Chapter 41: Chapter 41

Adam’s worries were not baseless.

Over the past month, Silver Willow dynasty had undergone earth-shattering changes, and he increasingly felt that this was the calm before a massive storm.

Because of this, he could only prepare for a rainy day.

If his strength was insufficient when the great calamity struck, he might not be able to escape.

Over this past month, anomalies had frequently appeared all across Silver Willow’s territory.

In the East, an ancient medicine garden emerged.

In the extreme West, a primordial mine surfaced from a bottomless abyss.

In the extreme North, a peerless spiritual rain fell for a full seven days and seven nights.

The originally bitterly cold and desolate extreme North had now become an excellent holy land for cultivation.

Coincidentally, these three great regions were the respective fiefdoms of three other Kings.

Just like the South-Subduing King, when faced with the opportunities born from the Heaven and Earth Upheaval, these three Kings chose to monopolize the resources for themselves, an act no different from open rebellion.

Not only that, but Silver Willow dynasty’s brutal rule had sparked widespread public resentment. Uprisings erupted one after another across the country.

Among them, the Southern Rebel Army led by Oswin had the most massive momentum.

When he first heard the name, Adam thought it was just someone with the same name. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

Only after looking into it did he realize that this Oswin was indeed his former close friend.

The momentum of Oswin’s Southern Rebel Army grew more formidable by the day. More than half of the martial arts families in the entire Southern region had already defected to him.

Sitting high in the imperial court, the Emperor of Silver Willow flew into a thunderous rage upon hearing this.

After learning that Oswin was the mastermind behind the uprising, he ordered the arrest of anyone remotely connected to Oswin, without needing any evidence, throwing them straight into the imperial prison just to vent his fury.

Adam had managed to barely clear his suspicion only because he had stayed inside Inkwood Academy the entire time, constantly under the watchful eyes of numerous officials, making it impossible for him to have had any recent contact with Oswin.

But even so, he faced minor interrogations every three days and major interrogations every five.

Fortunately, Adam had absolutely no fear in his heart.

Otherwise, saying even a single wrong word would have given those runners an opening to exploit.

A minor slip-up would mean paying a fortune to avoid disaster, while a major one would mean being dragged straight to the dungeons.

Unless he exposed his true strength, he would have been peeled of a layer of skin, to say the least.

Although he had shaken off suspicion for now, Adam did not let his guard down.

The rebel army led by Oswin was growing exponentially, their strength increasing by the day. Martial arts experts continuously joined their ranks, wishing to trample and overthrow the decaying Silver Willow.

In Adam’s eyes, with Oswin’s faction growing so massive, if he allied with those Kings, they might truly conquer the Silver Willow dynasty.

The current Emperor of Silver Willow was brutal, incompetent, and muddle-headed by nature. If that day really came, the Emperor might just act out of desperation.

To vent his fury, he might order the immediate execution of anyone who had ever had even a slight relationship with Oswin.

A Grandmaster could be considered a somebody in Silver Willow, but only by reaching the Great Grandmaster realm would Adam have the confidence to face the dynasty without fear.

If he could reach the realm of a Mortal Supreme, he would have absolutely no worries whatsoever. Practically no one in Silver Willow would be able to threaten him.

Fortunately, he could already feel the bottleneck of the Grandmaster realm loosening. Perhaps in just a few days, he would finally become a Great Grandmaster.

...

Silver Willow Capital, in front of the Imperial City Gates.

Two youths, one dressed in cyan and the other in white, drifted down gracefully.

"Go, call your so-called Emperor of Silver Willow Dynasty out for this Young Master."

Vorin commanded the guards in front of the Imperial City gates with a look of absolute arrogance.

"Impudent! To speak so insolently in front of the Imperial City, this general will definitely take you down!"

Seeing Vorin speak so disrespectfully, the expressions of the gate guards changed drastically.

The gate commander, Magnus, was even more furious. Leaping into the air, his hands formed into eagle claws, his imposing momentum was extremely fierce, vowing to capture Vorin right then and there.

Vorin stood perfectly still. Looking at Magnus’s fierce assault, a trace of disdain flashed in his eyes.

He even had the leisure to casually chat with the cyan-robed youth beside him.

"Third Brother, this Silver Willow truly is a barren land. To already be at the Grandmaster Realm, yet have such shallow martial arts techniques. It is simply an eyesore."

Vorin flicked his sleeve. As if carrying the force of thousands of pounds, it sent the lunging Magnus flying backward.

The commander slammed into the city wall before crashing heavily onto the ground.

"Seeing as you still have a bit of use, this Young Master will spare your life today. Hurry and call your Emperor."

Magnus’s face was deathly pale, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes were filled with shock and fear.

That youth had merely waved his hand casually, yet that soft sleeve felt as hard as solid diamond. If this person had not shown mercy, his bones and sinews would have been completely shattered.

Magnus also realized that although this person spoke arrogantly, his background seemed extraordinarily profound.

To be so young, yet already possessing Grandmaster-level cultivation and wielding such exquisite profound methods.

Such aptitude, even in the entirety of the Silver Willow dynasty, one could not find more than a handful like him.

"Who exactly are you people?!"

"A mere mortal creature is fit to know my origins? Hurry and call your Emperor of Silver Willow to this Young Master. If you delay this Young Master’s important matters, I will level your Silver Willow dynasty to the ground."

Vorin stood haughtily in front of the Imperial City gates, not even casting a glance at Magnus.

He carried a condescending posture, his words full of threats, and that tone did not sound like he was ordering a person, but rather ordering a dog.
