Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Seed of Doubt
Yuna Rhodes wasn’t a complete idiot. She immediately guessed that the person who made the bet with Wilder Rhodes was Chloe Sinclair.
The thought of her allowance being cut for the past half-month, which made it so she couldn’t hold her head high in front of her classmates, sent a wave of anger through her.
"Chloe Sinclair, you bitch! You’re the one who nearly bankrupted my family! I’m telling you, I won’t let you get away with this!"
As she finished, Yuna Rhodes’s voice even cracked, like a hen trying to crow for the first time and letting out a bizarre squawk instead.
The atmosphere had been quite serious, but the moment Yuna’s voice cracked, many students in Class 7 burst out laughing.
Yuna Rhodes’s face turned bright red. She stomped her feet twice, huffed, and ran out of the classroom with her head held high.
Chloe Sinclair shook her head helplessly. ’Still as brainless as she was in her last life,’ she thought.
"By the way, which exam room was she in?" someone from Class 7 asked.
"She was sitting right in front of Summer Beckett."
"PFFT—"
Many of the surrounding students snickered. One clutched their stomach, unable to hold back a laugh. "And she had the nerve to call *us* slackers?"
After all, wasn’t everyone in this exam room one of the "elites" from their respective classes?
"Don’t worry. You definitely won’t be sitting here for the next monthly exam."
Hearing this, a chill went down everyone’s spine. They clearly weren’t taking her words as a joke.
And yet, in the two months of studying that followed, no one could have possibly believed that the students of Class 7, under Chloe Sinclair’s leadership, would become the class with the highest matriculation rate in the school’s entire history.

The midterm exams took a full two days.
After the exams finished on Friday, a three-day holiday began.
At three in the afternoon, the school gate was already crowded with waiting parents. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
However, most of the students coming out looked gloomy, especially the seniors.
"Mom, this exam was way too hard. I’m sure I did terribly."
"Dad, the questions on this test were insane. I’d bet my life on it—absolutely no one could have gotten a perfect score this time."
...
Landon Sinclair, who had come to pick up Chloe Sinclair, heard many similar remarks.
He couldn’t help but feel a little nervous, so when he saw Chloe Sinclair, he didn’t bring up the exams.
Instead, it was Nina Sinclair who began talking about her exams the moment she walked out.
"Landon, I got a copy of the test from my teacher. Can you help me check my answers when we get home?"
"Mm," Landon Sinclair answered distractedly, his gaze drifting to Chloe Sinclair from time to time.
He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that Chloe’s expression was untroubled.
But Nina Sinclair wanted to humiliate Chloe, so she asked, feigning casualness, "Chloe, how do you think you did this time?"
"Just okay."
Landon Sinclair’s heart clenched. Thinking Chloe hadn’t done well, he quickly tried to comfort her. "It’s fine. As long as you did your best, that’s all that matters."
Nina Sinclair sneered internally, but her expression was gentle and considerate. "Chloe, it’s okay if you did poorly. Our family can afford to take care of you anyway."

But there were a lot of people around, and Nina Sinclair was the student council president, after all. Everyone knew her. So he lowered his voice so only the two of them could hear. "Nina, Chloe is our sister. What if she takes what you just said the wrong way?"
Landon Sinclair was angry, but given the time and place, he couldn’t properly reprimand Nina Sinclair.
"Landon, that’s not what I meant."
Nina Sinclair hadn’t expected Landon to call her out in public. She was furious, but she didn’t let it show. Instead, she put on a pitiful, wronged expression.
"Landon, I’m sorry."
Landon Sinclair’s gaze swept over Nina’s face. He softened for a moment, but a seed of doubt had been planted in his mind.
"Let’s get in the car."
