Chapter 377. Milky Way Starfield's God of Slaughter, Goal: Immortal Realm

Under Lu Yuan's lead, virtually all of the Celestial Court's top officials had gathered. Jiang Ningxian was among them, and her eyes glimmered with anticipation. Jiang Haokong, on the other hand, had entered seclusion once again. It seemed that he still hadn't given up.

No one spoke. They stood in silence while staring at the skies above.

As time passed, streams of light appeared in the skies, and each of them emanated a powerful aura. Anyone could feel it. The owners of those auras were all Sages.

Everyone present knew that they were beings from the Outer Cosmos. In the past, when the younger generation and the officials of Huaxia had faced this kind of situation, they had treated it as an imminent crisis where many lives were at stake.

However, today's wave of beings from the Outer Cosmos was different. They were not enemies.

Rumble!

A series of deep, resonant rumbling noises echoed as figures materialized one after another in the skies. Some of them were young, and some of them were old, but without exception, every single one of them had reached the Sage Realm.

"I didn't expect the Jiang Clan to send a group like this," Lu Yuan remarked. He could sense it. The elders had all reached the Great Sage Realm, while the younger members were Lesser Sages. In any starfield, this kind of lineup could be a clan's core of power.

"My father considers this alliance extremely important, so the ones he sent are naturally the best." Jiang Ningxian smiled. Her clan had planned all of this a long time ago.

Sending ordinary clansmen would be meaningless, and it could elicit unnecessary complications. The reason Great Sages were sent rather than Immortals was that the Milky Way Starfield still could not accommodate Immortals.

Otherwise, the Jiang Clan would have dispatched their Immortals. They had enough to go around, considering their terrifying foundations.

"I see." Lu Yuan nodded and said nothing more.

Soon, every one of the Jiang Clan members above had descended. The moment they saw Jiang Ningxian, they bowed without hesitation and said, "We greet the Saintess."

The Holy Son and the Saintess. Each great clan had only two such figures. Their status among their clan members was supreme, so this show of respect was only natural for them.

"No need for these formalities." Jiang Ningxian waved a hand, then stepped to Lu Yuan's side. "Allow me to introduce him. He's Lu Yuan. He's invincible in the Milky Way Starfield, and he's the one who repelled the projection of the Ji Clan's Holy Son. You may address him as King Lu."

Jiang Ningxian figured that since everyone in this world referred to Lu Yuan as "King Lu," it would be convenient for her clansmen to call him "King Lu" as well.

The Jiang Clan members turned their gazes to Lu Yuan. Their expressions changed into a mixture of reverence and astonishment.

The strong commanded respect across the universe. Even though everyone present hailed from the formidable Jiang Clan, Lu Yuan's record was simply too terrifying for them to dismiss. He had repelled the projection of the Ji Clan's Holy Son, and this feat had left everyone of them shaken to the core.

After Jiang Ningxian's introduction, the Jiang Clan members cupped their fist and bowed. "Well met, King Lu. We've long heard of you. You truly live up to your title as the Milky Way Starfield's God of Slaughter."

"The Milky Way Starfield's God of Slaughter?" Lu Yuan raised an eyebrow when he heard that. "What does that mean?"

"You didn't know?" Jiang Ningxian laughed. "You've killed too many figures from the Outer Cosmos, and almost all of them were powerful experts. Your name has long spread across the universe.

"Because of your ruthlessness and uncompromising mindset, everyone started calling you the Milky Way Starfield's God of Slaughter."

Jiang Ningxian was basically saying that Lu Yuan's reputation preceded him. Lu Yuan had never left the Milky Way Starfield. He hadn't even stepped outside the solar system, but his name had long echoed across the universe.

Lu Yuan smiled at the explanation but didn't dwell on it.

"All right, let's not stand around out here. Please, come inside." Elder Ji and Elder Yun stepped forward and invited the Jiang Clan members into Mount Tai.

The Jiang Clan had brought over thirty people with them. As they made their way in, Jiang Ningxian introduced them one by one.

Ten of them were clan elders. They weren't the strongest, but every one of them stood at the Great Sage Realm, and each commanded great respect within the Jiang Clan.

The remaining twenty-odd young men and women were the leading figures of the Jiang Clan's younger generation. In fact, two of them were Rankers. Their purpose in descending was to stand alongside the Celestial Court against the beings from the Outer Cosmos.

Beyond that, they had brought a substantial amount of resources to help the Celestial Court's people grow stronger, including breathing techniques, visualization methods, and other valuable assets.

As Jiang Ningxian had put it, an alliance demanded sincerity from both sides. The Jiang Clan had been too far away to do much, but now that their people were here, they intended to go all-out.

This caught Lu Yuan somewhat off guard. Even though the Jiang Clan had originally come from this world, the level of commitment they were showing was almost too generous to accept at face value. He had always believed that self-interest was everyone's primary motivation to do just about anything.

Yet the Jiang Clan had actually taken the initiative to do such a thing, even going all-out for it. He couldn't help but turn his gaze to Jiang Ningxian beside him. It went without saying—she was the reason behind all this.

"I've already worked out a plan," Jiang Ningxian said as she walked over with a smile. "The younger members can serve as unofficial members of the Celestial Court, bolstering its overall strength, while the elders can instruct the Celestial Court's people in both training and evolution. This way, the entire Celestial Court will benefit."

Lu Yuan felt somewhat helpless upon hearing that, but he couldn't deny that it was the best arrangement. Zhu Qingyu and the others were growing more powerful by the day, but they still needed experienced guides on the path of evolution. He could do that himself, but it would cost him too much time. Having others handle that role was genuinely helpful.

Soon, everyone entered the Trials Academy on Mount Tai. Lu Yuan spent some time speaking with the Jiang Clan members, learning the primary objective behind their descent.

The goal was to strengthen the beings of this world as much as possible. Now that the Celestial Court existed, they decided that the Celestial Court would be the focal point of their efforts. After all, even the Jiang Clan couldn't stand against the entire universe alone.

If the Celestial Court grew powerful enough, it would be for the best.

This was also only the first wave of Jiang Clan members. More of them would follow. In short, the Jiang Clan and the Celestial Court could now be considered to be true allies!

Lu Yuan expressed his gratitude, realizing what was going on. After chatting with the group for a while, he excused himself. The remaining details could be left to Elder Ji, Elder Yun, and the younger generation.

Lu Yuan now had a far deeper understanding of how to make a breakthrough into the Immortal Realm, and he had to make it happen as soon as possible. Now, he had one clear goal—become an Immortal!
