Chapter 41: 10,000 X (2)

The moment the notification announcing ShadowWarden’s gift appeared, Dan’s attention settled upon the newly acquired sword resting within his arm. Netherreaver, an Epic-grade sword. Even among Epic-grade weapons, it belonged to the higher tiers, and judging by its aura alone, it far surpassed ordinary equipment possessed by veteran Silver Rank Streamers.

Dan quietly admired it for a brief moment before the corners of his lips rose slightly.

"Epic grade..."

"Let’s see what ten thousand times amplification can truly do."

Without hesitation, he accepted the gift.

[Ding! Gift Received from @ShadowWarden! High-Level Epic-grade Sword: Netherreaver.]

[Ding!]

[Infinite Amplification Activated.]

[Current Multiplier: 10,000×]

[Amplifying Gift...]

The entire cavern trembled. Dark mist erupted from the sword itself, and even the Divine-grade Eternal Dark Heaven Art circulating inside Dan’s body resonated violently. The amplification lasted longer than usual, almost as though it required additional time to complete the transformation.

Finally —

[Amplification Complete!]

The original Netherreaver shattered into countless fragments before reforming into something entirely different. A new blade slowly appeared, longer, slimmer, far more elegant. Its blade resembled an endless night sky, and instead of reflecting light, it seemed to swallow it.

Then, tiny stars drifted beneath the black metal as though an entire universe had been forged inside the sword itself, and its edge wasn’t merely sharp. It appeared absolute. Even the surrounding darkness instinctively gathered around the weapon.

[High-level Epic-grade Sword: Netherreaver] — [Middle-level Divine-grade Sword: Eternal Night Sovereign.]

[Description: A Divine sword born through ten-thousandfold refinement. The blade naturally harmonizes with the Dao of Darkness, allowing its wielder to draw upon darkness without resistance. Every strike strengthens nearby dark energy. Every clash deepens dark sword intent. The sword recognizes only those qualified to seek the Dao beneath Heaven.]

[Special Abilities:

• Night Dominion — Darkness within several hundred meters naturally gathers around the sword.

• Abyss Resonance — All Darkness-type Sword Arts receive tremendous enhancement.

• Shadow Devouring — Absorbs loose Dark Energy after battle to slowly nourish the blade.

• Dao Reflection — While practicing the Dao of Darkness, greatly increases comprehension speed.]

Dan’s eyes remained fixed upon the final ability.

"Dao Reflection..."

He immediately understood its value.

Powerful weapons eventually became obsolete — even Divine weapons could someday be surpassed. But a treasure capable of increasing one’s comprehension was priceless. Giving a hungry man a fish fed him for a day, while teaching him how to fish fed him for life. Likewise, granting strength solved today’s battle, while increasing comprehension solved tomorrow’s.

Dan gripped the sword, and darkness quietly condensed within his hand. A heartbeat later, the Eternal Night Sovereign appeared. The moment his fingers wrapped around its hilt, he felt nothing, as though the sword had always belonged there. He slowly swung it once.

SHHH—

The blade cut through empty air, yet a thin line of darkness lingered behind the slash for several seconds before gradually fading. Dan smiled.

"Excellent."

Then he looked toward the six Boss auras still waiting deep within the cavern. He could have challenged them immediately and probably would have won with the thousand heavens rainfall divine sword — yet he shook his head.

Instead of continuing deeper, Dan walked toward an open section of the cavern where enormous emerald crystals surrounded a flat expanse of stone. He planted the Eternal Night Sovereign before himself, closed his eyes, and began practicing. No monsters, no battles, no distractions — only the sword, only the Dao.

Hours passed. The viewers watched quietly, at first expecting combat, yet instead they witnessed repetition. One slash, another slash, then another — thousands of identical movements, each one nearly indistinguishable from the previous. Yet experts immediately recognized the difference.

[@StoneGiantKing: He’s polishing fundamentals.]

[@GoldenFeatherPrincess: Many young geniuses become intoxicated after obtaining powerful inheritances.]

[@GoldenFeatherPrincess: He instead chose practice.]

[@ShadowWarden: Wise.]

Time continued flowing — one hour, two, three, four, five. Throughout the entire five hours, Dan never fought a single thing and ignored every monster wandering nearby.

Those creatures instinctively avoided him anyway, as the darkness gathering around his sword had become increasingly oppressive. Every slash grew smoother, every step lighter, every breath calmer. Then something clicked. His movements changed — not dramatically, barely perceptibly, yet everyone watching understood. He had crossed another threshold.

[Ding!]

[Eternal Dark Heaven Art Comprehension Increased.]

Level 1 → Level 2

Dan continued practicing without stopping. The sword rose and fell, again and again and again. Ten thousand repetitions performed carelessly produced only exhaustion, yet ten thousand repetitions performed thoughtfully produced mastery.

The difference wasn’t the movement — it was the mind behind the movement. Dan wasn’t merely swinging. He questioned every slash: why this angle, why this timing, why this foot placement. Every answer refined the next movement. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

Another hour passed. The darkness surrounding him gradually became obedient, no longer wild, no longer mysterious, instead flowing naturally around his body like water following the course of a river. Then another notification appeared.

[Ding!]

[Eternal Dark Heaven Art Comprehension Increased.]

Level 2 → Level 3

Dan finally stopped and slowly opened his eyes. The surrounding darkness settled peacefully as a warm current flowed through his consciousness. Then new information surfaced inside his mind, instinctively, as though the Eternal Dark Heaven Art itself had acknowledged his progress.

[Congratulations.]

[Comprehension Level 3 achieved.]

[Dark Energy Skill Creation unlocked.]

Dan blinked.

"...Skill creation?"

[As your understanding of the Dao deepens, you may begin creating techniques unique to yourself.

Current Limit: Two Dark Energy Skills.

These techniques will evolve alongside your Dao.] ƒreewebɳovel.com

Dan’s breathing slowed.

"So, the Dao isn’t merely about learning, but It’s also about creating."

That realization excited him far more than receiving another weapon. Borrowed techniques possessed limits, created techniques were truly one’s own. He looked down at the Eternal Night Sovereign, then toward the darkness gently drifting around him. His journey along the Dao of Darkness had only just begun, yet already it had entrusted him with the right to create his own path. Dan smiled faintly.

"Then it’s time to forge techniques worthy of the Eternal Dark Heaven Art."
