When Su Li received the call from the court, she thought she was hearing things.
A court official had called to inform her that Tang Yuanxiao was relinquishing his custody rights to Little Tang Mo and had submitted an agreement to modify the custody arrangement.
The reason Tang Yuanxiao gave was that his current circumstances were unsuitable for raising Little Tang Mo. Citing Little Tang Mo’s special needs and Su Li’s appeal, he was willing to transfer custody to her.
"Come to the courthouse to sign the documents and file them. Then, go to the relevant departments to complete the procedures, and the child’s custody will be yours."

"I’m going to the courthouse in a bit." After telling Wu Sheng, the news finally started to feel real to Su Li.
She took a deep breath. "Wu Sheng, thank you."

Su Li didn’t know what the future held for her and Wu Sheng, but at this moment, she was grateful she had met him.
"Ahem..." Wu Sheng cleared his throat. "Don’t mention it."
They spoke for a few more moments before Wu Sheng hung up.
After hanging up, Wu Sheng turned back around and continued with business as if nothing had happened.
The ten bewildered faces hurriedly put on serious expressions.
After leaving Wu Sheng’s office and reaching the first floor, the men exchanged glances and let out a collective sigh.
"Who was that on the phone? The boss suddenly became a different person. It scared me."
"Me too!"
Everyone nodded emphatically, formed a line again, and marched away in unison.
These were the team members selected this year. Having just finished the selection process, they were here to meet the big boss.
The meeting was tense, which was normal, but then a phone call came in midway through.
They had witnessed with their own eyes the process of Wu Sheng’s expression—and even his entire demeanor—transforming.
’A devil being scary is normal. But seeing a devil suddenly smile and soften his tone... *Sniffle sniffle*. It’s better if he just stays scary.’
A smiling devil is even more terrifying!
The men left, united in their shared trepidation.
Su Li was still unaware of the psychological trauma her one phone call had inflicted on several young men.
After hanging up, she got up to change her clothes.
"Little Mo, come out with Mommy. Mommy has to run some errands."
Su Li changed Little Tang Mo’s clothes as well, then rushed to the courthouse as fast as she could.
After signing the papers and completing the procedures, Su Li let out a huge sigh of relief.
A staff member glanced at Little Tang Mo sitting obediently to the side, a smile touching their lips at the sight of him.
"It’s still early. If you go handle the rest of the procedures this afternoon, everything will be settled."
"Okay." Su Li nodded vigorously.
Su Li completed the custody transfer procedures with the utmost speed.
By evening, the paperwork was finalized and the dust had settled. Su Li heaved another huge sigh of relief.
"Little Mo, how about we start looking at schools tomorrow?"
Little Tang Mo nodded with all his might.
"Little Mo, you still can’t speak right now. Are you scared to go to school?"
Little Tang Mo shook his head. He wasn’t scared.
"Then let’s pick a school. One type is a regular school, like before. The other type is a little different, where some of the students can’t hear and some can’t speak."

Su Li squatted down and lifted Little Tang Mo onto her back.
"You’re so smart, Little Mo. No matter which school you go to, you’ll do great. Most of the teachers and students will like you, so you don’t need to be nervous."
Little Tang Mo nodded from his perch on Su Li’s back.
"How about we go look at the schools tomorrow or the day after? You can see which one you like, Little Mo. When you’re ready to go to school, we’ll go."
Little Tang Mo nodded again.
’I want to go to school right away.’
’If I go to school, then Mommy can go to school and do her own things.’
Su Li carried Little Tang Mo home on her back. Not long after they arrived, the phone rang.
Su Li answered the phone, but there was no sound from the other end.

A weak, powerless laugh came from Tang Yuanxiao’s end.
He had seen Su Li’s feelings for Little Tang Mo, and he had seen how Little Tang Mo reacted to him. What else could he do but relinquish custody?
After that one laugh, Tang Yuanxiao fell silent again.
"Little Mo is already getting better, and he’ll be even better in the future. After a little more time passes, maybe you can come and see him."
Seeing that he wasn’t talking, Su Li had to be the one to speak.
Tang Yuanxiao grunted in acknowledgment, and then there was silence again.
Su Li had nothing more to say either.

She brought the phone back to her ear.

Tang Yuanxiao’s voice, heavy with his emotions and his restraint, came through the receiver.
"I almost used Little Tang Mo to threaten you into remarrying me. I almost did whatever it took, by any means necessary, to keep you both by my side."
