Chapter 23: Chapter 23: The 3 Major Galais Mental Equations

Nasha stared at the young man inside the sphere of light, her expression complicated.

Yesterday, she had used a detection Witchcraft to check Mo Ning’s Spiritual Strength and noticed a change—that 0.01-point leap had given her a small surprise.

So, she naturally understood what the kid’s new research direction was.

The Sharp-eared Female Apprentice murmured to herself, her voice so soft only she could hear, ’Researching the Spiritual Domain is far more difficult than studying Sub-zero Level Tricks. It’s not as simple as you think.’

Although she felt Mo Ning was being a little overly ambitious, she greatly admired his actions.

’This is what a smart person would do.’

Nasha had seen too many newcomers, and even First Level Apprentices, who hoarded their inherited Secret Techniques as if they were priceless treasures.

Those people treated them as their ultimate trump card, the foundation for surpassing others, terrified that someone might covet them.

’Such a mindset is ridiculous.’

’How many good things does the academy possess?’

The academy has tomes that have lain dormant for millennia, secret scrolls that fill entire floors, and even ancient manuscripts so old their names are lost. How could it possibly care about your family’s shallow and inferior Secret Techniques?

Forget Apprentice Level Secret Techniques; the academy’s library has them in spades, even Wizard Level ones.

When those people finally gained higher access privileges and saw the library’s catalog for the first time, the looks on their faces were often priceless.

Truly smart people would donate them immediately upon entering the academy.

And the academy, in its spirit of encouraging the sharing of knowledge, would usually reward them with some Black Tower Points.

She had seen people like that.

Not many, but most of them reached greater heights than their peers.

Inside the sphere of light, the Ink Tube Pen paused for a few seconds, then began to move quickly again:

"According to my rather limited understanding, during the newcomer and First Level Apprentice stages, which is the initial period when one’s spirit begins to sprout..."

"The formulas from Secret Techniques and Divination related to increasing Spiritual Strength are primarily the three great Gallai Spiritual Equations."

"Namely—the ’Gallai Spiritual Rheological Equation,’ the ’Gallai Spiritual Frequency Vibration Equation,’ and the ’Gallai Spiritual Steady-State Convergence Equation’."

Nasha took in the text.

Then, she felt her understanding receive another small jolt.

She whispered, ’Many Third Level Apprentices haven’t even delved into the three great Gallai Spiritual Equations... yet this kid actually knows about them.’

The three great Gallai Spiritual Equations—they were a crucial, unavoidable milestone in the fundamental research of the Spiritual Domain.

The pioneer of the Era of Secret Techniques and Divination, Lord Gallai, was the first to reveal the Mystery of spiritual growth using concise and clear Divination Language.

From that point on, research in the Spiritual Domain truly entered the Era of Divination.

Nasha had, of course, studied these three complex Divination equations.

But that was after she had been promoted to Third Level Apprentice.

Yet this newcomer before her, who hadn’t even condensed a Spirit Ring, had written down the three names on paper.

The Female Apprentice began to think that this kid’s sudden decision to start a new project in the Spiritual Domain might not be a case of him being overly ambitious after all.

Instead, he had genuinely grasped something.

After all— ’This kid is a Divination genius even the mentor acknowledges.’

Nasha naturally found a reasonable explanation.

She let out a soft sigh of relief and continued to watch with greater focus.

The manuscript in the sphere of light continued: "And it just so happens that I have a certain understanding of the ’Gallai Spiritual Rheological Equation’..."

"Combining this with my personal experience of increasing my Spiritual Strength through the [High Mountain Breathing Technique], I might be able to begin researching its mysteries."

Seeing this, Nasha smacked her lips unconsciously. ’And here I thought you’d actually mastered all three equations!’

She muttered under her breath, a hint of relief in her tone, ’You almost scared me.’

Mastering only the first Gallai equation—this made the Female Apprentice feel that the kid’s "freakishness" was within an acceptable, "reasonable range."

The Sharp-eared Female Apprentice glanced at Mo Ning’s profile and muttered again, ’This new project might actually have a chance of being approved.’

At the academy, there was a fundamental principle for applying for research projects—they had to be based on research in Secret Techniques and Divination.

Simply put, a real-world problem had to first be converted into a Divination problem, and a feasible theoretical Divination framework had to be constructed.

The key point—a theoretical framework.

Another key point—feasibility.

Neither could be missing.

What if you wanted to apply for a project just by saying, "This Breathing Technique has potential for improvement. Through personal verification, my Spiritual Strength has increased"?

Sorry!

Door’s to the left, see yourself out!

Because this is the academy.

Research deemed satisfactory by the academy must delve into the essence of Witchcraft, be logically rigorous, and also be repeatable.

It couldn’t be based on a simple "I think" or "I feel."

Due to individual differences, who knew if your personal experience would be effective for others?

In fact, Mo Ning’s current research project on the Spiritual Domain was a case of acting first and justifying it later.

The [Eye of Truth] had already made its judgment: the [High Mountain Breathing Technique] had considerable potential for improvement.

These authoritative-sounding words on the paper, these seemingly well-thought-out explanations—they were merely paving the way for what was about to take shape.

"...it just so happens that I have a certain understanding of the ’Gallai Spiritual Rheological Equation’."

As he wrote that line, the Divination Calculator, after a frenzy of calculations, had already achieved its first preliminary result.

But it was only preliminary.

Not the final result.

The amount of data acquired by the [Eye of Truth] was so enormous, and the time so short, that it was impossible to complete all the data analysis.

But for the project application, this was more than enough.

Mo Ning issued a mental command: ’Extract the theoretical Divination framework!’

Another illusory interface appeared.

Lines of Divination Language scrolled past like a waterfall, so fast the naked eye couldn’t possibly follow.

Less than half a breath later, the scrolling came to an abrupt halt.

A theoretical framework, its structure extremely clear and its logic so rigorous it was almost a work of art, was displayed silently in the center of the interface.

Mo Ning read it carefully for nearly a minute.

Then, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

’This is exactly what I wanted!’

Mo Ning gripped the Ink Tube Pen, its tip once again touching the paper and beginning to glide smoothly:

"Based on the Gallai Spiritual Rheological Equation, I will propose the following hypothesis."

"The essence of the [High Mountain Breathing Technique]’s temporary increase in Spiritual Strength is that the ’Spiritual Rheological Body’ is stimulated by an external force..."

When Mo Ning was reading the theoretical framework and his pen had paused for a long time, the Sharp-eared Female Apprentice, Nasha, couldn’t help but smile.

"I knew it."

She muttered under her breath, her tone inexplicably cheerful, ’Research in the Spiritual Domain is very difficult. Constructing a theoretical framework is definitely not as easy as you think.’

She leaned back in her chair, the tips of her propped-up feet swaying gently.

Thirty seconds passed.

Just as the Third Level Apprentice was thinking that Mo Ning was stumped on how to design the framework and would most likely give up on the project, the Ink Tube Pen suddenly moved.

It was moving much faster than before.

Lines of Secret Spirit Text poured from the nib, scrambling to fill the paper:

"...the stimulation from the external force causes the six ’Rheological Constants’ to fluctuate irregularly."

"The core objective of this research is to conduct numerous experiments to obtain sufficient data, then analyze that data to find the pattern of fluctuation in the Rheological Constants."

"The framework for the data analysis is as follows..."

What followed were long passages of Divination Language.

Perhaps to increase the project application’s chance of success, the kid didn’t omit many of the derivation steps like last time, which had made it a headache to read.

This time, he wrote in exceptional detail. Every step of the derivation was crystal clear, and every variable was perfectly plain.

The logic and orderliness within it gave Nasha the urge to exclaim in admiration.

The Sharp-eared Female Apprentice watched with rapt attention as Mo Ning filled three sheets of scale pattern paper in one go.

Her gaze lingered on the lines of Divination Language, her lips moving slightly as if she were silently reciting them.

When Mo Ning paused once more, Nasha couldn’t help but nod. "This method of data analysis... is truly creative."

After a pause, she added thoughtfully:

"This method of analysis seems like it could also be used in other areas of research within the Spiritual Domain."

Unconsciously, she had once again forgotten her earlier thought—’It’s definitely not as easy as you think.’
