The moment I woke up, I was still on the wooden floor. My cheek felt cold against the wood. My back ached. For a second I didn’t even remember where I was.
Then it all rushed back. The shop. The snake.

I searched around looking for that giant snake only to find her curled up in a corner sleeping.
Her body was coiled into a heavy pile, scales barely moving as she breathed.
I froze. Good. She was sleeping.
"Fuck I am out of here."
I muttered, finding the strength in me to stand up. My legs felt weak like I had just run a marathon. I pressed one hand against the wall for balance.
I felt a tiny pain in my wrist, like a bug bite or something.
Mosquitos.
I rubbed the spot absentmindedly and walked out of the room slowly, careful not to make any sudden noise.
The moment I stepped out I took a deep breath.
Uncle PP was where I saw him last.Behind the counter. Exactly the same place.
Like he had not moved the entire time.
"You will try again tomorrow" he said nonchalantly.
He didn’t even look surprised that I had woken up.
"No thanks, I’m not feeding that snake again." I said.
My voice still sounded a little shaky.
"You didn’t even feed it, I fed it" he said.
I stared at him. I can’t believe this guy left me on the ground, but that was a nice sleep by the way.
I pulled out my phone and checked the time.
7:30.
My eyes widened a little. I picked my backpack preparing to leave.
"So... I guess my time is up time for me to leave. Bye bye." I said stepping away from the counter to the door.
He did not even say goodbye. Nothing. Not even a glance.
I reached the door and pushed it open.
Cool air hit my face. I stepped outside. Then stopped. My hand still on the door handle.
I wanted something from him.
Something that might help me control myself.
I stood there for a moment thinking. Then sighed. I made a full stop and turned. Then walked back to him.
He was still doing something behind the counter.
"So.. do you have something like, maybe a suppressant... I’m not talking about the chemical pills kind. Like something natural... that I can use to suppress unwanted heat..." I said, slowly and I was nervous about what I was saying.
The words felt strange leaving my mouth.
I didn’t know how he was going to portray me after that.
He looked at me. Quiet. No expression. He didn’t say anything. The silence stretched for a few seconds.
Then he wiped his hands on a cloth.
"Your brother also needed suppressant when he was pregnant... I made a lot for him and all I got was not a thank you." He said plainly.
I blinked.
"Okay, that means you have, that is great. And about my brother I am sure he meant to thank you or visit you. But he is busy nowadays. I will let him know you gave me a job."
"I have seen him already, no need to let him know you work here. Eriko said you shouldn’t tell him."
I frowned.
"Why should I not tell him that I work here?" I asked.
He shrugged lightly.
"You know him always making a big deal out of everything. He doesn’t trust anyone but himself to take care of his family."
I leaned back slightly against the counter.
I don’t know why he doesn’t want me to let Paye that I am working here but I don’t understand that part.
Paye used to trust people. At least he used to.
He trusted Guru to take care of us and then suddenly he ran from him saying we should avoid him and never let him know of our whereabouts.
So I am not going to tell him if he makes a big deal out of this.
Uncle PP turned around and reached for something behind him.
Glass clinked lightly.
After that he handled me a small portion bottle, the moon water.
The bottle was small enough to hide in my palm. The liquid inside looked pale.
Just one drop in my drinking water everyday and it will suppress my heat for a few hours, he did not specify he just said a few hours.
I turned the bottle slowly between my fingers.
Well I don’t care, the moment I see Princess will be the moment I drink.
I will show Princess that I am not her submissive bitch.
I slipped the bottle into my bag. Then finally left the shop.
By the time I got home my body felt heavy again. I dropped my bag near the couch.
I finally got home, the first thing I did was relax on the couch.
I stretched my legs out. The house was quiet.
I checked the fridge for something to eat. Luckily my brother left Taco soup.
The container sat in the middle shelf like it had been waiting for me.
I heated it up and ate. The warmth helped.
Then I took a quick nap. Since noone was home so it was a bit peaceful.
Then fucking later on around past 8 the door bell rang. The sound shot straight through my skull.
Not now when I am having a peaceful sleep and life.
I groaned and dragged myself off the couch. My hair was probably a mess. I went to open the door.
It was Malo, who badge in easily. He walked straight inside like he owned the place.
"Come in.." I said sarcastically.
I closed the door. He was already on the couch.
"What do you want?" I said.
"I am taking you for the party."
"I never said I was going"
"Well I need someone to follow me, that purple hair can rip my heart anytime, anywhere." He said.
He is the one who wants to work with her so...
"And she can rip mine too. Look I don’t want to hang around with that bitch, she freaks me out. And I am already freaked today. All I want to do is just sleep... until tomorrow comes for another boring day in school. So Malo fuck off and bye." I said going back to the couch and lie down.
I buried my face into the couch.
He stood up.
"You know you owe me an apology, you were supposed to use it to cash my job back. But I want you to follow me to the party. You like girls right, there are going to be hot girls bathing in swimming pool, cocktails, Jell-O shots, rum-coke, borgs.. a lot of shit is going to happen to night. Oakland is the only town you don’t need a ID to be who you are. Come on girl let’s fucking go and have fun.. also save my life." he said like he was reciting a speech.
I just stared at him from the couch.
"You know I am pregnant?" I reminded him.
"There is gonna be diet Coke and mock tails,"
I stared at him again. But what he said earlier before made me say up on the couch.
"You mentioned girls, hot girls..?" I said brighten my face.
"Yes I did" he said confused my my behavior.
"Good, I told someone that I was going to bang someone tonight. I am fucking someone tonight and it’s not going to be her." I said jumping off from the couch walking towards my room.
My feet moved faster now. Energy suddenly back.
"Whatever as long as you follow me to the party." I heard him muttered as I close my room door.
