Chapter 1426: Chapter 1507: Hidden Motives

Shen Huangyi was silent for a long time.

Looking at the guy across from her again, he had a look of complete composure, as if he wasn’t worried about being seen through at all, brimming with confidence.

Could it not be fake?

Immediately, Shen Huangyi shook her head, dismissing the idea all at once.

It’s definitely fake!

Shen Huangyi didn’t believe that the person opposite was just Shen Binan’s bodyguard, who could also earn a medical doctorate. That’s something an ordinary person would spend a decade or more trying to achieve.

"What’s this thing..." Shen Huangyi feigned ignorance, wanting to probe.

"Oh, I just casually passed the exams for these. I have plenty more like this. If you want to see, I have them there." Fang Yi said casually, not doubting Shen Huangyi’s intention in the slightest.

Back in the day, while Fang Yi was overseas, he didn’t focus solely on robbing both the underworld and the respectable society; sometimes, he needed to keep a low profile.

So when Fang Yi had nothing else to do, he simply self-studied and took exams, earning many degrees using the eclectic skills his elder had taught him.

The truth was, back overseas, those credentials came in handy, but since returning home, they hadn’t been of much use.

Of course, forging certificates was a piece of cake for Fang Yi, but it depended on what they were for.

For instance, visas or passports from some countries — he probably had dozens in his bag right now.

Just casually... earned them!

Shen Huangyi stared intently at Fang Yi, trying to discern a hint of lying from his expression.

But she was disappointed.

Fang Yi still wore a completely calm expression, showing no signs of lying.

But the more it was like this, the less Shen Huangyi believed it.

However, regarding whether that certification was real or not, Shen Huangyi wasn’t without options; she could always take it to the relevant departments to verify.

Just then, from across the street came a sudden clattering sound, very loud, startling even Shen Huangyi who was inside.

Shen Huangyi turned her head to look across, and saw a large truck parked on the opposite street, inside which several people were jumping down.

The spot where the large truck parked happened to face the clinic, so both Shen Huangyi and Fang Yi could see it.

As Shen Huangyi was looking across the street, Fang Yi had already made his way outside.

At the door, Fang Yi lit a cigarette, placed it in the corner of his mouth, and with his hands in his pockets, looked at the other side with a calm expression, unclear about what he was thinking.

The large truck on the opposite street was loaded with many things, but Fang Yi immediately recognized them as medicine cabinets and such, and the dozen or so people seemed to be renovation workers.

Clearly, the opposite side was being renovated into a medical clinic.

Shen Huangyi also came outside. She stood beside Fang Yi and asked, "What’s happening across the street?"

"I don’t know." Fang Yi was indeed unaware.

"It seems like they’re opening a clinic across the street."

"Mm."

"Doesn’t your heart waver one bit?"

Fang Yi, holding his cigarette between two fingers, blew out a puff of smoke and said lightly, "Even if it did, what could I do about it? Why don’t you send your bodyguards to beat those renovation workers away, so they can’t renovate? I’ll treat you to dinner afterward."

Shen Huangyi glanced at him sideways, "Aren’t you supposed to be very powerful? You go and beat them away, and I’ll treat you to dinner every day."

Fang Yi sighed, "Times have changed. I’m a nobody now, couldn’t beat them, would just be inviting trouble."

"Then there’s nothing more to say!"

Shen Huangyi spread her hands and said meaningfully, "I just wonder who’s opening this clinic, and opening it right across from you, it seems like they have ulterior motives."
