Chapter 520: Chapter 432: You Have to Run to Eat Here, and It’s Easier With Connections

"Hurry up and drive, or we’ll miss breakfast!!"

Under the morning sun, a black business SUV sped along the wide road.

Leo nodded helplessly, occasionally glancing at the rearview mirror: "I’m driving as fast as I can, this isn’t the highway, it’s a town. Going over eighty might get us caught by cops hiding on the roadside."

"You guys don’t want to miss breakfast because we’re a few minutes late, do you?"

"So, stop hitting the back of my seat, it’s affecting my driving!"

Only then did Dreya and Anna sit back in their seats reluctantly, anxiously staring out the window at the distant hotel standing by the sea.

Leo glanced at the rearview mirror again, seeing the bloodshot eyes of the two women: "You two look like you’re on the brink of collapse, is eating really that important? Or you could go to sleep, and I’ll buy food for you."

"No way!!"

The two women shouted in unison, "You’ve had Lin’s cooking before. His food is best fresh. If it’s not dessert or drinks, you can’t take it away without affecting the taste."

"Exactly, we’re here, we have to eat it hot out of the kitchen! We have nothing to do the next few days, we can sleep whenever, why rush!"

"Huh??"

Leo nearly slammed the brakes, "Are you planning to stay here for the next few days? I’ve already checked, the rooms here are booked up for the next month, and the price has more than doubled."

"Not just Radisson, but all nearby B&Bs, small hotels, even motels are full. There’s nowhere for you to stay."

"That’s outrageous!"

Dreya and Anna, unwilling to believe it, took out their phones and swiped a few times, only to find Leo was right.

A suite that cost two or three hundred euros before now was nearing four figures, which was ridiculous.

Despite that, the rooms were booked till early September, leaving no room for negotiation.

"Forget it!"

Anna tossed her phone onto her leg, giving up: "It’s only an hour’s drive, we could just go back and forth every day, have lunch then head back in the afternoon."

"As if it’s not you driving. I won’t be tired, right?" Leo rolled his eyes, "I only manage your transport for work. Wanna squeeze me during rest days too? No way! I promised to go back to see my girlfriend!"

"Then we’ll drive ourselves tomorrow! Get lost, you heartless guy."

"No way! The contract stipulates that without me accompanying, you cannot travel far on your own!"

"F***!! You’re so annoying, this won’t do, that won’t do. Want me to show your girlfriend your photos sneaking into strip clubs at night?"

"???????"

Leo’s face turned red instantly, and he awkwardly twisted, trying to turn and argue with Anna but had to keep his grip on the steering wheel, focusing forward.

Seeing his reaction, Dreya, who had been silent, calmly said: "Let’s compromise."

"You don’t want your girlfriend finding out, and we don’t want to miss our vacation. But you can’t help drive and wouldn’t let us drive on our own, it’s unrealistic."

"I have a suggestion, let’s see if it works for you."

"Let me hear it," Leo slightly calmed down.

Dreya wasn’t as rowdy as Anna. When she spoke, it usually meant she had thought things through.

"Two options, pick one."

"First, let Anthony drive us back and forth. His job is as a bodyguard, whenever we travel, he must accompany us. With him, you can be assured."

"Second, we drive ourselves, and during arrival or return, we video call you to prove we didn’t run off, and keep our phones on all day to respond promptly."

With either option, Anthony would be with the two women. Plus, Anthony likes burly men, so safety is absolutely guaranteed.

Leo immediately nodded in agreement: "Let Anthony drive, but you have to follow the second condition to allow me to always know your whereabouts, otherwise forget it."

"Agreed!"

As Leo expected, Dreya agreed without hesitation, clearly anticipating his response.

Leo sighed, shaking his head helplessly.

Clearly, an agent should have more authority, yet here he was, feeling a bit overshadowed by Dreya?

He must be too easygoing, that’s why.

Yep, that’s definitely it!

Where he couldn’t see, Anna and Dreya silently high-fived in celebration.

They worked the good cop, bad cop routine with seamless cooperation, needing not a word, just a glance to act together.

As long as Leo wasn’t tagging along as the annoying agent, they were practically as free as they could be.

Anthony wouldn’t interfere with their actions, only protecting their personal safety.

Though honestly, there’s really nothing that needed protecting.

Even though Dreya is a relatively famous lingerie model, she’s not at the level where she’d get kidnapped. At most, she just needs to be careful not to get caught on camera in public; nothing else is much of a concern.

The main reason she has a bodyguard is because her company is quite small, and she’s its face. It wouldn’t be good for the company’s image if its brightest star went out without security. Otherwise, in business events, they might be looked down on.

Just as they reached this consensus, the car turned into the entrance of the Radisson Hotel.

The two of them eagerly leaned against the car window, peeking at the restaurant. Sure enough, even from a distance, they could see a long line at the entrance.

"How long has it been since we’ve eaten Lin’s food? Four days? Or five days?"

"Why do I feel like it’s been more than a week? Ah, I’m so hungry, I’m about to pass out."

From the driver’s seat, Leo glanced at the two women through the rearview mirror, genuinely unable to understand why they were so obsessed with that Great Xia chef’s food.

It’s not like he hadn’t tasted it before. Sure, it was quite good, but not to the extent of being unforgettable.

If the Great Xia chef’s food was placed in front of him, he wouldn’t mind eating to fill his stomach.

But to drive an hour just to eat and then drive back—that’s something stupid he would never willingly do, nor does it seem worth it.

"Quick, let us out first, then you can go park!"

Though they had no idea what today’s breakfast was, the two women couldn’t wait and started tapping the driver’s seat, eager to fling open the car door and sprint straight out.

The line was already that long, and people from the hotel kept joining in.

Every extra minute in the line could mean an additional fifteen to twenty minutes of wait to eat, so they had to hurry!

"Huh?"

The commercial vehicle’s arrival immediately caught Meng Qi’s attention outside the restaurant. These kinds of vehicles were usually only used by executives or celebrities; ordinary people almost never opted for them as a daily ride.

He initially planned to use the same trick, asking Daniel to bring breakfast out for him. But unlucky as he was, he arrived just as Daniel was driving away.

Fortunately, through the side entrance of the restaurant’s beach area, he already spied what today’s breakfast was. Unfortunately, with no helper, he could only watch enviously as the pretty waitresses inside feasted.

Just as he was feeling down, the commercial vehicle arrived.

As the only security officer nearby, out of duty, he immediately walked over.

He hadn’t taken many steps when the commercial vehicle suddenly stopped.

As the door slid open, two figures dashed out one after the other, running straight to the back of the queue.

Come to eat?

In an instant, he ran through the list of all the noteworthy individuals who had dined at the restaurant, coupled with those somewhat familiar graceful figures, he vaguely guessed who they might be.

"Anna?"

Just as the two were feeling proud of their sprinting, a familiar voice called out Anna’s name from the side.

The two instinctively turned their heads and saw a man in a security uniform waving at them from a meter away.

"You are..."

"Meng Qi?"

The two stared at him for seven or eight seconds before finally recalling who he was, largely thanks to that security uniform.

"Haha, yes, that’s me. I’m surprised you still remember my name."

Seeing them again here, Meng Qi felt quite happy.

It’s not the kind of happiness one gets from seeing celebrities, but rather because, like him, they had also traveled from Amiens following Lin as devoted foodies.

It’s a sensation not unlike meeting a fellow countryman in a foreign land, feeling particularly congenial.

"Come to think of it, weren’t you already working here the last time we came?"

Dreya nodded with a smile. This guy was a huge fan of Lin Chen back in Amiens, lining up for their food rain or shine. She hadn’t expected him to follow Lin Chen to Dieppe for work.

Work had kept her busy, and since they weren’t very acquainted, she had completely forgotten there was an ’acquaintance’ here.

Anna gave Meng Qi a few blinks, a thoughtful glint in her eyes.

A moment later, she suddenly pulled out her phone and said, "Shall we exchange contact details?"

"Ah?" Meng Qi was taken aback, "Sure, that’s fine, but aren’t you celebrities? Do you casually give out your contact info like this?"

"Depends on who it is!"

Anna grabbed his phone, inputted her number, and dialed, then hung up.

"Since you work here, having acquaintances makes things easier."

Having acquaintances makes things easier?

Meng Qi suddenly realized something, his eyes lit up, and he nodded quickly, "Right, that’s exactly it!"
