Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Silverleaf Town

Four days after the wave ended, Mira completed the town hall.

She announced it at dawn.

Not with ceremony. Simply appeared at Kai’s door before breakfast with paint-dusted hands and the expression of someone who had been awake most of the night.

"It’s done."

Then walked away.

Kai followed her to the northern edge of the settlement.

The town hall stood complete in the early morning light. Spirit Stone walls. Broad entrance. A raised platform inside visible through the open doors. Settlement record storage along the interior walls. Large enough to hold every citizen with room remaining.

Functional. Solid. Built to last.

He ran through the town rank requirements.

**Town Rank Requirements:**

**Population: 50 (Current: 47)**

**Realm Prosperity: 300 ✓**

**Town Hall ✓**

**Market ✓**

**Training Center ✓**

**Military Strength: Tier 2 ✓**

**Technologies: 5 ✓**

Population remained the only gap.

Three citizens short.

Natural blossom production had resumed after the wave ended. The Sacred World Tree was producing at its standard rate. No enhancement. No acceleration.

One blossom was currently developing.

Kai checked the analysis.

**Active Blossom: 1**

**Grade: Common**

**Projected Birth: 4-6 Days**

Common grade. One tail at birth.

After weeks of Uncommon and Rare births the difference was noticeable. Yet every citizen mattered. Every citizen added to something real.

Two more blossoms would need to form and mature after this one.

Weeks away at natural production rates.

Kai accepted this without frustration.

Luna had said it clearly during the wave’s final days. The rank upgrade didn’t need to happen immediately. The threshold would be met when it was met. What mattered was what was being built while waiting.

He turned his attention to the third Aurelis Divine City visit.

The timing felt right.

The preserved herb supply had rebuilt over the past week. Mira had produced new Spirit Infusion goods during the wave integration period. Several higher quality pieces than the previous batch. Her technique had advanced considerably.

More importantly, the auction house.

Finding another authority energy source had become critical.

Intermediate rank was locked at thirty-four percent.

Sol’s resonance with the authority. The Root Heart convergence ritual. The Ancient Root Network awakening. All of it waited behind that rank threshold.

The auction house had produced the Primordial Fragment once.

It might again.

Kai brought the travel plan to Luna that morning.

She had been expecting it.

"Who accompanies you?"

"You. Nova again."

Luna nodded.

"And Sol."

Kai looked at her.

The fox maiden’s expression was measured.

"She resonates with things you’re searching for. The fragment responded to your authority. Sol responds to your authority." A pause. "The logic follows."

He thought about it.

Sol was four days old.

Her apparent age was perhaps ten or eleven. Her actual capacity felt considerably older. Yet she was still new. Still finding her footing in the world.

Yet the same had been true of Nova on the second visit.

And Nova had identified the Realm Consultation Services building before either of them had noticed it.

"I’ll ask her."

Sol was at the Sacred World Tree when he found her.

She was always at the Sacred World Tree when she wasn’t somewhere else.

He sat beside her and explained the visit. The city. The auction house. What he was looking for without naming the authority directly.

Sol listened.

When he finished she was quiet for a moment.

"You want to know if I can feel things there."

"Yes."

She touched the root beside her.

"Here I can feel everything clearly."

Her gold eyes moved to him.

"Away from the tree I’m not certain how much I perceive."

Honest. Careful.

"That’s worth knowing too."

Sol considered.

Then nodded.

The departure was the following morning. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Four of them stepping through the portal. The settlement watching as always. Iris and Sunny standing together at the gate which had become the new standard send-off configuration since the wave.

Sunny waved enthusiastically with both arms.

Sol stood beside her and raised one hand.

A small precise gesture.

Then they were through.

Aurelis Divine City arrived around them.

Sol went completely still.

Not overwhelmed. Not frightened. Simply processing.

Her gold eyes moved across the city with slow deliberate attention.

Kai watched her.

After nearly a minute she spoke.

"It’s loud."

"Yes."

"The energy here is different from the realm."

She turned slightly.

"Many different sources. All mixed together."

Her expression suggested this was considerably more complicated to navigate than the realm’s unified spiritual environment.

"Can you still feel anything specific?"

Sol was quiet.

"Less clearly."

A pause.

"But something."

Good enough.

Their first stop was Greenleaf Alchemy.

Rowan had been considering the first-access arrangement since their last visit. The manager had clearly done his own research in the intervening weeks. The negotiation moved quickly toward terms both sides found acceptable.

A standing supply agreement.

Spirit Herbs at agreed pricing.

Spirit Infusion goods on a per-item basis.

First-access notification for new product categories emerging from the settlement.

A modest exclusivity period on new items before open market release.

The contract was signed within the hour.

**Trade Contract Expanded**

**Greenleaf Alchemy - Standing Agreement**

**Estimated Monthly Income: 120-180 Divine Coins**

**Relationship Status: Established Partner**

**Trade Reputation: Increased**

**Realm Prosperity +18**

Monthly income range.

Considerably more stable than individual transactions.

Kai filed the numbers carefully.

The settlement’s financial foundation was solidifying.

After Greenleaf they moved through the Merchant District.

Two follow-up visits with merchants who had expressed interest during the previous trip. Both converted into modest but real agreements. Tools. Specialty materials.

Small additions to a growing network.

The Grand Auction House came midafternoon.

The registration process was familiar now. The layout less overwhelming. Kai moved through the exhibition halls with purpose rather than amazement.

Sol stayed close.

Her gold eyes moving continuously.

At the third exhibition hall she stopped.

Not dramatically.

Simply ceased forward motion.

Her attention fixed on a display case along the left wall.

Kai followed her gaze.

A collection of small objects. Various shapes. Various materials. Listed as a mixed lot from an unidentified collapsed subspace.

Most of them appeared ordinary.

Rocks. Fragments. Pieces of things that had once been larger.

Yet Sol was looking at one specific piece.

Small. Dark. Roughly triangular.

Kai felt the authority respond.

Faint.

Yet present.

He approached the display.

The information panel listed the entire lot.

**Mixed Fragment Lot - Collapsed Subspace Origin**

**Items: 14**

**Appraised Value: Minimal**

**Individual Item Identification: Not Performed**

**Starting Auction Price: 30 Divine Coins**

Thirty coins for the entire lot.

Nobody had identified the individual pieces.

Nobody had found them worth the time.

Yet the authority was responding to something inside that case.

Sol stood beside him.

"That one."

She pointed at the dark triangular piece without hesitation.

"It feels like the thing you carry."

The authority.

She was perceiving the fragment’s resonance with it.

Even here. Away from the Sacred World Tree. In the midst of a city full of mixed spiritual energies.

Her perception was stronger than she had estimated.

Kai kept his expression neutral.

"All fourteen pieces in the lot."

Luna was already noting the auction timing.

"Lot 47. Third session. Two hours."

They returned for the session.

The auction hall filled. Items moved. Prices climbed on interesting pieces.

Lot 47 appeared without fanfare.

Mixed fragment lot from a collapsed subspace. Minimal appraised value. Fourteen pieces.

The auctioneer moved through it quickly.

Starting price thirty Divine Coins.

Silence.

Kai bid immediately.

Thirty coins.

More silence.

Nobody countered.

**Sold.**

Luna’s expression when they collected the lot was carefully composed.

The same expression she wore when she thought Kai was making a questionable decision but had chosen to trust his reasoning.

Back at the inn Kai laid all fourteen pieces on the table.

The authority responded to three of them.

The dark triangular piece Sol had identified. Strong response.

A flat grey piece with faint markings. Moderate response.

A pale fragment roughly the size of his thumbnail. Faint response.

Sol sat across the table and looked at the three pieces.

"The dark one is different from the other two."

"Different how?"

She thought carefully.

"The other two feel like echoes. Distant. Like something remembered from far away."

Her gold eyes settled on the triangular piece.

"That one feels present. Like it’s still connected to something."

Kai picked it up.

The authority’s response was considerably stronger on direct contact.

**Unknown Evolution Material Detected**

**Classification: Primordial Grade Fragment**

**Status: Partial**

**Note: Fragment of a larger piece**

**Authority Energy Gain if Absorbed: 18**

**Recommendation: Absorb**

Eighteen authority energy.

More than double the first fragment had provided.

Because this one was partial. Part of something larger. The energy concentration was higher despite the smaller apparent size.

He looked at the other two pieces.

**Unknown Material - Echo Fragment**

**Classification: Residual Primordial Energy**

**Authority Energy Gain if Absorbed: 3 each**

Six more from the echoes.

Twenty-four total from a thirty coin purchase.

The authority progress calculation was immediate.

**Projected Authority Rank Progress After Absorption: 34% → 61%**

Not Intermediate rank.

Yet considerably closer.

Kai absorbed all three pieces in sequence.

The warm surge was familiar from the first fragment. Yet stronger this time. Deeper. More layered.

When it faded the interface updated.

**Authority Energy: 23 → 47**

**Authority Rank Progress: 34% → 61%**

**New Function Unlocked: Enhanced Evolution Analysis**

**Enhanced Evolution Analysis: Reveals deeper potential layers. Partial information on locked evolution paths. Improved hidden talent detection.**

Sixty-one percent.

Thirty-nine away from Intermediate rank. frёeωebɳovel.com

And a new function.

Enhanced Evolution Analysis.

He looked at Sol.

Selected her immediately.

**Enhanced Evolution Analysis: Sol**

**Race: Nine-Tailed Fox Maiden**

**Birth Grade: Rare - Maximum Enhanced**

**Primary Affinity: Evolution Resonance**

**Description: Natural affinity for Evolution-type energies. Passively strengthens Evolution Authority effects within proximity.**

**Passive Aura: Evolution Amplification**

**Effect: Evolution Authority efficiency increased when Sol is present**

**Evolution Paths: Partially Visible**

**Path 1: Evolution Oracle**

**Path 2: Authority Vessel**

**Path 3: (Locked - Intermediate Rank Required)**

**Hidden Potential: Extremely Significant**

Evolution Resonance.

A natural affinity for evolution-type energies.

A passive aura that amplified the authority’s efficiency simply through her presence.

Kai read the results twice.

Sol wasn’t simply connected to the authority.

She was built for it.

Born from a maximum enhanced blossom at the end of a wave.

As though the Sacred World Tree had produced her specifically.

For this.

Luna was watching his expression.

He turned the interface visible to her.

She read it carefully.

Then looked at Sol.

The child was looking at the empty table where the fragments had been.

Her gold eyes calm.

"I feel different," she said quietly.

"You absorbed something."

"Yes."

Sol looked at him.

"It’s clearer now. The thing you carry."

A pause.

"It’s bigger than I thought."

Kai held her gaze.

"It is."

She nodded slowly.

As though this confirmed something she had suspected since opening her eyes for the first time beneath the Sacred World Tree.

Outside, Aurelis Divine City continued its endless activity.

Yet in a modest inn room, something significant had shifted.

The authority was sixty-one percent toward its next rank.

Sol’s nature was partially understood.

The path to the Root Heart convergence was closer.

And the Nine-Tailed Divine Empire had taken another step toward becoming something the divine world would eventually be unable to ignore.
