Chapter 218: Faye Breakdown
Third person
Faye was quiet after hearing what Sasha had just told her... she took a step backwards, almost losing her balance... Her shoe caught the edge of a rubber mat, and her heavy body swayed for a second. The room seemed to spin around her, the reflection in the big mirror blurring into a smear of grey and black.
Malo stood up, looking at Faye. "Faye." He called out, having a worried look.. He dropped the donut box onto the bench, his hand reaching out toward her as he took a cautious step forward, his eyes locked onto her trembling frame.
But she didn’t respond, she was breaking down, trying to recall the moment when she had felt that body pain, thinking it was Yuki and Helen who had done something to her, but it was actually Princess who was in pain... The phantom aches from months ago suddenly made sense, the crushing weight in her chest while she was unconscious... It hadn’t been her own body failing. It had been the mate bond bleeding into her soul. She also recalled the time when she blamed Princess for coming late to her rescue... The harsh words she had thrown at her, the accusations of negligence, all of it crashed down on her like a tidal wave of pure guilt.
Faye tried to get herself together but she was losing it, her hands scattered through her hair as she began a soft cry, she broke down to the ground crying... folding herself into a ball, crying... Her knees hit the hard mat with a dull thud, her fingers tugging violently at her own shaggy locks as if she could rip the awful realization right out of her brain. She tucked her head down against her knees, her shoulders heaving with deep, ragged sobs that tore through her throat.
Malo and Haley tried to go close to her to calm her down but Faye panicked.. Her eyes snapped open, wide and bloodshot, staring at their approaching figures through a veil of tears.
"Get the fuck away from me! I asked so many times but you lied to me!..." She barked.
Remembering when she asked them what happened but they just brushed it off, not telling her the truth, and after saying those words both Malo and Haley were slammed into the nearest gym equipment... no one touched them, they just found themselves in the air and the next thing was bang... A sudden, invisible force exploded outward from her small form, catching both of them right in the chest. They flew backward through the air, their limbs flailing before colliding hard against the heavy metal weight racks with a deafening rattle of iron.
Malo struggled to get up to see Sasha raising her hands towards them... He groaned, clutching his bruised ribs as he lifted his head from the floor, his vision swimming as he looked across the gym.
"W-what are you doing?" He said. His voice was breathless, his fingers twitching against the floor as he tried to push himself upright.
Sasha had a worried face looking at them. "It’s not me, I can’t control my powers..." she said, then looked at Faye curled up on the ground. "She’s in my head..." she muttered ... her hands were trying to resist but they were locked in, still pointing towards Haley and Malo. Her fingers were trembling violently, the veins in her wrists standing out blue and tight under her skin as Faye’s raw, chaotic mind hijacked her Beta abilities, forcing her to hold them down against their will.
Malo, seeing that Faye had lost it and their lives were in danger.. he had no choice but to grab his phone from his jean pocket and phone Princess.. since she was the only one capable of calming Faye. His fingers shook so much he almost dropped the device twice, quickly tapping the screen and pressing it to his ear while watching the invisible pressure ripple through the air around them.
After some time Princess walked in with Beam. The gym doors swung open with a loud bang, the cool air from the hallway rushing inside. Princess’s eyes scanned the gym only for her to see Faye curled up crying on the ground, the moment she took a step forward to meet her, Sasha used her powers to push Princess away... An invisible wall slammed right into Princess’s stomach, forcing her back a foot as her boots skidded against the floor. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"I’m sorry, I can’t control my powers... she doesn’t want anyone coming close to her.... If you go close, I’m afraid I will have to stop you by all means..." Sasha said. Tears were streaming down Sasha’s face now, her arms rigid as iron bars as she struggled against the mental grip locking her muscles.
"You are not going to stop me from getting close to her... she needs me and I am the only one who can calm her down.." Princess said as she attempted to move close to Faye but she was dragged away and slammed to the ground by Sasha’s telekinesis. Princess bared her fangs, her Alpha aura flaring up in a heavy wave, but the unseen force lifted her right off her feet and threw her down against the hard mats with a dull, bone-jarring thud.
While Sasha focused on Princess, not giving up, Beam used this as an opportunity, Beam moved like a shadow, her footsteps completely silent against the floor. She reached Sasha in a second, her hands moving with a quick, brutal twist that cut off the telekinetic flow instantly. Sasha dropped like a stone, the invisible pressure in the room vanishing into thin air.
Malo and Haley checked on Sasha. They rushed forward the second they were freed from the invisible hold, dropping to their knees beside her limp body to check her pulse, their faces pale with frantic worry.
Princess finally got to meet Faye who was still crying on the ground.. She scrambled up from the floor, ignoring the ache in her own joints, and rushed across the short distance separating them.
Princess sat Faye up, pulling her close to give her warmth, so she could calm her down... she petted her hair, rocking her like a baby.. She wrapped her strong arms tightly around Faye’s trembling shoulders, tucking Faye’s head right beneath her chin to shield her from the rest of the room.
"It’s okay baby.. I’m here now.. it’s okay." Princess said, then kissed Faye’s head... rocking her gently, her deep voice rumbled against Faye’s ear, a steady, soothing anchor amidst all the chaos. Princess looked over at the dented equipment and the scattered snacks, her brow furrowing with a mixture of concern and relief that the worst of it was over.
Faye finally calmed down, she stopped crying and was now silent.. she had been silent for a while and it made Princess worried.. The frantic shaking stopped, replaced by a strange, heavy stillness that made her body feel completely limp in the Alpha’s embrace.
"Babe.." Princess called, trying to check on her in her arms, she didn’t answer so she called a second time, then Faye opened her eyes... Princess shifted her grip slightly, tilting her head down to look into Faye’s face, her heart skipping a beat at the blank look in her mate’s eyes.
"I want to go home.." Faye muttered, her voice hoarse from all the crying. The words were barely a whisper, a dry rasp that showed just how exhausted she was from the emotional outburst.
Immediately Princess lifted her up into her arms, despite Faye’s weight due to being heavily pregnant, Princess could still carry her girlfriend because of her Alpha dominance. She gathered Faye up effortlessly, cradling her close to her chest as she stood up, her jaw set tight with protective instinct as she walked toward the exit without another word to the others. freeweɓnøvel.com
When Princess got to the club, she took her straight to the bedroom and laid her down, Princess was going to get water or any liquid for Faye to drink but Faye held her hand, shaking her head for her not to leave.. Faye’s fingers gripped Princess’s wrist with surprising strength, her eyes wide and begging as she pulled her back toward the mattress.
Princess smiled at her, trying to give her comfort but Faye staring at Princess’s smiling face reminded her of the crushed tomato, wondering how much pain Princess must have felt and she began to sob again, repeating the words.
"I’m sorry.." The tears flowed fresh down her cheeks, soaking into the pillowcase as she clung to her mate’s arm, the guilt tearing at her inside out.
