Chapter 153: Princess Lost.

Whenever I turned on a match to watch Yuki fight at home, I was always the one hyping her up. I would jump on the couch and pray for her to win every single time. I always enjoyed the technique, the way she moved, and the sound of her landing a perfect punch or a kick. It was exciting.

But right now, sitting in this arena, it was the complete opposite.

I was sitting beside Malo, squeezed in with the rest of the audience. This wasn’t a big screen in my living room where I could just mute the volume or look away. This was live. I was present in the arena, watching every single detail, smelling the sweat and the tension. I could hear the heavy thuds of skin hitting skin.

It was a six-round match. The first and second rounds were actually okay. Princess looked focused, her feet moving well, and she was able to block every attack Yuki threw at her. It gave me a little bit of hope that maybe, just maybe, she could get through this unscathed.

Sasha had arrived with Haley way before the first round even started, but they went off to get snacks and only came back during the third round. When they finally slid back into their seats, they looked all messed up, yes that kind of mess.

"What the hell? You guys took so long," Malo said. He didn’t even look at them, just reached out as he was handed his donut. I was given a diet coke and a burrito, but I barely had the appetite to hold them.

"The queue was so long..." Sasha explained, breathing a bit hard as she sat down.

"Are you kidding me? Mike over there went to buy his pretzel the same time you two left, and he came back within four minutes. You’ve been gone for almost thirty minutes..." Malo said, looking back and forth between them.

"Dude, just eat your fucking donut and shut up..." I snapped.

He was right beside me, and I was already incredibly annoyed by the sound of his voice. Even I was concerned about what they were doing all that time, but I couldn’t focus on them for long. My mind was still inside that octagon, locked on the two women circling each other.

That was when the rhythm changed. Yuki finally hit Princess in the eye.

The sound of the impact made me flinch. Yuki was leading now, and the scoreboard showed it. Her scores were high, her movements becoming more aggressive and precise. Princess, on the other hand, was starting to look rough. She was bruised, her skin turning a dark purple around the hits. During the break, while the trainers were rushing in to attend to her, I noticed her eyes searching the crowd. She was scanning the rows of people, looking for something.

Her eyes landed on me.

I felt a jolt in my chest. I quickly changed my worried expression, forcing the fear off my face so I could give her a forced smile. I didn’t want her to see how scared I was.

"You got this, baby..." I whispered to her.

I was sure she heard me or at least read my lips, because she gave me a small smile after that. It was enough to make her stand back up for the next round.

The fourth round began, and my hype seemed to give Princess the push she needed. She came out stronger, taking the lead and managing to target Yuki’s ribs with a solid strike. That must have been incredibly painful because Yuki actually groaned, a sound that was caught by the nearby mics. Luckily for Yuki, the time was up right after that.

That round boosted Princess’s morale through the roof. Before walking to her corner, she turned and blew me a kiss in front of everyone. I felt all eyes in the arena shift toward me, and I just buried my face in my drink, trying to hide. I couldn’t help but blush like crazy, and my smile wouldn’t fade no matter how hard I tried to be serious.

Then my eyes glanced over at Yuki.

While the trainers were checking her ribs, her eyes were locked onto Princess. Her purple eyes seemed to glow for a second, turning a darker, more intense shade. She had this heel-faced expression, a look of pure, cold malice that made the hair on my arms stand up.

The next round was going to be a tough one. I could feel it in the air.

And to my surprise, it was even worse than I imagined.

Yuki didn’t give Princess any openings. None. She kept that cold, robotic expression the entire time, moving with a speed that didn’t seem normal. Toward the end of the round, Yuki landed a knockout kick straight to Princess’s face.

Princess fell to her knees, the air leaving her lungs in a sharp gasp.

Then the bell for the fifth round rang, signaling the end of the exchange.

But Yuki wasn’t done.

She ignored the bell. She ignored the rules. She ignored the fact that this was supposed to be a friendly match for the cameras.

In an instant, she moved in and snapped Princess’s neck.

The sound was sickening. The coke and the burrito fell from my hands, spilling all over the floor, but I didn’t care. I couldn’t move. I watched as Princess collapsed, falling unconscious at Yuki’s feet like a broken doll.

Yuki just stood there, towering over her, staring down at her body. The referee rushed in, calling it a foul and immediately disqualifying the match, but Yuki didn’t seem to care about the decision. Her face twitched into a cruel, dark smile.

I had never seen that side of her before.

She was disqualified, her reputation was probably taking a hit, and she was still smiling like she had just won everything she ever wanted.

The next hour was a blur of panic. We ended up in the clinic.

Princess was already conscious by the time I got to her, sitting up on the bed with a thin blanket over her lap. Her eyes were fixed on me the moment I walked through the door.

I was crying nonstop. I couldn’t help it. The tears were rolling down my face, hot and fast, and I couldn’t stop my shoulders from shaking.

"I’m fine. Stop crying..." she said, her voice sounding a bit raspy.

"I told you to protect yourself! Why did you do that? I was scared. I was so scared..." I said, my voice cracking. I walked over and started hitting her shoulder repeatedly, not hard, but enough to vent the terrifying energy trapped in my chest.

"I’m an Alpha. Nothing is going to happen to me. Remember, we Alphas don’t die easily..." Princess said, reaching out to catch my hands.

"Every single hit felt like I was the one being punched and kicked. Even when she snapped your neck... my heart stopped. You gave me a heart attack..." I continued to cry like a child, the weight of the last few minutes finally crashing down on me.

"Technically, your idol was the one who broke the rules," Princess pointed out, trying to lighten the mood. "But look, my neck is perfectly fine. I don’t feel any pain at all. See?"

"You are lying!" I cried out, wiping my eyes with the back of my hand.

Princess didn’t argue. She just reached out and pulled me closer to her chest, wrapping her arms around me. I tucked my head into the crook of her neck and continued crying against her, my tears soaking into her skin.

"Wow... I can’t believe this is the same omega who enjoyed punching me in the face back then... you really are a crybaby..." she muttered, though her voice was soft and teasing. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"You have no idea how scared I was. If you understood how I feel right now, you would just shut up..." I said back, my voice muffled against her.

"Hey, don’t cry. I don’t like seeing my girlfriend cry. I like the fierce vibe more. This one actually scares me..." she said.

She leaned down and kissed the top of my head, holding me tight and trying to comfort me, even though she was the one who had just been kicked in the face and had her neck snapped. I stayed there, listening to her heartbeat, trying to convince myself that she was really okay.
