Levon glanced over the mutated items.
He had been hoping the Sword of Oblivion would at least improve, but his prayers went unanswered. Even so, he was more than satisfied with everything else he had gotten.
He looked them over one more time and decided to use what he could and store the rest in his system space.
The first thing his eyes landed on were the Mana Vein Crystals.
Ingesting them would increase his spirit stats, but right now that wasn’t a priority. His spirit stats didn’t matter much yet — he would have to awaken first before it was even worth considering.
Besides, they weren’t going anywhere.
With that, Levon moved on to the next item — the Phantom Fang.
’Why are they even calling it the Phantom Fang when it doesn’t have any poison?’
Levon immediately clicked on the item to check its stats.
He quickly skimmed past the standard stats and went straight for the grade.
[Phantom Fang — Uncommon grade]
The moment he saw that, his mind was made up. He would leave the dagger in his system space for now and probably sell it later once the trade store went live.
Next up were the Vitality Fruits.
Levon genuinely needed these now more than ever. Increasing his HP was a priority, the higher it was, the harder he would be to kill.
It was no secret that vitality stats directly boosted a player’s HP, and that was certainly no news to him.
[Vitality Fruit Consumed]
Vitality +10
Total HP increased by 100.]
Levon felt that familiar rush wash over his body, and almost immediately he watched his HP bar climb back to full.
After everything that happened in the witches’ coven, he had been too exhausted and preoccupied to worry about his HP. He still had items to replenish it with anyway, so he had simply tried to let his body recover on its own. But now the divine treasure chest had taken care of it effortlessly.
Finally, he reached his favorite part, the mechanical stones.
He had about 25 mechanical stones, and as far as he could remember, his venomous sword needed around 12 to level up from level four to level five.
Without hesitation, he immediately fed twelve mechanical stones into the venomous sword.
[Venomous Sword has leveled up to level 5.]
His sword shimmered far more brilliantly than he had expected, but he immediately hit a bottleneck.
He would need about 20 more mechanical stones to push it to at least level seven.
It didn’t matter much though, he could always gather more. Besides, after his awakening, if he obtained a good and compatible bloodline, he likely wouldn’t even need the venomous sword anymore. Upgrading it now would only raise its value whenever he eventually decided to sell it.
Next, he poured the remaining mechanical stones into his grave ward pendant. After everything it had done for him, he felt he owed it that much.
[Grave Ward Pendant has leveled up to level 6.]
[Grave Ward Pendant has leveled up to level 7.]
And with that, his mechanical stones were fully exhausted.
His blood crystals weren’t needed at the moment either, so he calmly closed his storage space.
After sitting for a short while, he finally got back to his feet. The event was about to begin, only about two minutes left. freēwebnovel.com
In Levon’s past life, Draven had been the first person to accomplish anything significant enough for the system to trigger an event. But this time around, Levon had been the one to do it, and not only that, he had done it in far less time.
His real question now was whether the event would be the same or different, given that the circumstances that triggered it this time were not the same at all.
’I really don’t think it would be the same,’ Levon thought as he made his way back into the village where everyone was gathering. He wasn’t entirely sure where the event would take place, so staying in the village and waiting made the most sense — especially since it might not even play out the way it had in his past life.
The moment he stepped back into the village, he could see the trade stores were already active, and the blacksmiths were taking orders from a steady stream of players. It had the feel of a busy rural settlement, the kind Levon had known well in his past life.
Instinctively he glanced toward the church, and just as he expected, no one was going near it. Nobody had figured out its purpose yet.
And it was no surprise, in his past life, people only discovered its potential after a player stumbled in by pure coincidence, just trying to understand why it even existed in the world.
But this time would be different. Levon would be the first to awaken in the village, and hopefully he could use that head start to dominate this world, though he still wasn’t entirely sure what the reason for his reincarnation was.
One thing he did know was that it wasn’t for nothing. He had to make use of the chance that death had given him, and in doing so, conquer death itself.

Almost immediately, players began pouring out from across the vast starter village. A large crowd of humans had already gathered, all eagerly waiting for the countdown to end.
Some could be seen rushing to finalize last-minute deals with the blacksmith, while others were hurrying out of the trade houses.
