Chapter 13: Chapter 13: The God’s District

’Yawn.’

Volcano stood up from the bed, stretching his hands upward. After so many hours of constant gaming, Volcano was grateful that he got to sleep in such a peaceful manner in a cozy bed. If it were his previous apartment, then he wasn’t so sure he would have enjoyed sleep to such an extent. Truly, luxury did have its own way of making a man happy.

"What time is it now, Sophie?"

[It’s 14:30]

"That much? I ended up skipping breakfast, haven’t I?"

[I apologize, Master. You sounded peacefully asleep. Thus, I didn’t siren the alarm.]

"It’s fine! Thank you for your consideration."

[You are most welcome, Master.]

After ending such a swift conversation with the house AI, Volcano squatted on the floor for a few minutes, then stood up, brushed his teeth, and dressed himself properly. Not too extravagant nor as plain as a commoner — after all, he was in a prestigious area, so he dressed according to the trend.

Posing in front of the mirror, he eyed himself before throwing a flying kiss.

"Looking handsome, my guy! Let’s go and make sure our belly is full enough to maintain our nutrition!"

The God District had a distinct way of governing food. It demanded every God residing within the district to get their meals from the cafeteria and finish them there as well, even though they had enough androids to serve each of the Gods if they wished. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

But they had to maintain the system like that.

Their reasoning behind it was simple — it helped create bonds between the Gods rather than having them spend all day playing Godcraft inside their assigned dorms.

-ClanNckk!

The door automatically closed as Volcano ventured outside.

As he finally stepped out, his feet started to wiggle before the vibration reached his body, causing his entire frame to sway as well. The floor was engrossed with a magnetic field that reacted with the body. This particular setup was done so people didn’t have to work hard to walk — they could simply float mere inches above the ground and decide their direction to reach their destination.

To use it, however, one needed bodily balance, just like riding motoflies or byflies (flying bicycles).

Unfortunately, Volcano had hardly used such technology before, so unlike many others, he didn’t have the proper balance to use it carefully. His body wobbled awkwardly through the hallway until he crashed into something he didn’t notice.

"Ugh— Fuck! I... I am so sorry!"

Volcano immediately apologized, recognizing his felony.

However, the softness beneath him whispered for him to linger just a little longer in such a compromising position.

"You are enjoying the softness of a woman? Are my breasts to your liking?"

A honeyed whisper followed, causing a blush to spread across Volcano’s face.

However, before he could say or do anything, the owner of the voice pushed him off, making him stumble again before catching his balance and crashing against the wall.

"Hey, piece of shit! What was that blush all about? You liked groping a helpless girl that much?"

The woman roared, gathering herself while floating a few inches above the ground, staring at him with absolute disdain.

"Ugh... fuck..." Volcano groaned in pain as he sat beside the wall. "I-I am sorry... I didn’t mean to... it’s just—"

Before he could finish the sentence, a load of spit crashed slightly past him, missing him by a hair’s breadth.

"Disgusting!" she sneered. "Seriously, all men should just die! Dirty little pigs are all over women, thinking of them as pleasure products!"

Her disgust reached its peak as she turned around and slowly floated away from Volcano as if he was a lost cause.

"Seriously, the government should get rid of all the men in this world and do women a favor! It’s not like we would go extinct in this age of technology unlike earlier times. There are already enough methods to reproduce without disgusting pigs like you!"

She left those words behind and wasted not a single second lingering around Volcano.

Volcano sighed greatly and finally managed to stand back up, turning off the float function on his boots.

"The hell with being cool and feeling great! I should have never used this gadget."

He complained to himself as he walked normally, his day already ruined.

"Rosalina Von Avalon."

That was the woman’s name, which Volcano collected from the Godcraft badge attached to their clothing.

He had heard of this particular lady before.

It was back when they had all first arrived in the God District. She had thrown a tantrum over the mixed housing of Godcraft, demanding that separate dorm sectors for men and women be established so they would never have to meet one another within the district.

Naturally, Godcraft had denied such a suggestion and stood firm on its decision, making Rosalina swallow her pride and take her assigned dorm which unfortunately happened to be right beside Volcano’s.

Being the timid person Volcano was, he hadn’t thought much of it at the time.

But now he knew what a headache it would be to remain her neighbor after learning firsthand that the woman was a certified man-hater.

"Well, at least she had a shred of decency left," he whispered, glancing toward the spit. For a moment, he had been certain she would spit directly at him, but thankfully the bitch didn’t go that far.

He gathered himself and walked the rest of the way toward the Godcraft Cafeteria.

The cafeteria itself came as a huge surprise to Volcano. After all, he had never seen so many different kinds of food stacked together waiting to be grabbed and eaten as if it were a millionaire’s banquet.

However, every last dish had numbers attached to them showcasing their prices.

So if someone wanted to indulge in such delicacies, they still needed to be a millionaire.

Godcraft had a distinct point system.

As beginner support, every God had been given 10,000 Godcraft Currency, which could be used for every facility within Godcraft at what they considered a "reasonable" price.

Volcano soared through the crowd and secured his double cheese hamburger with extra sausages while checking out his surroundings.

The food station itself worked in a rather futuristic manner.

As Volcano grabbed the burger from the heated section, a faint blue screen instantly hovered before his vision.

[Double Cheese Hamburger + Extra Sausages]

[Price: 135 GC]

[Proceed with payment?]

"Oh? Fancy..." Volcano muttered softly before lazily pressing the confirmation icon in the air.

[Ding!]

[-135 GC deducted.]

[Remaining Balance: 9865 GC]

The burger packaging shimmered briefly before a tiny Godcraft mark appeared over it, signifying successful purchase.

"So they really don’t let you eat for free, huh..." Volcano whispered to himself while taking the warm burger into his hand.

"It seems I am not the only one who played the game for long hours," he muttered softly as he made his way toward a quiet table in the corner.

There were already a few people occupying the space. However, they remained mostly quiet as if talking to one another would be blasphemous.

Volcano quite didn’t like such a peaceful environment.

He preferred chatting with others, making friends, boasting to them — but after what had happened earlier, he chose this place to avoid unforeseen trouble.

And places this quiet tended to have the least trouble according to him.

He joined the silent gathering and began eating.

-Munch Munch munch.

The quiet place was filled only with the sound of his chewing.

’Th-this is embarrassing...’ he thought to himself as he felt gazes of disapproval landing on him.

’How come these guys don’t even make sound while eating? Are they ghosts or something?’

Volcano genuinely couldn’t understand, yet he still didn’t stop eating his fill.

Between those judging gazes, he continued eating until the atmosphere around the cafeteria subtly shifted.

A few whispers slowly spread.

"He’s here..."

"No way, already?"

"Did he finally wake up?"

Volcano mildly lifted his gaze between another bite of his burger.

At the entrance of the cafeteria, a man dressed in white entered the space, his white hair stylishly combed back. On his left stood a handsome man with a calm analytical look, while on his right was a woman with devoted eyes lingering around him. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Mr. Olive, can you please share what kind of world you attained?"

"Dude!? Do you even have to ask that? It’s Olive we are talking about! I bet he got a much higher-form species than his brother!"

"How many hours did you play? How did it feel?"

"I heard you were determined to create a Pantheon! Can I be part of it, please?"

Swarming questions and admiration followed Olive as he walked forward with a soft smirk, clearly enjoying all the attention without answering anyone.

He simply picked up a few delicacies and sat down while his admirers desperately tried to curry favor with him.

None of that mattered to Volcano.

He wasn’t some admirer of Olive — just a rich kid pampered by his father and family members.

Thus, Volcano continued savoring his burger bit by bit, completely ignoring Olive’s existence.

Instead, he was interested in Nox, the guy who had helped him earlier.

Between his bites, he stared at people’s chests — more importantly, the badges Godcraft had distributed. It had their God name, rank, and real name written on them.

As he searched for his benefactor, the cafeteria doors slid open once more.

Unlike before, there were no loud cheers.

No excited crowd.

Yet strangely enough, the atmosphere shifted all the same.

Several people instinctively straightened their posture while others quietly looked away after only a brief glance.

His gaze landed on a sight his eyes immediately determined as healing.

A girl in red.

Her crimson hair flowed plainly around her while eyes beautiful enough to shame the sunrise calmly overlooked the cafeteria.

She sat alone at a table, gracefully having her meal.

She didn’t have loud admirers like Olive nor curious questioners flocking around her.

But that didn’t mean she lacked admirers.

She had them.

However, none dared approach her.

Their instincts simply told them how out of reach she was.

Alice Crimson.

The second daughter of the famous Crimson Family.

Volcano’s love at first sight.

Volcano couldn’t understand it.

He wasn’t into those icy cold types of women.

He preferred someone a little busty like Suzune Kamikaze — soft, gentle, and always kind.

But Alice had somehow made his heart beat faster.

Every word she spoke, every breath she took made Volcano shiver in place.

Oh! If only he could caress her, touch her, or even approach her just a little.

Volcano remained in a daze, daydreaming like many others in the cafeteria while staring at the woman in fiery red—

Until suddenly his vision turned crimson.
