly appeared beside Ji Minghao, his gaze calmly surveying the prince’s treasury.
Compared to the imagined opulence expected of royal aristocracy, the scene before him seemed somewhat empty and even meager.
The stone chamber’s walls had only three rows of black wooden shelves against them, with two rows completely empty. On the remaining shelf, six items were scattered, each emitting a faint glow from jade boxes.
In the deepest corner of the stone chamber, a long, scabbard-less, dark sword hung on the wall; its blade was ancient and faintly had blood-colored patterns swirling beneath.
Beside it hung a large bow, as well as a long knife.
Next to the three was a small bronze ancient mirror, palm-sized, with strange cloud patterns engraved around the edges. The mirror’s surface was dusty and not shiny.
Yet it inexplicably drew Jiang Ning’s attention for another look.
The reflection in the mirror was not of the stone chamber now, but a haze of chaos, seeming to contain the universe.
Ji Minghao’s eyes faintly changed as he watched Jiang Ning’s sudden appearance, then he steadied himself and followed Jiang Ning’s gaze.
He then showed a wry smile: "Brother Jiang, you flatter me. Since my father fell into a coma and my uncle took over as regent, although I still hold the title of Prince, many of the imperial family’s expenses have been cut. The mansion’s accumulation over the years, most have been used to manage and maintain some essential connections. Plus, the batch I gifted Brother Jiang last time, the remaining items in the treasury now are just these."
He stepped forward, picked up a jade box, and opened it.
Instantly, red light illuminated the room as cold mist fell like a waterfall.
"This plant is called the Five-Orifice Fire Lotus, growing in the depths of lava, maturing one orifice every three hundred years. Nine-orifice Perfection, known as an Immortal Elixir. Even though it only has five orifices now, it remains extremely precious, a heavenly material, the most valuable here. I have always been reluctant to use it, originally intending to use it after achieving Grandmaster status to stabilize my realm."
Then he opened another jade box, the temperature in the room suddenly dropped, and ice crystals formed in the air.
"This is the Cold Marrow Jade Liquid, obtained from a frozen Cave Heaven Blessed Land, a drop can calm the Heart Demon, focus the Divine Soul, and enlighten wisdom."
"This calls the Star Fruit..."
"This is the Mirage Tear Pearls..."
"This is the Soul Nourishing Wood Heart..."
"This is the Golden Dragon Vine..."
After the introduction, Ji Minghao turned around and said to Jiang Ning: "Brother Jiang, if you need these, take them all. Including that Blood Pattern Ancient Sword, it’s a Divine Weapon, which can sever a blade made of Thousand-forged fine iron with a single strike."
"As for this bow," he walked to the wall, removed the large bow, his arm muscles instantly tensed, obviously the bow was heavy: "This bow is called Sun-shooting, I heard Brother Jiang’s archery was like a deity in his youth, it perfectly suits Brother Jiang."
"As for this mirror..." he walked to the ancient mirror, reached out, and wiped off the dust: "This mirror cannot be given to Brother Jiang, it belonged to my mother, and holds great significance for me."
Hearing this, Jiang Ning smiled.
"Your Highness is too kind! Your graciousness, I understand. Although Divine Weapons are powerful, they are not necessary at my current level, and the ancient mirror being your mother’s relic, I could never take it."
"Just these..." Jiang Ning looked at the six jade boxes containing heavenly materials and earth treasures, then continued: "I may need three of them to resolve the urgent need!"
"Brother Jiang, if you need, take all six!" Ji Minghao said.
He swiftly resealed the six jade boxes and handed them to Jiang Ning.
Jiang Ning paused slightly, did not refuse, reached out, and took the jade boxes.
The breakthrough for the Inner Elixir Cultivation Skill still required accumulation of Source Points.
The resources needed were not a small number, he could not be sure whether only three items would suffice.
Because Ji Minghao had just briefly explained, among the six heavenly materials and earth treasures, only the Five-Orifice Fire Lotus was truly valuable, the other five, in his view now, could only be considered average.
He held the jade boxes, feeling the cold emanating from them.
"Thank you!!"
With a wave of his hand, the six jade boxes were instantly stored away, then he cupped his hands at Ji Minghao.
Ji Minghao smiled faintly, waved his hand: "No need for formalities, Brother Jiang, we’re family, no need for politeness! Soon you might be my brother-in-law!"
He sighed again: "Just don’t know if I’ll get to see that day."
Jiang Ning heard this, said nothing more.
Ji Minghao then steadied his thoughts, looked at Jiang Ning.
"Brother Jiang wants to break through tonight, time is urgent, do you wish to seclude here? The two outside are my trusted aides, no matter what they hear or see, nothing will reach a third party."
"No need." Jiang Ning shook his head: "I have arrangements at my mansion, more suitable for quiet cultivation."
"Then alright, I’ll escort you out of the mansion!" Ji Minghao did not say much more, he spoke.
"Thank you for tonight, Your Highness!" Jiang Ning again cupped his hands towards Ji Minghao, then his silhouette began to fade.
In less than a breath’s time, Jiang Ning disappeared from Ji Minghao’s sight.
Looking ahead, Ji Minghao’s eyes narrowed slightly.
Even though this time he watched Jiang Ning disappear before him, he still did not perceive the presence of a living person in front of him.
As if in that instant, Jiang Ning had utterly departed.
"Brother Jiang, walk with me, I’ll escort you out of the mansion." Ji Minghao said again.
