"Brother!" the Duchess called out.

The Prince stood there with a frown, looking from the Duchess, then to Sylas, and then to Gogo. He knew that his sister didn't have beast companions, and that wasn't a Demonic Serpentes either, it was one of the real plane.

Could it be his sister was captured? But it didn't seem so. She didn't seem to be very upset or in any distress.

The Prince raised a foot and leapt onto the railing.

"Brother stop!" The Duchess immediately called out. "It's very dangerous! There's an impossible to deal with beam that forms when you cross the barrier of the railing."

The Prince's frown deepened. He stuck a hand out and almost immediately pulled it back, his pupils constricting.

He leapt back from the railing, landing softly on the ground. His jaw set as he watched the beam vanish into the night skies as though it had never been there at all.

He had thought his sister was exaggerating. Her combat sense wasn't exactly the best, though that was probably partially his fault, and that of his father's. However, she was very right.

Had her senses gotten sharper? Or…

The Prince's gaze landed on Sylas who wasn't even really looking at him at all. Sylas' gaze was focused on the stone, at least that was what it seemed like. But in reality, Sylas was looking through it as well, as though even the stone itself was beneath his notice.

It was like the Prince was completely beneath his notice.

There was a flicker of distaste in the Prince's eyes, but he didn't want to say anything that would upset the man too much because he couldn't get to his sister right now. Even though none of this made any sense, he held his tongue.

Why would a human be helping a demon? And why would his sister be so okay with it?

Her combat sense was lacking, but his sister wasn't naive, and she was especially not naive to her own beauty.

But it could also be a situation where his sister knew her combat strength was too lacking to do anything, so she just went along with what Sylas wanted.

As the Prince expected, the Duchess was sharp, and she could tell what her brother was probably thinking. But she couldn't just come right out and say that Sylas was her husband. If anything, that would probably make things worse.

The Prince would definitely assume the worst if she said that, and might even try to force his way over. If that happened, then it would mean her brother's death, and she refused to be responsible for that.

So, much like her brother, she could only hold her tongue, only communicating with her eyes that she was fine.

But that only left the Prince feeling more uneasy and her feeling more frustrated.

Seemingly oblivious to all of this, Sylas just stood in silence, his hands clasped behind his back, his gaze cold, and whatever smoldering anxiousness he had had within him seemingly a thing of the past. freёwebnoѵel.com

He cared not for it.

But his Pride Seed… it was still boiling, entrenching itself deeper and deeper into the crevices of his body until it had rooted itself so firmly Sylas couldn't even tell the difference between it and the layers of his body.

It had been too fully integrated, and it was somehow only still growing.

If he was correct, he didn't blame his Pride Seed for reacting the way it had.

Someone would be paying for all of this dearly very soon.

Another balcony door opened and a man walked in.

This time, Sylas did look up, his eyes narrowing.

Thryskai.

He was sure of it. The features were slightly different, as was the aura, but the feel was too similar.

This was definitely a Thryskai.

Beautiful white wings covered the back of the Thryskai in a dual pair. She had golden hair that blazed with life and vitality, and the Skai Eye on her forehead wasn't a true eye, it instead looked like the tattoo of a golden eye.

However, when you tried to peer into this eye, it was so concentrated with complex Runes that it made even Sylas' own gaze sting.

Her eyes narrowed as she felt the subtle probe, her gaze landing on Sylas.

"Not everywhere is somewhere you can look, human." She said coldly.

She seemed to register only after the fact that Sylas was, indeed, a human. How had he gotten here before she had? Was that even possible? Although she had spent quite some time learning from the city before she chose to make her way up, she didn't expect to get outraced by anyone, let alone two people.

The Prince she could understand. She had heard of him and knew enough about his personality to know that he had probably not spent anywhere near the time she had laying a foundational understanding of the city.

But this human… even if he had set off immediately and spent no time learning the circumstances of the city first, he should have never gotten here before she did.

'Is it because there are two of them?' she thought to herself, realizing that Gogo was a contract beast. So she was really only counting Sylas and the Duchess.

Sylas, however, realized something else. This woman was in the C-tier. Even if this Split Realm was connected, she shouldn't have come here with them.

But what interested him more was the distinct lack of a Demonic Aura on this woman.

Not for a moment did he believe that he was wrong about his previous deduction. It either meant that the Thryskai had split before… or there was more complexity involved in how they had hidden themselves on the Real Plane than he thought.

Another balcony pulsed and this time, Sylas' reaction was somehow even fiercer than when he saw the Thryskai.

Every one that appeared seemed to set him on a further edge, and this time, he had no choice but to react as he had… because he recognized the aura of the Zeus Clan when he felt it.
