Chapter 29: 100 percent drop rate for one hour upon trigger: the bloodline aweakening
In no time they had already made it back into the village, and almost immediately upon entering, the system chimed.
[The event has come to a close.]
[The final leaderboard is as follows:
Shadow Monarch: 10,567
Silver: 7,890
Aria: 7,885]
[These are the top three overall.]
[The prizes are as follows:
First place gets their system stones multiplied by 5, plus a 100% drop rate for approximately one hour after automatically receiving their gift coupon.
Second place gets their system stones multiplied by 3, plus an extra 500 system stones, plus a 100% drop rate for approximately one hour.
Third place gets a 100% drop rate, their system stones multiplied by 2, plus an extra 250 system stones.
Players ranked 4 through 100 will receive a participation incentive along with a small number of additional system stones.]
Almost immediately Aria opened her system space to check her stone count, hoping it had climbed at least a little.
"Wow, I have 550 system stones and I’m now ranked 28th on the overall leaderboard. Just excellent," she said brightly.
Levon immediately pulled up the leaderboard.
[Shadow Monarch: 5,283
Draven: 3,780
Silver: 2,509]
Levon looked at it one more time and sighed.
He really needed to figure out who this Silver was, and soon.
From every web novel he had ever read, there was always someone who either reincarnated alongside the protagonist or showed up as an unexplained anomaly. But the thing was, he had regressed, and it just didn’t feel very realistic for that kind of web novel logic to actually apply to his situation.
"What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy? You’re halfway there. We’ll reach the 10,000 mark soon and finally be able to move on to the next stage," Aria said.
"No, it’s nothing. I’m just trying to piece a few things together, that’s all," Levon said calmly as he made his way toward the first church building he could spot.
It was finally time to get this awakening done and over with, and to settle things properly.
He also needed to find out if there was anything else tied to the staff he was currently carrying. It had been draining his life force ever since he left the dungeon, which meant it was not a normal grade artifact. And the fact that he could even wield it at all meant there was far more to it than he had initially thought.
Levon immediately pulled up his system space and without much thought gifted Aria 1,000 copper coins through the friends panel.
"You’re going to need those in there for the awakening, so don’t worry about it," Levon said, and before Aria could even respond he had already walked straight into the church.
Inside it looked ordinary enough. The temple had a small marked area at the far end and several priests stationed around it. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"Welcome," one of them said as Levon and Aria stepped inside.

"Well if you all don’t already know it, we are finished. I’m just going to say it plainly. We are all cooked. Take your situations seriously. The Shadow Monarch has just passed 5,000 system stones and will be on his way to 10,000 soon. Once that happens, we are officially done for good," someone muttered out loud after seeing the event results displayed across the system.
"Well, I personally don’t think the Shadow Monarch is as untouchable as everyone makes him out to be. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I’m certain he has some kind of advantage over the rest of us. And if we had that same advantage, I am a hundred percent sure we could bring him down," a voice spoke up.
The small crowd went completely quiet, the side chatter dying instantly.
"What exactly are you suggesting?" someone finally had the courage to ask.
"What I’m saying is that throughout the entire competition I have been watching the Shadow Monarch carefully. And don’t ask me how I found him, that’s not what this conversation is about. My point is that I have been tracking him, and he has no idea.
Right now, for example, he is inside the church just a few meters east of here. My people are watching him closely and he suspects nothing.
Now do you have any idea how much exp and loot we would gain from killing him? I’m sure you don’t, so let me show you what I mean."
The man speaking was none other than Steven, one of the friends of Peter whom Levon had killed without hesitation. Since then Steven had gone on to grind relentlessly and was now ranked in the top ten across nearly all system rankings, including system stones.
Steven walked up close to someone standing near him.
"What is your exact system stone count? Don’t lie," he said with a smile.
"I have 200 system stones. Is there a problem?" the man replied, a little suspicious of the question.
Steven immediately asked everyone nearby to pull up the leaderboard, find his name, and keep their eyes on it.
The man quickly figured out what was about to happen, but it was already too late. Before he could even move, Steven had driven his axe clean through his neck.
Within moments the man had collapsed dead in a pool of his own blood.
Everyone instinctively stepped back in fear, as though Steven had completely lost his mind. But then they looked at the leaderboard and saw it. Steven had gained 200 system stones instantly.
It was straightforward. Not only did creatures drop their loot when killed, humans did too.
"So as you can see, he dropped everything he had. It really is that simple. If we can kill the Shadow Monarch, the system will officially distribute every single piece of his loot among us. And you already know how much that would actually be," Steven said with a wide grin as he moved toward the center of the group, everyone instinctively shifting aside.
"So I’ll ask you plainly. Are you all in on this or not?" Steven said, looking at the five men standing before him. None of them looked particularly confident.
"We can’t just attack him like that. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes all of us out by himself," someone said with a worried tone, and everyone nodded in agreement.
Steven chuckled softly before finally speaking.
"Don’t worry. I have a plan."
