Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Forceful Assault

Long Ming and Shi Qiang ran down the alley without stopping.

Just then, Shi Qiang glanced back. He saw Hamman and the others closing in and shouted in terror.

"Damn it, they’re catching up!"

"Dammit!"

Long Ming cursed under his breath, raised the Ge-Ke automatic pistol in his hand, and fired a shot at Hamman’s group.

BANG!

"Bastard, he’s got a gun! Take him out first!"

Startled, Hamman and his men immediately raised their firearms and fired at Long Ming.

Long Ming quickly ducked around a corner to his right, breaking their line of sight and sprinting wildly onward.

Seeing this, Shi Qiang ran after him.

BANG! BANG!

Bullets slammed into the corner wall, sending sparks flying.

The two of them fled for their lives, trying to use the complex terrain to lose their pursuers.

But the group behind them was relentless, clinging to their trail like venomous snakes and firing indiscriminately.

Long Ming occasionally returned fire with his pistol, but instead of forcing them back, it only made them pursue him more fiercely.

Long Ming looked as if he’d seen a ghost. ’Are these guys loaded? Don’t they care about wasting ammo?’

His eyes sharpened. He ducked left into a narrow alley.

Then, he leaped hard to the right, planted his foot on the wall, and used the momentum to jump left. He kicked off the left wall, propelling himself upward until he could grab an open windowsill and pull himself inside.

Shi Qiang was dumbfounded by this display. He quickly pulled a rope from his backpack, threw it up, and yelled anxiously.

"Bro, I can’t make it up! Pull me up!"

"Are you an idiot? Just keep running! I guarantee you’ll make it out alive!"

Long Ming looked down at Shi Qiang, his face dark as he replied.

’If he stays down there, he’ll give away my position.’

"Huh? Are you sure?"

Shi Qiang was stunned by Long Ming’s words.

"I’m sure! Now run!"

Long Ming urged him on.

Since Long Ming had said so, Shi Qiang had no choice but to bet it all and run for his life.

Long Ming pulled back into the room, hiding against the wall.

Soon, Hamman and his men arrived in pursuit.

"Boss, over there!"

Xiaoka spotted the fleeing Shi Qiang and shouted to Hamman.

"After him!"

Hamman led his companions, speeding up to give chase.

As soon as they ran past, Long Ming immediately peeked out.

He got a clear look at the equipment of Hamman’s five-man team. Hamman, the leader, carried a submachine gun; two of his underlings each had a single-shot rifle, and the remaining two held axes.

He decisively aimed for Hamman’s back.

Suddenly, Hamman felt something wasn’t right. ’We were chasing two people, but I only see one.’ He instinctively glanced back.

He instantly saw Long Ming leaning out of the window, gun aimed right at them.

His expression changed, and he immediately dodged!

BANG!

Long Ming fired, but Hamman dodged, and the shot missed.

His face darkened slightly, and he turned his fire on the other two men with guns.

BANG! BANG!

"Aargh!"

With agonized screams, two of Hamman’s men were shot dead, crumpling to the ground.

Hamman snapped back to his senses, raising his submachine gun and spraying bullets toward Long Ming.

BANG! BANG!

Long Ming quickly ducked back behind the wall.

"Hamman, what do we do now?"

one of his subordinates asked, completely baffled.

"Monte, Xiaoka, pick up the guns! We’re going to kill this bastard!"

Hamman replied, glancing at the bodies on the ground in a rage.

"Yes, sir."

Monte and Xiaoka quickly picked up the single-shot rifles from the ground.

Keeping their guns trained on the window, Hamman led the two in search of the building’s entrance, preparing to storm it and finish off Long Ming.

Just then, Long Ming began stomping down the stairs.

"Shit, he’s trying to escape!"

Hearing the noise, Hamman immediately led his men toward the building’s entrance.

Once the three of them were gone, Long Ming suddenly vaulted back out the window, quickly put on his shoes, and took off in Shi Qiang’s direction.

Before long, Long Ming caught up to Shi Qiang. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"Bro, did you get them?"

"I got two. The leader was too alert."

Long Ming was a little frustrated. ’I was so close to taking them all out.’

"So what do we do now?"

Shi Qiang asked nervously.

"What else? We run!"

Long Ming led Shi Qiang, and they kept running.

After a series of twists and turns, they ran straight into a dead end. A row of iron bars blocked their path, enclosing a yard where a quaint, two-story house stood.

"Bro, it’s a dead end! I can’t run anymore."

Shi Qiang said, panting for breath.

"Let’s go inside and rest."

Long Ming was exhausted too, so he and Shi Qiang entered the house through the front door.

The two of them sat down against the wall just inside the entrance to rest.

"Bro, are you a Profession player? Your skills are amazing."

Shi Qiang looked at Long Ming and asked curiously.

"Why are you asking so many questions? We barely know each other."

Long Ming replied in a cold tone.

Shi Qiang didn’t seem to mind, chuckling as he spoke.

"Bro, it looks like you’re not in a guild. Ever thought about joining our Giant Wave Guild? We have great benefits."

"Not interested."

Long Ming had zero interest.

Just as Shi Qiang was about to press the issue,

Long Ming suddenly heard a faint noise and immediately gestured for Shi Qiang to be quiet.

Shi Qiang instantly shut his mouth.

Long Ming listened carefully. Hearing movement from both the front and back of the house, he said to Shi Qiang,

"Not good. They’ve found us, and there are more than three of them."

"Ah! What do we do?"

Shi Qiang was stunned.

"Upstairs!"

Long Ming immediately grabbed Shi Qiang and dashed for the stairs, quickly reaching the second floor.

The top of the stairs on the second floor opened into an enclosed living room.

The two of them hid on opposite sides of the stairwell opening.

Before long, Hamman and his men crept inside. Just as Long Ming had guessed, there were five of them now, not three.

However, the two new members were unarmed.

At that moment, Monte said to Hamman,

"Boss, they’re hiding on the second floor. What now?"

"Damn it, I’m going to kill them today no matter what. We storm them!"

"That won’t be easy, will it?"

"What’s there to be afraid of? There are five of us, and he only has one gun!"

Hamman said, a vicious glint in his eyes.

"Right."

Monte and the others nodded.

"Go."

Hamman said to Monte and Xiaoka.

Monte and Xiaoka took the lead, cautiously ascending the stairs with their single-shot rifles raised.

Behind the wall, Long Ming tightened his grip on his gun, his heart beginning to race.

Just as they were about to reach the top of the stairs,

Long Ming leaned out, raised his pistol, and fired in quick succession.

BANG! BANG!

"Aargh!"

Before Monte and Xiaoka could even react, one was shot in the head and the other in the chest, both killed instantly.

Enraged, Hamman raised his submachine gun and sprayed the doorway wildly.

"AARGH!"

Seizing the opportunity, one of the unarmed men let out a battle cry and charged at Long Ming.
