Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Little Sister Sighs, Brother Panics

After spitting out those words, her boss furiously hung up, leaving the reporter to stand stunned in the cold wind for a long moment.

Once she snapped out of it, she gave Chloe Sinclair a long, hard look before deleting all the videos she had just taken.

"I’m sorry."

She felt both indignant and helpless.

"Sorry, but I don’t accept your apology." The faint smile on Chloe Sinclair’s face vanished, her eyes turning cold as ice.

"I already apologized! What more do you want?!"

The reporter was incensed. She felt she had already apologized, but Chloe Sinclair refused to let it go.

Chloe Sinclair stared at the reporter for a long moment before speaking slowly. "I don’t accept your apology. I’ve made a note of everyone present today. If I see any of this footage leaked online, I will take legal action against every single one of you. The Sinclair family has more than enough money."

Chloe Sinclair paused, then her cold eyes swept over them as she added slowly, "But do you?"

Watching Chloe Sinclair’s retreating figure, the reporters felt a sudden chill run down their spines and couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.

One by one, they deleted the day’s footage from their cameras.

Only that one female reporter muttered to herself, ’Isn’t she just the Sinclair family’s adopted daughter? Does she really think she’s some kind of heiress now?’

Then, she lowered her head, looked at her backup file, and restored it without a moment’s hesitation.

Chloe Sinclair’s situation sent shockwaves through the entire family. As the online rumors multiplied and baseless accusations were heaped upon her, the Sinclair family was both heartbroken and frantic.

For the first time, they felt that money couldn’t solve everything.

So what if they got the online posts deleted? The gossipmongers would just keep talking. A person can drown in the spit of the masses.

Gabriel Sinclair, who was away filming, grew more and more worried the more he thought about it. He immediately asked for a few days’ leave from the film crew and flew back to Kennet.

So, Chloe Sinclair was very surprised to see Gabriel when she got home. But seeing her brother after so long, a genuine smile spread across her face. "Gabriel, long time no see."

Gabriel was usually so carefree, but now he didn’t dare to speak, a flicker of hesitation in his eyes.

Finally, he answered cautiously, "Haven’t been home in a while. I missed it." freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Chloe wanted to laugh. She knew Gabriel was just looking for a lame excuse because he was afraid of upsetting her by mentioning the online scandal.

"Aren’t you supposed to be filming, Gabriel?"

Gabriel sat down stiffly on the sofa, his back ramrod straight. Hearing Chloe’s question, he stammered, "Uh, yeah. I took a few days off."

He quickly added, "The director was fine with it."

After he said that, he looked at Chloe, hesitating as if he wanted to say something more.

His stare was so intense it felt like she was being burned, making it impossible to ignore.

"Gabriel, is there something else you want to say to me?"

At her words, Gabriel nodded, took a deep breath, and rushed out in a single torrent: "Don’t worry about the stuff online! Internet trolls are all like that, young with no manners. Their brains are waterlogged and they forgot to install a drain. From the left, they look like idiots; from the right, morons. From above, a pig; from below, a donkey. We don’t stoop to arguing with assholes."

As soon as he finished, Gabriel gasped for air. He’d said so much in one go he was nearly out of breath.

Chloe: "..."

’Gabriel must have spent ages on Baidu to come up with that rant.’

’But he said it so fast, she hadn’t caught a single word.’

She could only sigh. Just as she was about to speak, Gabriel cut her off.

"Little sis, can you please not sigh?" Gabriel said, his face etched with worry. "You sigh and my heart just drops."
