Chapter 1184: Chapter 83: Boiling Beast

"What is he doing?"

"Where is he going?"

Similar cries of fear echoed through military bases worldwide.

Li Ang did not deliberately hide his whereabouts—he estimated that the near-Earth orbit satellites had long been infiltrated by AIM’s software, and any movement on the surface could not escape surveillance.

Moreover, nearly all North American Bug Men were following emergency evacuation orders, hiding away,

and the only one able to move freely on the surface and cause a commotion was Li Ang.

As time passed, other sovereign entities around the world also learned of the U.S. military high command being subjected to meme attacks.

Fortunately, AIM had issued warnings beforehand, and the major sovereign entities did not establish a global coalition army or any global coordinated military command systems,

militaries of different sovereign entities were all independent of one another,

and they communicated through multiple liaison officers and AIM-provided encryption programs.

Thus, the first round of meme pollution was limited to the U.S. military high command, preventing them from taking down the military command systems of sovereign entities worldwide in one fell swoop.

Furthermore, AIM left behind a contingency—its artificial intelligence program, upon detecting meme pollution, quickly cut off communication permissions of the U.S. military high command with subordinates and the outside world,

using remote network control to seal off the underground air defense facility where the Four-star General and others were located, to delay the speed of meme pollution as much as possible,

thus avoiding Li Ang from utilizing the U.S. military high command to launch intercontinental ballistic missiles toward Europe or Russia.

However, this also caused greater fear and anxiety among other countries’ militaries.

They vaguely guessed that Li Ang had achieved meme pollution of the U.S. military high command through long-range artillery bombardment on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base,

using the objectively existing geopolitical military landscape to significantly reduce the number of cruise missiles tracking him on U.S. soil, leaving Russia, England, and other countries only able to continue launching intercontinental missile attacks.

However, unlike cruise missiles able to perform high-speed maneuvers within the atmosphere, once launched, intercontinental missiles cannot easily change targets, let alone pursue over long distances within the atmosphere.

As long as Li Ang was determined to move, performing ultra-long-range teleportation of 500km scale, intercontinental ballistic missiles would not be able to catch him.

"Still too slow..."

With just three teleports, Li Ang had traveled from Los Angeles to a spot 1,300 kilometers away in Wyoming, where he arrived... above a geyser.

The water of this geyser was bright deep blue, not deep in depth, and the soil at its edge was stratified in light and dark brown, resembling random paint splotches by an oil painter.

"Hehe."

Li Ang smiled, rising from the crater left by the Colt Revolver, stepping on the invisible staircase of the Cloud Ascending Ladder to ascend high into the air.

Here was a national park in Wyoming, sprawling in size and offering picturesque landscapes: valleys, waterfalls, hot springs, inhabited by wildlife such as American bison, American cormorants, Yellowstone cutthroats, and occasionally rare birds like American cranes.

Yellowstone National Park.

The world’s first national park, covering an area of 898,317 hectares, housing one of the largest forested areas globally, 10,000 hot springs, over 300 geysers, and 290 waterfalls.

At the same time, it also contained... the Yellowstone Volcano.

Li Ang moved forward in the air, stepping above Yellowstone Lake, surveying the 350 square kilometers of this inland lake from above.

On ordinary days, this lake area would be frequented by tourists coming to fish for trout, but now, it was deserted, with only a few water birds playing along the lakeshore.

Li Ang let his hands fall, releasing myriad plant vines from his sleeves. Under the control of Swamp God Power, these vines traversed the high-sulfur-content blue lake water, burrowing into the lakebed, penetrating the rock layer and continuing downward.

The entire lake, in fact, was the center of the active Yellowstone Volcano.

Swish... swish...

The sound of massive vines slicing through lake water seemed pleasing and melodious, Li Ang lowered his eyelids, sensing the vines’ plunging spread into the rock layers.

Whoosh—

The sound of piercing the void came from far away, Li Ang looked toward the west, where dense points of light lit up the sky.

Those were not cruise missiles but M270 rocket artillery,

kilometers from the center of Yellowstone National Park, thirty M2 infantry tracked vehicles, camouflaged and hidden at the forest’s edge.

This was a 1,000-man unit of the U.S. Army, using M270 rocket artillery, a model that performed excellently in the Gulf War, with dual launch boxes, each containing six launch tubes and storing six rockets.

Thirty tracked vehicles meant a salvo of 360 rounds.

A dense rain of rockets spilled over the airspace above where Li Ang stood atop the lake,

yet his face showed little expression, with a casual wave, massive plant tentacles resembling the Kraken extended from beneath the lake, intercepting the incoming rocket salvo.

Boom!

The plant tentacles were shattered into pieces, with countless broken plant vines falling into the lake only to be recycled.

Single rockets posed no threat to Li Ang anymore; it was merely a matter of expendable Divine Power to casually swat them away.

"I recall the M270 rocket artillery can fire tactical missiles, right..."

Li Ang contemplated passively,

this U.S. Army unit was stealthily positioned, clearly a precautionary defense measure laid down by AIM, casting a wide net—the strategist of Bugman civilization also feared that Li Ang might ignite one or several supervolcanoes globally.

But again, the crux is, conventional weapons without nuclear-level force are meaningless to Li Ang.

He retrieved a Minor Master Ball from the void, casually tossing it out,

and the Fenix Pit Beast descended once more upon earth, roaring to the heavens in insatiable rage upon landing.

Compared to last time, the body of the Fenix Pit Beast had grown a circle larger, its skin fixed with heavy, solid metal plates by rivets, and a chain mace hung at its waist.

Initially, Li Ang intended to equip it with heavy machine guns and the like, but this beast was simply too dim-witted to use any complex weapons.

And due to some unknown mechanism, Li Ang couldn’t delve too deeply in reconstructing its brain—the Pit Beast’s brain, once beginning to evolve, would inexplicably draw nutrients from its entire body, causing muscle atrophy.

Unable to become a "Hulk body, Bruce Banner mind" super soldier,

it would only become a "Bruce Banner body, Hulk mind" super iron-stupor organism,

inept in anything, incapable of consuming enough.

No understanding of why this occurs, one can only resign.

"Go."

Li Ang casually commanded as the Fenix Pit Beast immediately charged toward the mountain’s rocket forces.

A 20 kilometer distance was but a matter of a hundred breaths for this war beast.

The soldiers stationed at the forest edge had no time to abandon vehicles and flee before being caught by the Pit Beast, whose mace smashed through multiple rocket artillery vehicles, leaving the surviving in a frantic retreat into the woods.

And in the distance, Li Ang continued manipulating the plant vines to spread.

Surface plants covered the rocky lake surroundings, forming several smaller Dawn Train Heavy Cannons and a dense array of anti-aircraft guns,

to defend against forthcoming cruise missiles and intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Meanwhile, plants below the lake continued piercing downward along the volcanic rock layer, exploring the volcanic tube and magma channels of Yellowstone Volcano.
