Chapter 77: Chapter 77: You Think the Production Team Would Make It This Easy?

What?

A flicker of doubt crossed Chloe Sinclair’s eyes. She thought she must have misheard.

There were plenty of people in the world named Landon Sinclair, but there was only one Landon Sinclair who was also the nation’s youngest physicist.

Chloe Sinclair looked up and saw Landon Sinclair sitting in the mentor’s seat, smiling at her.

Her mouth fell slightly open before she quickly lowered her head again.

Meanwhile, Landon Sinclair, who was with the mentors, frowned.

’Why does Chloe look so unhappy?’

He was so lost in thought that when several people beside him greeted him, he didn’t hear them at first.

"Sinclair, what are you doing on a show like this? Is your work at the lab done?"

The speaker was a physicist. His tone was a bit aggressive, and his eyes held a hint of wariness.

"Let me tell you, the old man is supposed to send any new talent your way first, but you know how things are these days. I haven’t had a new student in years. I’m planning to take on a final disciple, so don’t you dare try to compete with me!"

Landon Sinclair turned his head slightly and asked, "Mr. Sutton, which contestant has caught your eye?"

At his words, Mr. Sutton pointed to Jolie Yates in the center. "That young lady is only a junior, but she’s already made some small achievements in condensed matter physics. With a little more guidance, her future accomplishments will be significant."

"Mm, I won’t compete with you for her."

A hint of a smile touched Landon Sinclair’s eyes.

Mr. Sutton was a little surprised. He clearly hadn’t expected Landon Sinclair to be uninterested in Jolie Yates.

To be honest, anyone who could pass the auditions and get on the show was what they would call a Genius. This was especially true for Jolie Yates, who had achieved so much at such a young age. Yet, Landon Sinclair still seemed unimpressed.

"Hmph. Then who do you want for your lab?"

Before he arrived, the production team had shown him the basic profiles of all the contestants. Besides Jolie Yates, there were only three others studying Physics, four studying math, one studying biology, and the last one was still in high school.

Landon Sinclair just smiled and shook his head, having a good idea of what Mr. Sutton was thinking.

"Don’t you worry. I’m just here to watch."

「Ten minutes later」

The contestants were ready.

The host announced, "Round one: the Exquisite Puzzle. Contestants must fit nine puzzle pieces seamlessly into frames with different rules. You will be ranked based on your completion time. The bottom two will be eliminated."

Hearing the host’s explanation, many in the audience couldn’t help but comment, "Just nine puzzle pieces? Isn’t that too few?"

The words had barely left his mouth when a nearby audience member shot back, "Do you really think the show would make the challenge that simple? Look at the pieces the contestants have. Some are identical, meaning they could fit into any frame. Plus, the pieces are transparent, so they can be flipped front to back. While there’s an element of luck, it’s still incredibly difficult, okay?"

Upon hearing this, the first audience member gasped in shock. "It’s... that hard?"

Many in the audience couldn’t help but turn their gazes toward the contestants.

"Holy crap, look! Vincent’s hands have already frozen several times."

"And Jolie Yates just scrambled the puzzle she was halfway done with and is starting over."

"Is it really that difficult?"

The audience area was abuzz with whispers, and on the mentors’ platform, several of the scholars frowned.

"There’s too much luck involved in this."

But Landon Sinclair shook his head. "No. Luck is a part of skill."

The four mentors all turned to look at him.

"Holy crap, Chloe Sinclair finished!"
