Chapter 111: Chapter 98: Telling Me to Hand It Over? You’ve Got Some Nerve

Ocean View One, underground garage!

"What kind of party are we going to today? You’re taking this car out?"

Su Chen patted the red Porsche 918 Spyder in front of him. It looked pretty slick—perfect for flexing!

"Get in. You’ll see when we get there." Sicong deliberately kept him in suspense.

Su Chen pursed his lips. ’I wonder what these rich kids are up to,’ he thought. ’It’s probably just some stunt where they take a few limited-edition supercars for a spin, park them on the Bund, and instantly attract a crowd.’

Opening the car door, Su Chen got in and shifted around a couple of times before finding a comfortable position.

VROOOM~

The engine roared to life. Sicong did a launch start, and with a WHOOSH, the car shot forward.

The force pushed Su Chen back into his seat, making his breath catch!

......

At first, Su Chen was a little puzzled. This wasn’t the way to the Bund; it seemed like they were heading toward Minhang District.

After about half an hour, Su Chen finally saw their destination.

"The Shanghai International Circuit?" Su Chen said, looking at the massive sign at the entrance.

Sicong nodded. "Yup. Qin Fen is the biggest thrill-seeker in our circle. He owns over a dozen top-tier supercars and brought them all here. He booked the whole track today to have some fun!"

Su Chen nodded thoughtfully.

Sicong’s Porsche 918 drove straight into the infield of the racetrack without any trouble.

As soon as they entered, he saw about twenty supercars lined up along the edge of the track. There were several Ferraris, Aston Martins, and Lamborghinis. There was even a Bugatti and a Koenigsegg, each parked in the most prominent spots.

"Quite the show-off, isn’t he?" Su Chen remarked teasingly.

Sicong gave a wry smile. "That kid Qin Fen doesn’t have any real bad habits, he just loves to show off. All his luxury cars and watches have to be the best in the world. See that Koenigsegg in the middle? It’s one of only two in the entire country and one of fifty in the world. I heard Qin Fen spent a fortune to get his hands on it!"

Su Chen followed Sicong’s finger and saw a white supercar.

He gave it a good look. It really was impressive.

"Young Master Su! Sicong!" Just then, Qin Fen, Chen Feiyu, and Hou Ting walked over.

Qin Fen glanced at the Porsche 918 behind them and asked, puzzled, "Huh? Young Master Su, you came in Sicong’s car? Why didn’t you drive your own?"

The moment he said that, Sicong’s eyes narrowed. He shot Qin Fen an annoyed look. ’If you don’t know how to talk, then just shut up!’ he thought. ’Aren’t those words just asking to offend someone? Everyone knows Su Chen doesn’t own any supercars. His cars are basically all Rolls-Royces, and his only Aston Martin is an SUV!’

What Qin Fen said was a total slap in the face to Su Chen!

"What do you know, you brat? Is Young Master Su like us? You think everyone just fools around all day and neglects their business like you?"

"All of Young Master Su’s cars are Rolls-Royces. Was he supposed to bring one out to race laps with you guys?"

As Sicong spoke, he glanced at Su Chen out of the corner of his eye. Seeing no change in his expression, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Hearing this, Qin Fen realized his mistake and looked at Su Chen with some apprehension.

After dinner last night, Qin Fen had dragged Chen Feiyu to a bar. He kept pestering him about Su Chen’s background. Chen Feiyu grew annoyed with the constant questions, but considering the partnership between their families, he finally gave in and told him about Su Chen’s standing.

After finding out, Qin Fen—who was usually defiant enough to challenge the heavens, the earth, and even Sicong—instantly deflated.

Su Chen just smiled calmly and waved his hand. "It’s fine. I’m just not that into them."

’Sometimes I wonder,’ Su Chen thought to himself. ’If anyone else had suddenly gotten rich, they’d definitely be buying up luxury cars and famous watches. They’d probably collect Ferraris and Lamborghinis like action figures. But me...’

He really didn’t have much interest in these supercars. If he bought them, he’d only drive them occasionally at best. Most of the time, they would just be collecting dust in the garage.

It was like Sicong when he was just starting out. He was a lot like Qin Fen, buying every Lamborghini and Ferrari he could. But as his business affairs developed, he gradually sold off all those supercars over the past few years. His rides slowly changed to Rolls-Royces, Maybachs, and the like.

In a way, those supercars were a testament to Sicong’s transition from a playboy to a businessman.

After struggling and grinding in Shanghai for years, Su Chen was long past the age of wanting to play around and compete. What he sought now was simply to enjoy life.

If he had to do everything himself, what was the point of hiring drivers and bodyguards?

Seeing that Su Chen wasn’t angry, Qin Fen let out a long sigh of relief.

"Young Master Su, why don’t you pick one you like and take it for a couple of laps?"

"Sure!" Su Chen agreed without a second thought.

When you’re out to have fun, there’s no need to put on airs. That way, not only do you have a good time, but everyone else does too.

A glint appeared in Sicong’s eyes as a fun idea came to him. He spoke up, "How about the five of us have a race? We’ll see who’s the fastest. As for the prize..."

He thought for a moment but couldn’t come up with a good prize, so he changed his mind. "How about this: last place buys dinner!"

Qin Fen, Hou Ting, and Chen Feiyu glanced at each other and nodded in agreement. Then, they all turned their gazes to Su Chen in unison.

"Why are you all looking at me? I don’t mind. But let me be clear up front: no one’s allowed to go easy on me. And more importantly, everyone needs to be safe!"

Racing was no joke. One mistake could lead to a fatal crash. Having fun was fine, but risking your life was not an option.
