Chapter 100: Chapter 96: Exceeding Expectations

For the time being, Li Ziyu had no plans to leave the Wraith Mountain Range. Having finally found such a resource-rich place, how could he bear to leave? Of course, he had to squeeze every last resource from this place before he even considered moving on!

Minecarts continuously transported the Corpse Remains, delivering them to the Warehouse. Li Ziyu calculated that thirty minecarts could complete a cycle in about half an hour. This meant that every half an hour, the amount of Skeletons in his possession would increase by 3,000 units!

Just letting the Skeletons sit there was definitely not an option; resources had to be utilized. After some thought, Li Ziyu grinned and decisively summoned 10,000 units of Skeleton Undead.

"Xingxing, come here." Li Ziyu beckoned to Liu Xingxing, who was standing idly by, looking bored.

"Hey, coming, coming! Boss, what’s up?" Hearing Li Ziyu’s call, Liu Xingxing quickly ran over.

"I have a mission for you. In a bit, I’ll assign you some Undead. You’ll take them to places with stone and ore and have them mine. Got it?" Li Ziyu said, patting Liu Xingxing’s shoulder.

"Got it! Mission accepted!" Liu Xingxing gave a playful salute, then paused and asked with a cheeky grin, "So, Boss, how many Undead are you assigning me?"

"Not many. 10,000 Undead," Li Ziyu said nonchalantly.

Holy shit!

’10,000 Undead isn’t a lot?’

’Boss, I suspect you’re just flexing. I’ve never seen you with 10,000 Undead before.’

But he only dared to think that, not say it out loud—he’d get his head smacked if he did. So, he just gave a thumbs-up. "The boss is the boss! You’re awesome!"

"Calm down. It’s just 10,000 Undead. Look at you, acting like you’ve never seen the world," Li Ziyu chided, rolling his eyes, though the corners of his mouth curled into a smile.

"Boss, will those Undead listen to me?" Liu Xingxing suddenly asked, a little worried. ’It’d be a real tragedy if I ended up as an Undead myself before we even started mining.’

The Undead seemed fine usually, but that was because Li Ziyu was keeping them in check. If he took the Undead out, who knew if those guys would still be so obedient.

During this time, Liu Xingxing had also chatted a lot with the Minotaurs. He learned from them what Undead were historically like, and it was truly terrifying.

"Don’t worry, it’ll be fine." Li Ziyu reassured him. His Undead were not the same as the Undead of the Otherworld. His were produced by the system with infinite loyalty. As long as he gave the order, the Undead would carry it out faithfully; there was no need to worry about any messy complications.

Liu Xingxing left the Main Tower with the Catman, piloting his own Mobile Fortress as it slowly detached from the Bone Plate Platform. Meanwhile, 10,000 Undead emerged from the buildings, marching out to follow behind him. Seen from a distance, the procession was vast and mighty, stirring a sense of heroic pride in Liu Xingxing.

’With an army like this at my disposal, who would dare to mess with me!’

’Even though I don’t control the Undead, that doesn’t mean I can’t ride their coattails. Hmph. A classic case of Unjustified Confidence.’

Watching Liu Xingxing leave with the long procession of Skeleton Undead, Li Ziyu sat back down on his White Bone Throne, opened the system, and checked the requirements for the Main Tower’s next upgrade.

To upgrade the Level 2 Main Tower to a Level 3 Main Tower, he needed 3,000 units of Skeletons and 10,000 units of Soul Energy.

Li Ziyu had these resources, but after some consideration, he sighed and decided to hold off. The main issue was that upgrading the Main Tower required a lot of Soul Energy.

It wasn’t that he didn’t have enough, but rather that he needed to save the Soul Energy for the Archers he would be creating soon.

Archers required significantly more Soul Energy than Skeleton Warriors; even their Weapons needed Soul Energy to be created.

He didn’t have that many Skeleton Warriors—only a hundred or so, whose main task was to protect the fortress. But the Archers were meant to protect the Wraith Mountain Range, so their numbers couldn’t be too small. He would need at least a few hundred, or they would be spread too thin across the mountain range.

He also stubbornly believed that Archers were only effective in large numbers. A lone Archer was less useful than just summoning a Skeleton Warrior.

At this stage, the importance of the Wraith Mountain Range far outweighed upgrading the Main Tower.

’I feel like I’m forgetting something...’

’Oh, right, the Soul Coffin!’ ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

Li Ziyu rubbed his temples. His intuition told him the Soul Coffin was very important and that he had to build one to see what it did. The Soul Coffin also required 10,000 units of Soul Energy.

’Ugh, after doing the math, it seems the Soul Energy I have on hand really isn’t enough.’

’So, when are my good friends from the Wasteland going to come and deliver a wave of Soul Energy?’

Sighing, Li Ziyu opened the world chat channel to see if there was any recent news.

Outside of the Wasteland, factions in other regions had also taken notice of the Transmigrators’ existence. They showed a strong curiosity toward the Mobile Fortresses, which mainly manifested as attacking the fortresses in an attempt to capture them.

For the past two days, the world chat had been filled with battle reports. The entire world suddenly seemed to have come alive, with everyone fighting gleefully. Wars were breaking out everywhere, and some trolls were even creating threads to give live text commentary on the battles.

Given the importance of information, Li Ziyu would open the chat channel and the threads from time to time to keep up with "current events" so he wouldn’t become disconnected from the world.

Speaking of which, since the forums appeared, their popularity was in no way inferior to the chat channel. There were all sorts of threads, even divided into various boards, for the Transmigrators to pass the time.

Time flew when you were gossiping. In the blink of an eye, dawn broke, and it was time to lie low again.
