I stayed inside the shower. I don’t know how long, but I needed to suppress my heat. I can’t give in. I won’t.
The cold water kept running down my back. My fingers were pressed against the wall. My breathing slowly calmed, then picked up again. Every few seconds I had to close my eyes and focus.

I turned off the shower and grabbed a towel.

Eriko made breakfast as usual. He increased my portions. The smell of pancakes filled the kitchen.
"For the babies that are on the way, you need to eat healthy now so they will be strong and healthy, just like Dina," he said, stacking my plate with pancakes.
"Thank you, Eriko."
"Well, I should be thanking you. Now I know my stashed beers will be the same number when I get home from work," he said, smiling.
I can’t tell if he was mad about it.
He walked over to the fridge and grabbed juice. Then he proceeded to serve Kaye his food, then sat down to eat.
The chair scraped slightly on the floor.
"Em, Eriko, can I ask you a question?"
"Go ahead, I am all ears."
I hesitated for a second.
"When you were pregnant, did your senses get heightened, like super hearing, increased speed, all that shit?" I asked.

Eriko paused and sat down properly.
His fork stayed in his hand.
"I can’t tell. Some wolves are different. You are a female and I am a male. My senses stayed the same except for my nose. From the second trimester I could smell things from miles away. Are your senses all heightened?"
"Yes, they are. Right now even with these earbuds on I can hear a rabbit running around in the woods from here, and at the same time I am hearing the twitching of birds... is it normal?"

The screen lit up immediately.
The airplane mode was because of Princess. Yesterday, Sunday, I got nonstop emojis and texts from her.
The notifications stacked one after another.

Are you coming to the mall today?
Baby emojis. Little wolf emojis..
I read them, but I did not reply, and I won’t reply.
Then the phone started vibrating. She was calling nonstop.
The screen kept lighting up.Her name again. And again. And again. I picked up.
The first thing she said was, "What’s up, orange Omega."
I hung up before she finished the sentence and immediately put the phone on airplane mode.
Silence after that felt good.
I cannot constantly be reminded that I am carrying her pups every second.
"Okay, I input the address, and looks like you got messages," Eriko said, giving me back the phone.

"Princess is a spam?"
My head snapped up.
"How did you know she was the one?"

Kaye started laughing.
