Chapter 307: Chapter 210 Great Discovery about Twin Primes_3

"Forget it!"

He took a deep breath, deciding to give it more thought when his mood improved.

He had just received the news and his mind was a mess. Unable to think it through, he had half a day off and felt like it made no sense to return. So, he took a detour to the Biomedical Research Institute.

The Biomedical Research Institute was always busy. There were always people coming in and out as if they were working all the time.

Dai Tianqing walked out just as Zhao Yi arrived, looking surprised he asked, "Aren’t you at military training?"

"I took a leave."

"On leave? Play hooky, huh!" Dai Tianqing winked with a teasing grin, "Want some help? I’ll say that we need you for a project and that they should let you off."

"No need."

Zhao Yi quickly shook his head.

Military training, too, was a part of university life. How could one skip it for no reason?

He was a good student after all!

As soon as he settled in the lab, Zhang Wei walked out and said, "You’re just in time, we’re about to start two sets of experiments."

"Roughly how long will it take?"

"About an hour or so," Zhang Wei said as she began tidying up, treating Zhao Yi as a mere ’observer’.

The current project was called ’The Role of IL-1α in the Pathogenesis of Chronic Liver Inflammation and its Impact on the Body’s Immune Regulation Network’, which simply put, was researching the role of IL-1α protein.

’Chronic Liver Inflammation’ was just an ’example’, as the role of the IL-1α protein didn’t vary much across most diseases.

As part of the experiments designed by Zhang Wei, they first examined the distribution ratio of IL-1α and immune cells in mouse blood and tested some standard data.

Then, they injected a substance into the mice to increase the level of IL-1α to observe its status.

While the experiment was slow, some of the test data could be generated pretty quickly.

Zhao Yi went over to observe the mice, and directly used "Connection Law" to discover that understanding the role of IL-1α required forty-five points of energy.

"Forty-five points? Not much, manageable!"

"It seems this project is simpler than the last one Zhang Wei did, at least simpler than explaining at a molecular level."

The previous project Zhang Wei worked on did not require a molecular level explanation of human immunity in myocarditis; she only needed to come up with some minor results and discoveries.

Zhao Yi used "Connection Law" directly to provide an explanation at the molecular level, which naturally complicated things a lot more.

The current IL-1α protein is just a substance, with fewer other things involved, so it would certainly be easier.

Of course.

The energy consumption of forty-five points seemed to be still slightly more.

Zhao Yi patiently watched the entire experiment, even personally participated in it, learning to be an ’assistant’ with Liu Chengjie.

When it came to doing experiments, he was admittedly even less adept than Liu Chengjie.

There was no other choice!

Biomedical research was indeed a completely unfamiliar field for him.

After watching the entire experiment, Zhao Yi used "Connection Law" again, finding that the energy consumption had slightly decreased to forty-two points.

This reduction...was quite touching!

Looking at the pitiful Liu Chengjie, Zhao Yi finally decided to use it.

Now his energy cap was over one hundred and fifty points, using forty-two points at once would at most leave a mild headache...

The sacrifice was still quite large!

Shaking his head, he used "Connection Law", instantly starting to charge up his Study Coins--

[Energy +10.]

[Energy +10.]

[Energy +10.]

[Energy +10.]

Great!

"Phew~~~"

Zhao Yi let out a long breath while sitting on the chair.

Liu Chengjie asked with a bit of concern, "What’s wrong? Are you sick? Is it because of the military training..."

Zhao Yi replied somewhat relieved, "No, I was just thinking about something."

As he spoke, he picked up a pen from the table and started to make some notes. He wrote down the characteristics of the IL-1α protein and its role, then suggested, "You know, we could design an experiment to block the role of IL-1α."

"I’ve been going through some resources these past few days on IL-1α protein..."

He listed some of its attributes.

These were all basic knowledge, which both Zhang Wei and Liu Chengjie were aware of.

Zhao Yi continued, "That’s why I’m guessing it might play a role in inflammatory diseases by regulating immunity..."

He presented some ’speculative’ points.

Liu Chengjie was a bit clueless.

If he understood correctly, Zhao Yi had briefly read up on some information, watched a simple experiment, and then provided a ’speculative’ explanation on how things possibly worked to him and Zhang Wei?

This...iz unscientific!

Zhang Wei also found it a bit unscientific, but the more she listened to Zhao Yi’s ’possible explanation’, the more plausible it seemed, and her eyes began to light up.

"Right!" freewebnøvel.com

"This explanation makes sense, it is very likely to occur!"

"We’ll design the experiment right away!"

Zhang Wei suddenly became full of enthusiasm.

Liu Chengjie, lacking experience, was utterly confused, unsure why Zhang Wei was suddenly like this. Still, having a direction for their research and experiment was definitely a good thing.

He would just go with it.

Could anything be worse than not getting any results and being kicked out of the institute?
