Chapter 140: Chapter 113: The System’s Major Transformation
When Su Chen suddenly spoke, it startled Chen Fei so much that he stumbled and nearly dropped him.
Luckily, Su Chen was agile enough to grab Chen Fei’s arm and steady himself.
Jiang Hui, walking ahead, heard the commotion and quickly turned back. Seeing Su Chen and Chen Fei just staring at each other, he rushed over. "Sir, are you alright?"
"Hm? Why would anything be wrong? I’m perfectly fine!" Su Chen had a vague idea of what had happened. ’It must have been when I was absorbing the memories of those hacking techniques. They probably couldn’t wake me and thought something was wrong!’
"As long as you’re alright, as long as you’re alright!" A weight was lifted from Jiang Hui’s heart.
Not wanting to dwell on the topic, Su Chen patted Chen Fei’s shoulder and said, "Tell Aunt Tang to make some extra food. I’m starving!"
"Yes, Sir!" Upon hearing this, Chen Fei put the incident out of his mind and hurried toward the front courtyard.
Jiang Hui also turned to leave, planning to prepare some drinks and a fruit platter for Su Chen to tide him over.
Once the two had left, Su Chen sat on the sofa, processing the hacking skills he had just acquired. According to the system’s description... his skills could dominate any world-class hacker, giving him the sudden urge to put them to the test.
’I should find some time to set up a rec room in the basement, build my own secret base!’
Su Chen was extremely curious about hacking. He remembered back in middle school, not long after QQ first came out, he used to play games at shady internet cafes, and his account would constantly get stolen.
Back then, he would fantasize about having skills that impressive. He could just steal any short-digit QQ account he wanted and show it off in class. How many girls would he have been able to impress with that?
But alas... as he grew older, he had no idea where those fantasies had gone. Perhaps they were just a passing whim.
"Sir, have some fruit and snacks to tide you over first!"
Jiang Hui’s voice broke Su Chen from his reverie. He decided to put his research on hold for now and could slowly look into the system’s other rewards later.
Having expended so much mental energy, on top of not having eaten breakfast, the moment his train of thought was broken, a wave of hunger washed over him.
He grabbed the snacks and fruit and started eating right away.
With a large Dandong strawberry in his left hand and a snack in his right, he ate with pure delight.
Soon, everything Jiang Hui had brought had vanished into Su Chen’s stomach. Standing to the side, Jiang Hui was stunned. "Sir, should I... go get you some more?"
Su Chen calmly wiped his mouth. "No need. That was just to take the edge off. I need to save room for the meal!"
"Yes, Sir!" Jiang Hui thought about the amount of fruit and snacks he’d brought. It was more than enough to be a full meal for one person, yet for Su Chen it was just something to "take the edge off." ’He must be truly famished,’ he concluded.
With that thought, Jiang Hui collected the empty dishes and hurried to the kitchen in the front courtyard. He had to help Aunt Tang get the food ready faster, so Su Chen wouldn’t have to go hungry.
Just as he reached the Hanging Flower Gate, he saw Chen Fei leading Zong Xinyao inside.
"Steward Jiang," Zong Xinyao called out with a smile, seeing him by the Hanging Flower Gate.
"Ms. Zong, hello. Sir is in the back courtyard. Chen Fei, you can take Ms. Zong to him." With that, Jiang Hui paid her no further mind and hurried toward the kitchen.
Zong Xinyao was a little confused. ’Shouldn’t Steward Jiang be the one to escort me in?’ she thought. ’Why is he passing it off to Chen Fei? And he looked like he was in such a rush.’
"What’s gotten into Steward Jiang? He seems to be in a real hurry!" she asked Chen Fei curiously.
Chen Fei glanced toward the kitchen and said with a hint of uncertainty, "Sir is probably hungry, so Steward Jiang is in a rush."
Zong Xinyao nodded silently at his words. Now she understood Steward Jiang’s behavior.
’Everything revolves around Su Chen.’
When she reached the back courtyard, she saw Su Chen reclining on a lounge chair with Yuanbao in his arms, listening to soft music as he rhythmically stroked the pet.
"Sir, President Zong Xinyao is here," Chen Fei said quietly as he hurried to Su Chen’s side.
"Hm? Zong Xinyao?" Su Chen raised an eyebrow, his gaze shifting to her as she stood a short distance away.
"What brings you to the Imperial Capital? Is everything in Xilinguole settled?"
Hearing Su Chen’s question, Zong Xinyao took a few steps closer. "Everything has been taken care of. I came to the Imperial Capital this time to open our company’s first restaurant here!"
Su Chen nodded in satisfaction. After all, the Imperial Capital was the economic hub of the north. Once they established a foothold here, they could quickly expand into the surrounding major cities.
"Have you met with Eldest Young Master Wang and the others? How did the talks go?" Su Chen asked nonchalantly, stroking Yuanbao.
At this question, Zong Xinyao reflexively bowed a little. She knew this was Su Chen’s strategy to help her rapidly expand the market.
"Sir, we’ve already come to an agreement. Eldest Young Master Wang and his group are forming a franchisee alliance. Whenever we open a location in any city, they will immediately follow suit. They’ve also offered to use their own influence for free to..."
Zong Xinyao was speaking with great enthusiasm when Su Chen cut her off.
"You don’t need to tell me all that. The how is your business. I only look at the results."
Upon hearing that, Zong Xinyao immediately straightened her posture. "Boss, just watch what I can do!"

Zong Xinyao stayed for lunch at the courtyard residence. After a brief discussion about the Vast Sea Group’s future plans, she took her leave.
After all, she was incredibly busy. Not only did she have to select sites for the new locations, but she also had to establish the company headquarters. A mountain of tasks awaited her.
