Chapter 5: Chapter 5: To Proceed on the god Weilder

The council of mages were sat and ready.

They had to discuss about a couple of things.

On their long list, the most important was the emergence of the new SSS rank.

Roe’s awakening was pretty unprecedented.

He was basically a genius on track to possibly rival Merlin.

What’s more, he was going to be directly trained by Merlin and indoctrinated into his teachings.

The council didn’t want this.

Some on the council already thought it was weird that Merlin was allowed to do whatever he pleased.

He pretty much influenced policies and made laws and the association could do nothing about it.

The Council of Mages is an independent body set up by the association to checkmate mages the association itself can’t.

The council consisted of 7 seats.

All occupied by an S-rank mage of prestige and class.

They were Arthur, Perzeus, Elijah, Sun, Elsa, Bill and Morgana as the leader.

"Morgana was against it."

"Merlin was already given free reign, now there’s another. We can’t have that," she said.

"The council was already planning to eliminate a lot of bills passed by Merlin upon his death."

"We’ve waited years for the old man to grow old."

"We can’t just let him up and die when he gets to leave a successor to follow in his steps."

"Solomon could be controlled, but this new awakener I’m not so sure."

"I agree with Morgana," Perzeus said.

’Here he goes again,’ Elijah thought.

"Morgana follows reason. I have no doubt she is in fact right."

"We can’t progress this nation if the nation is stuck gratifying old ways. We’ll never progress."

"The other nations don’t heed their elders as much. Look at all their new developments."

"I dare say we are falling behind," Perzeus ended.

He basically just said the same thing as Morgana.

As usual he just goes along cause he’s trying to get her to sleep with him, Elijah thought.

"Hey, maybe there’s a reason Merlin does the things he does. Ever tried asking?" Elijah questioned sarcastically.

"Well maybe when we can get the old man to communicate properly," Elsa responded.

"That’s what he has Solomon for!" Elijah shouted.

"Be for real you guys, that’s not even a valid point."

"If you’re serious you’ll talk to Solomon."

"Ok, enough."

"I think we’re getting worked up over this case. Let’s talk about something else," Morgana pivoted.

"In about 10 days the god system may prove to be real," Arthur said.

"Merlin never told us how to find it, should we desire it."

"I think it’s going to be scary if such a power exists, moreso if it falls into the wrong hands."

"You’re right. We’re at a very critical time indeed," Morgana said.

"To have the emergence of this Merlin-class mage and the possibility of a god-powered mage awaken in the span of a couple of days is truly insane."

"If we don’t act right, forget upending Merlin. Our regime could be cut short."

Elijah agreed.

"What happens when we can’t lead the god wielder or this Merlin boy?"

"I mean Merlin never had a mentor. Look how he turned out."

"Maybe this boy having Solomon and Merlin could be a good thing," Elsa said.

"That’s brilliant," Arthur said.

Elijah’s eyes lit a fire.

He was following.

He got exactly where Arthur was coming from in that instant.

"Why don’t we nurture the god wielder much like Merlin would this boy?" Elijah said.

"Rather than face the all-powerful mage to claim Roe, why don’t we just train and raise the god wielder, whoever it is, to obey and uphold our ideals?" Arthur said.

Morgana smiled.

She was clearly loving the idea.

The only problem was time.

This was going to be a race.

It’s possible Merlin also has this in mind.

’What’s more, it’s not like the council is all friends with the association. They are independent after all. The association might also want a piece of this god mage,’ Morgana thought.

"It’s settled."

"We act and fast."

"No word of what’s said here leaves this room, understood?"

They all agreed.

Their plan seemed solid.

"Now may we evaluate those mages we’d like to invite to our forces? We can’t have the circles take all the good ones," Elsa said.

"That’s a great idea."

"Pull up the Mage Table. Let’s start sending out offers," Arthur said. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

In about 2 hours, the meeting came to an end.

All seven went towards their separate offices to enact their individual roles in preparation for the days ahead.

All the council members had a vice.

Jafar was Morgana’s.

Elijah’s was his wife, Fiona.

Elijah got to his office, his wife waiting on him.

He gave her tasks.

He explained he couldn’t go more in depth as this particular assignment was one of those need-to-know ones, and she sadly didn’t need to know.

Fiona left not too long after.

Elijah was seated.

He was deep in thought, contemplating.

’I still think we can reason with Solomon despite agreeing with Arthur’s plan. There’s really no point in planning for what’s essentially war with the Merlin boy.’

’This is basically accounting years in advance for a war that need not exist.’

Elijah didn’t like the fact they were simply letting Merlin have his way.

He also didn’t want to go to war with him.

He scratched his head.

All this thinking was getting him nowhere.

"Why can’t we just talk like adults?" he shouted.

"You made it to the temple."

"The other students are eager to meet you, Roe."

"I’m eager to meet them as well," he responded.

"Come on, follow along," Solomon said with a hand gesture prompting Roe to follow as instructed.

He began teaching.

They were only walking, so Roe didn’t quite realize his lesson had started.

He just thought they were going to meet other mages in training.

"You know rifts open up in the sky and monsters are sky-bound, right?"

Roe responded, calling that basic knowledge.

"Well how do you get to the sky?" Solomon questioned.

"You have to be airborne, right?"

This was also rather obvious, but Solomon’s tone...

"Ok, come at me, like you’re trying to strike." fгeewebnovёl.com

Roe was shocked.

He didn’t quite understand, but he would do as instructed.

He charged.

Before he knew it, Solomon’s hands were under his boots and he got sent flying upwards literally.

"What are you doing?" he shouted as he got flung through the air.

"It’s only a small rift," Solomon said.
